This is one of the few "What if" scenarios that completely enthralled me. Unlike others which have minor changes to continuity, this took a complete different turn. Props for making this seem, well plausible in your writing and story direction. I can't wait to see more.
I don't beleive that goku as a child would think kami betrayed him upon discovery of being unable to escape the room of spirit and time, but rather, I feel, a child Goku would assume that something bad happened to kami preventing his release
Ngl I wasn't the most on board with the story concept with how early Goku got SSJ but after watching the saiyan arc and how well you flow character's traits into the story. You make it much more then just a concept, you make it a fully fledged story that's fun to watch and see what happens next. Aka, you doin great XD

My main issue with this what if is that it Goku may as well had negative evil/darkness in his soul because he got hit by a beam that would have killed him if he had even a speck of evil in him, but he didn't, so "detecting darkness" in him wouldn't be possible. This was a very well made video though and I watched the whole thing because it was satisfying with the visuals and audio, I suspended my issue because it was an enthralling experience and made stay up super late just to finish, good job! xD

If you were just chilling with your best friend, and someone beat the life out of your friend, would you not get extremely upset. There's actually a phenomenon in real life similar to super saiyan we called Hysterical strength, where people start being able to lifting cars almost with ease to save someone pinned by said vehicle. Obviously we can't control Hysterical strength like a Saiyan with their Super form, but the concept is similar, a massive power boost out of rushing emotions
this is very well done. You took the story in a completely new direction and captured a lot of the Dragon Ball essence that was missing in later DBZ, Super and of course other what-ifs. Most of all, you made Goku's character more interesting and conflicted. I think it works really well as an alternative timeline of DB.

Okay, the ending to this actually made me cry!! Like as of commenting this my eyes are burning a bit cuz I cried that much, I was not expecting the ending at all!! It's funny how similar the beginning is to the actual legend of the monkey-man (aka Son Goku). A genuine semi-god monkey-man who wanted to show his potential and protect his world, and so, has been offered a magic red staff (like Goku) by the gods themselves and was under the gods commands. But the gods, by the fear of him taking over them, because of his insane speed of growth and power, got sent to an other quest/mission to only be betrayed and trapped for tenths of thousands of years to one day be freed, either by himself or someone else (in general, a human kid). After getting his senses, he realized the god feared him and swear to take his revenge and eliminate them all. Also, when he's angry, his furr and hair spike up and become white (again, kind of like a super saiyen). A game that I love that take back this is Azura's Wrath. A dynamic beat'em all where the gods betray (again) Azura, a powerful army general semi-god whose mortals protector. They kill his wife, kidnap his daughter, then kill him, to then, finally, tell mortals that Azura was a bad guy, and so, they saved them from a massive treat (which is a lie). Afterwards, it's litterally the beginning of his "Wrath", resurecting to kill every god and save his daughter, even at their max power, and becoming even more powerful every time he get killed again, to the point that the role of "god" becomes irrelevant compared to his power and gods start to sh*t themselves. Also, I find it really funny at 46:28 Krillin: We've been preparing to fight and get into a planetary war against. Bulma told me they made Gundams, giangantic humanoid robots and they can blow up planets with an atomic la- Dende: Wow, you did not even tried to talk to him. Does all humans eliminate depressed people instead of helping them. He need a therapist.
Kami sees darkness within Goku? what inner darkness? "Being pure of heart is the one criteria for riding the Flying Nimbus" first time hearing about this "storyline" just curious how that part is handled
This was unexpectedly really good! Where the concept at first seemed really out there, what sold me on it was seeing the effects that kami had on Goku throughout the series. Goku was betrayed so heavily, and became the very monster kami feared because of his own fear itself.
Knowing Goku he probably wouldn't have even cared he was trapped in there, especially when he discovered super saiyan and then all the next forms. I think it is accurate he would be way more hyped for a fight than normal when he got out though. He would give up everything to truly test his new power Goku's not human, to a saiyan fighting means more than even social contact. It'd be like a human trapped in a normal prison for 30 years. Yeah they're not gonna be super mentally healthy but their basic human needs and social contact are been met so they won't be deranged. I think because Goku got to freely train he'd be happy enough.

Been able to reach super saiyan levels doesn't have a whole lot to do with base form power levels. This ssj2 Goku isn't as strong as the main series Goku. Also a namekian who fuses with every other namekian on the planet fights in the tournament of power so yeah he's gonna need that against Nail. The only reason Nail doesn't do this in the main series is because all the Namekians are killed.

I rarely watch these types of stories all the way through especially when they are over a half hour. I was completely immersed into this. Wondering what happens next . I couldn't stop listening. And it felt like it was over too fast
eughh I mean c'mon, even IF Goku was betrayed by Kami, hes not going evil. I mean, even after everything Frieza did, he still tried to spare him. Goku simply doesnt have an "evil" side, hes the embodiment of purity, innocence and good. I respect the imagination and work you put into this video though
I don't know what you've been watching till now but Goku never truly turned evil, he just turned a blind eye to things happening except for things that caught his eye, like higher power levels to challenge him. If he truly turned evil, he should have killed all the Z-fighters and destroyed the Earth just out of spite. Comparing what Frieza did to what Kami did in this scenario is totally irrelevant and dumb tbh. Imagine getting betrayed by someone you trust, getting locked up in prison for 30 years for no reason, losing almost half your life giving in to lunacy and compare that to what Frieza did, blowing up your friend who can be revived later with the dragon balls. Whatever Goku did here, is nothing to what he went through. In-fact Goku was saintly enough to leave them alone despite the fact that no-one really empathised with him till the very end. I think this what-if depicts what Goku truly is, even without morals - a guy who just likes to fight.
I rlly enjoy this type of what if coz it’s so out there but I feel like everyone overlooks how u still age in the time chamber how u would normally, meaning if goku lived to 100 he could only spend 2-3 months of normal world time in the HTC before he dies of old age, let alone spending the usual 40ish years outside the time chamber, I mean think 40 outside years equals 14,600 years in the HTC haha. Besides that little plot hole rlly good stuff, keep it up smug :)
14600 years does seem like a lot for him to live. but it has been said that saiyans stay in the prime of there life and live much longer then humans so it’s still semi plausible that goku could survive but yea definitely a stretch.
He only spent 1 month in the time chamber in this story which equates to 30 years his time. The biggest time skip is after he beats Picollo and then just spends 5 or however many real world years training on earth until Raditz shows up
I feel like there's only one issue: Saiyans get stronger every time they have a near death experience - Super Saiyan Dragon Ball Goku won't be *that* strong
How did freeza know about the dragonballs in namek . He couldn’t have overheard it from the saiyans scouters because they all blew up before vegeta mentioned it

This Perfect Cell was different. He was around Buu level due to the fact of absorbing one more Android.

I rarely watch these types of stories all the way through especially when they are over a half hour. I was completely immersed into this. Wondering what happens next . I couldn't stop listening. And it felt like it was over too fast

eughh I mean c'mon, even IF Goku was betrayed by Kami, hes not going evil. I mean, even after everything Frieza did, he still tried to spare him. Goku simply doesnt have an "evil" side, hes the embodiment of purity, innocence and good.

I don't know what you've been watching till now but Goku never truly turned evil, he just turned a blind eye to things happening except for things that caught his eye, like higher power levels to challenge him. If he truly turned evil, he should have killed all the Z-fighters and destroyed the Earth just out of spite.
Comparing what Frieza did to what Kami did in this scenario is totally irrelevant and dumb tbh. Imagine getting betrayed by someone you trust, getting locked up in prison for 30 years for no reason, losing almost half your life giving in to lunacy and compare that to what Frieza did, blowing up your friend who can be revived later with the dragon balls. Whatever Goku did here, is nothing to what he went through. In-fact Goku was saintly enough to leave them alone despite the fact that no-one really empathised with him till the very end.
I think this what-if depicts what Goku truly is, even without morals - a guy who just likes to fight.
The biggest change is honestly just Raddish being a good brother

I rlly enjoy this type of what if coz it’s so out there but I feel like everyone overlooks how u still age in the time chamber how u would normally, meaning if goku lived to 100 he could only spend 2-3 months of normal world time in the HTC before he dies of old age, let alone spending the usual 40ish years outside the time chamber, I mean think 40 outside years equals 14,600 years in the HTC haha. Besides that little plot hole rlly good stuff, keep it up smug :)
14600 years does seem like a lot for him to live. but it has been said that saiyans stay in the prime of there life and live much longer then humans so it’s still semi plausible that goku could survive but yea definitely a stretch.
He only spent 1 month in the time chamber in this story which equates to 30 years his time. The biggest time skip is after he beats Picollo and then just spends 5 or however many real world years training on earth until Raditz shows up

i love this turn in the timeline. I think goku here has more depth to his character than the one that is canon
I feel like there's only one issue: Saiyans get stronger every time they have a near death experience - Super Saiyan Dragon Ball Goku won't be *that* strong
