Valverde - not Camavinga helps Carvajal or whoever plays as RB. In the Manchester City 2nd leg, Doku's flair and speed proved problematic for Carvajal. After City's equaliser, Valverde doubled up on the flank whenever City operated there.
I expect similar approach against Bayern Munich.
Yes, but Valverde helps higher up on the pitch. He doesn't always track back as deep. So the pivots need to jump into action when things get deep. But like I say in another comment above, they will ALL have their hands full !! Hala Madrid !!

How they've performed in the Bundesliga this season has nothing to do with how they perform in the UCL.
They have some struggles with injuries atm, so I think quality wise we might be in favor, but I think the most important thing will be our mentality again. I have the feeling that Bayern is extremely extremely motivated and hot rn. I think it will be very close match.
I hope we can win with a 2 goal difference, but if we suffer and play badly, then I'll gladly take a remis. Losing should not be an option.

Selection wise I only hope Tchouameni plays at CB. For me, your main team line up is the strongest. Camavinga and Kroos *essential* as a double with Valverde and Bellingham switching between joining them in a flat 4 and moving into the more advanced positions, and Rodrygo and Vini ahead wherever they can find space. At home v City, Rodrygo and Bellingham were swapped, but my preference would be like you have it here.
We need both Cama and Aurelien. They are so physical. We need them both. So, the best combo is to have Aurelien as CB. I hope he does this.

Camavinga is the best central midfielder in the squad from a defensive POV, and Nacho has been inconsistent this season. One great game doesn't change that. Then there's the midfield runners of Bayern - this is where Tchouameni causes problems. I hope there isn't a deficit to overcome at home next week.
Bro, I am with you 100%. We need size and muscle against Bayern. Playing Tchouameni in CB would allow us to use Camavinga in the pivot or a defensive midfield role. Leaving Camavinga on the bench in a match like this is criminal in my view. If Bayern scores first, Carlo will make the change. But this would NOT have been my first choice.

I think Ancelloti might play Militao on the right back and they will try to hold the position defensively as much as possible if they get an early goal.
It's certainly possible. But I just don't think he has enough minutes under his boots for such a difficult and physical match. But you never know. Not always easy to guess what Carlo is thinking.

I don’t think for a second that Real Madrid will take Bayern lightly. In terms of the game I think we might have chances down that left hand side again because i feel like kimmich is a player who like to drift from his post from time to time. Also Militao now has a chance to get his full fitness and form back through la liga games. I don’t think we should put him in to that spotlight just yet. But goals change the games and like you said they have static defenders and if Real lets them to grab a 2 goal lead let’s say it will become really really difficult to break bayern. The best defense is to score first or keep it at least a draw. Then they still need to push forward and this leaves gaps to exploit for vini/rodrygo/bellingham
Totally agree with this. We need to use our counter and make sure we don't fall back in the scoreline. If Bayern close up, they will be extremely difficult to beat.

Muller and Davies won't start. I expect this line up: Neuer. Guerrero - Dier - De Ligt - Kimmich. Goretzka - Laimer. Gnabry - Musiala - Sane. Kane. In a more defensive setup, Mazraoui will move to LB and Guerrero will replace Gnabry on the left wing.
It will be fascinating to see which team will take the initiative. I think Bayern will try to sit back and double the Real wingers defensively to take away their speed advantage and counterattacking threat. They will also try to cut the supply lines to their attack by overloading midfield. Real will think the same way as Bayern is also very quick on the wings and in counterattack. That could result in 'boring' chess match.
