A chat with Mr.Bishop’s class; they came up with some great questions! Check out Mr.Bishop’s channel @MrBishop3 #tentaoutdoors #alanalone #aloneseason10 #alantenta
Lance S. here. Glad to see you haven't lost your genuine nature Al. Congratulations on the big win and being a such positive influence to kids with interviews like this.
Can I redo 4th grade just to have you as a teacher? I think you teach high school, but you are great with these kids. Your wife was absolutely lovely, by the way. She revealed so much about herself, in the way she reacted to seeing you, on that last day - the way she commented on your eyes; the way you were so comfortable with her, and her attentiveness, and curiosity; she just seems like a lovely human being, what a catch... She really “gets” you. Bet she is a great Mom, too.
P.S. I was a fine arts professor for 18 years until I quit in protest of corruption, in 2018. I had lots of fun with my students as well. No matter the age, the connection you have with people, is what makes a great teacher. I genuinely felt privileged to get to know so many different, fascinating human beings so well, during my time teaching. We laughed a lot. I miss them. You are an amazing, very natural teacher. What a gift to the world. -a pragmatic artist from Seattle
Can you do a video explaining, this is more of an urban winter prepper question, but if the electrical grid went down and there was no access to natural gas to keep your house warm in the winter for an extended period of time, how would you survive assuming you cannot flee the area?
This is awesome!!! My wife is a school teacher and it really helps me connect and understand how wonderful this is for those students. They asked great questions. You are a true inspiration. Good luck in your future endeavors! I really hope you grow this channel huge and we can enjoy your adventures along the way.
How do they decide the order of med checks? Do they check everyone and what order? Gets important near the end. Imagine Wyatt stays and they med check you both could be very important where they go first!
Great question, but I don’t know the answer. They said I wasn’t in danger of being pulled on day 66, but would have increased my med checks if the game went on.
I have never eaten too much fish; I release most of them. But I do love breaded, deep fried walleye. As I got hungrier on the show, I really started to enjoy the smoked lake trout with the skin-it added a chewy texture and wonderful smokey flavour. Hard to say, but some of my fish meals on Alone would be hard to beat….
@tentaoutdoors thanks for sharing, and congrats on your retirement! When you have a chance, let us know which sleeping bag you had so we don't suffer the same chilly fate! 😂 🥶
Thanks! Just taking a year off to explore some different options. I don’t want to slam the company because they gave me a full refund…I think that model is discontinued anyways.
Alan is the type of guy who you can tell genuinely likes kids, and relates to them. The world needs more teachers like Alan
Thanks for the awesome comment!

When you eat fish now which do you prefer? Cooked on alone by you or fish out or at home?

Do you teach outdoor skills at all? (Apart from your videos, I mean.)
I have been teaching outdoor education at the high school since 2016. Taking a year off.
@tentaoutdoors thanks for sharing, and congrats on your retirement!

Fair enough - glad they at least acknowledged your issue - that's a good sign! 👍
Great interview!
Once you said you were retiring it made me think of a question. Are you going to miss teaching kids in the classroom?
Thanks! Yes, I will miss teaching, but will continue to teach in other venues. One thing I won’t miss is marking!
Wow good work Alan
👍
