I love these games from this dev.
For me, the scariest part was not closing your car door and leaving it wide open, while you went inside and drank coffee. I was having an anxiety attack.
Stuff like that gives me anxiety too, I have a huge fear of seeing creepy things in the back seat.
Never come to Canada. I don't think your heart could survive after witnessing the amount of cars left unattended with unlocked doors and/or keys still in the ignition and/or windows rolled down, in shopping mall parking lots! :P
I personally take more offense to that because it's a 1980s Station Wagon. Please, protect the Station Wagons.
*I'm half-kidding, don't take the above section so seriously.* That just happens to be the generation of a family car that I grew up in, and it's a very comfortable car to sit in and ride along in. I own one, but a Mercury version.
What, it's not as if some demonic entity is gonna use them anyways.
If I can't stop one from getting into my car with a door, then why the hell do I even have the door in the first place?!
Do Jeeps with their doors removed absolutely terrify you? lol
The fact that no matter where you approach from, the cafe is always on the right of the road is deeply unsettling to me for some reason.
Like the universe itself has its door open and waiting just for you.
24:12 I like how the option to report the accident to the sheriff was still on the table while the sheriff was being eaten
Yeah, I guess I coulda shouted it to him out the window as I drove by!
@@AlphaBetaGamer "What?? A Roman had a flaccid gent? I can't hear you with that monster eating me! You have to come closer!"
@@AntipaladinPedigri they have medication to treat your flaccid gent.
Security first 😆
I like to think the dialogue's temporary switch to 'we' after picking up the hitchhiker ghost thing was the protagonist just accepting his new buddy as invisible but still around.
I appreciate the the detail they put into the car with the bottom trim being covered in rust. Also how after the alternator goes bad the lights and dash dim and then quickly flicker back on; the same thing happened to me.
But forgetting that the only purpose of an alternator is to maintain the battery's charge and that if the car stopped, it was because the battery was drained as a consequence to the alternator breaking down.
So he would've needed a new alternator, probably a new strap and a new car battery (or something to recharge his dead one).
Which begs the question: why not just said the battery was dead instead? Way easier to find and install, more common and it doesn't involve any other components!
Ohh so this is what my grandparents went through on their way to pick my dad up from late night practice.
Misses the part where they had to cross a single rope suspended over a chasm while hanging head down.
ABG really testing the meaning of Drive Thru coffee as he purposely rams the car straight into the coffee shop!
And the fact that there is NO coffee on the menu, NO item that costs 66.66$ and that the price is still displayed on the cash register even after you payed for the coffee, implies that 66.66$ is the actual price for a cup of coffee! Therefore the meaning of "Expensive as Hell" has never been more appropriate.
"Oh, i can have a coffee here"
*Driver's straight to the front of the store*
Give him a break, there's just one letter of difference between store front and storm front, and he hasn't had his coffee yet.
It's crazy to think all of this shit comes from the story of a goddamn interdimensional haunted ghost fridge.
26:48 Schreiendeburg means Screaming burg in German but it can also be a pun on an ending with a scream or meeting your fate with a scream.
Roteseisburg means Red ice burg in German. Obviously referring to bloodstained ice/snow.
lol just breaking into a barn to steal an alternator
That pun at the end saves it. The story of this game was all over the place.
Wait, what pun?
@@flaetsbnort ABG's pun on the outro screen.
I have been watching your videos for over a year and just want to thank you for these. They are a nice and relaxing end to an otherwise stressful day, and you manage to show personality without voice.
Thank you very much! Glad you like the vids! :)
10:50 guy: *arrives at a farm seeking help* *immediately thinks about breaking into a barn*
Can you imagine living in a world with video game protagonists? They'd just take your car or your stuff, or waltz into your house, or blow something up while you're on your way to work. It's a good thing we don't live like that.
@@DemstarAus the hero "acquired" your wallet to score with his loved one. Somehow the fate of the world depended on them doing the badonkadonk.
Dude why are u keep spamming with comments
Every time the screen transitions to black when you do something I half expect the Final Fantasy 7 resting jingle to play. It looks like you're closing your eyes to sleep.
Lol, the robot voice overs make it even more scarier. I love driving mechanics. They remind me old truck games, where you had to drive long distances to sell stuff.
Dead End Road is one of my favorite ABG uploads, so driving horror games have tough competition.
I appreciate how ABG's first reaction to seeing a gas station is to drive straight through the front door.
0:40 the real horror is ABG's driving. He's playing for both teams: right lane and wrong lane.
Lmao, you really think driving in snowy roads is easy??
@@axelcoder3352 there is a section where ABG purposefully drove in the middle of the road straight for an extended period of time, so yes.
@@AntipaladinPedigri umm, maybe because the road is empty and slippery. So driving more towards the left or right lane might make your vehicle go off-road, better driving in the middle. Thought about that??
@@axelcoder3352 you are seriously going to imply real life physics in a game where protag rammed glass door at full speed and it didn't shatter...
Based.
I love these red fridge games! I have to say the scene with that thing attacking the cop with the red and blue flashing lights changing the color of the blood and the scenery was masterful! 👍👍👍
Is it me or did the layout of the road and the location of the café completely changed when he made the U-turn when the train blocked the road?!
It kind of reminded me of In The Mouth of Madness when the guy tries to get out of Hobb's End!
The gas station was jumping all over the place.
My thoughts also! Glad to see someone else who enjoyed that film too!
Hi! Yeah the roads change and every time you approach the café it's always on the right side of the road. It seems like a clever way to make the player feel disorientated and lost.
@@AlphaBetaGamer Welcome to Cafe California. You can use the toilet as much as you want but you can never leave
ABG has this weird bad habit - leaving the door wide open, be it an apartment door or a car door! Always gives me anxiety! 😑
I hate that this channel doesn't get as many views now, it's incredible every time!
Eh, I think there's just a bit of a dry spell in terms of games that are both very popular and the kind that ABG covers. It's a shame either way, but there's reason to believe it'll get better. There Is No Light is definitely the most popular thing covered in a while and it's not exactly a blockbuster.
Many of ABG"s videos don't have even 50,000 views. The channel has 545k subscribers now, and the channel's more niche, showing games that a lot of people won't have interest in. That's just the nature of this one.
@@MopedOfJusticewhat does dry spell in this context mean?
I liked this one. Just your average robot man trying to get to Rotisserie Chicken Burg in his old station wagon during a surreal blizzard, dodging rednecks and tactfully ignoring those extortionate diner prices.
Gasp, NOT WASHING YOUR HANDS???
You deserve everything that's gonna happen to you >:o
"You can fill up as much as you need"
ABG: *fills up toilet and doesn't flush*
@@AntipaladinPedigri Haha.
Never thought I would ever enjoy a game with weird text-to-speech voice acting.
8:33 dude is pretty chill about the scenery not changing in his rearview mirror like he was trapped in some 3D game where the scenery behind the invisible wall is just a flat, static texture.
The true horror here is that he didn't wash his hands after the bathroom.
Alternator dies
Still able to drive the distance back to gas station.
Mmm ok then
0:56 a yes, that's a classic episode from the Star Trek series: Port-a-Potty me, Scotty.
I watch your videos with my little brother and they’re always a joy! No offense to a lot of the let’s players out there, but there is something therapeutic and fun about watching a horror game without the over the top screams and commentary. Your play style is so entertaining and even humorous somehow without a single word! I’ll always be a fan
Absolutely love the channel.
Please keep uploading amazing and unique games in this era of stale and dry gaming.
the colours are really beautifully graded in this one, a pleasure to watch
These first person horror games are really starting to blend together for me. Hard to tell them apart.
And reality is also looking like that. Games are becoming reality.
Fun facts: Roteiseburg means something like "red iron castle" and Schreiendeburg means "screaming castle", it's roughly German
For me, the scariest part is driving a light blue station wagon with brick red interior 🫣
This game was great with the scariest creature I've seen in a while. 👍🏻😊
The way it moved and its' green light.
local driver attacked by forest scrumblus
I had to chuckle when you crashed into the cafe lol
Pretty different and fun to play....😉💯👍
Love your content ABG. Also I hope you do another scary Japanese game or forest-type game, those are my favorite!
Terry A. Davis: "Those CIA zombies glow in the dark, but you can hit them with your car at night."
Yes, yes. I know. I have a dark raunchy sense of humor. I get flak for it all the time.
i really like how the snow and dim headlights make the sign flash by you almost too quickly to read
very curious about the driving horror game niche
Winter Driving Simulator. Blasting through the back roads going 70mph is quite a feat considering the road conditions and a rear wheel drive car. 1:52 Now that's one way to make an entrance by crashing into the doors. Such savagery...not washing your hands after using the bathroom. "Maybe the monster is friendly", dies immediately.
I can see this game took inspiration from the 11 miles creepypasta.
- Oh, here I can have a coffee 😀
(Proceeds to crash his car into the cafe)
Not gonna wash those hands, huh? 🤨
Also, how is the Cafe always on the right side of the road no matter which direction you approach from? I’m beginning to think something is not quite right…
Oh, and you’re just gonna steal the alternator(generator?)? Dude, you’re a menace! 😆
Havent seen anyone talking about it so I thought id ask. Is the ending implying that the character actually is the one that went off the road when the fridge fell and crashed which killed his daughter? And that everything that happened in the game was just all in his head or him driving away to cope with it and not realizing his daughter was dead?
"We'll have to Walk from here" instead of "I" he use "we" I guess he was talking to that thing on passenger seat
Too scary for Frozen food from the red fridge
Coverage has been really good. Any special games set aside for halloween?
The engine effect and the car bonk sound both are very similar to those sounds from Operation Flashpoint
So... he's risking his life for a coffee or something? ^^; Interesting start. :p
1:51 bump!
😄
The farm was soooo unsettling
2:35 "hello vinisauces look-alike"
Oh look, it's my cousin.
This game screams PilotRedSun's work.
I love this graphics
Dude were you raised in a barn? You keep leaving the door open when you go to the bathroom.
6:58 ...Boom? 💥
watching the beginning like 30 seconds of gameplay and 100% waiting for you to crash immediately into a tree either says something about my humor, my horrible assumptions i make about you, or its your humor.
This one was fun lol
Lol I thought the town was called ‘rotisserieburg’
I dig the way it looks like in the day time. also is this a prequel to the red fridge game?
👏👏👏👍
Scary night
I'm trying to find a horror game where you're driving in a car. It's like PS3 type graphics and this guy is telling you about an arcade machine that children shouldn't be allowed to play. Something about a clown killer or something, and the clown soon shows up in your rear-view mirror, idk what it was
His car has 1 gear.
I guess I'm lucky, I have just finished watching the coofin game and I see that ABG already uploaded another video.
1:54 Yes, that was clearly a Drive-in joint
Alpha,that is excellent doone! 😈
This reminds me of that one driving horror game you played that was kind of like a rogue lite. Forgot the name though
End road?
@@capscaps04 dead end road, yep that's the one
Yeah, Dead End Road! I think I might make a playlist of driving horror games. I've played a quite a few of them now! :)
@@digital107-_- I still have it. And I still play it sometimes.
What horror game developers with unique art style do we have?
5WORD Team
Puppet Combo
Chilla's Art
Good question! Some that I can think of are:
Enigma Studio (The Mothered series)
Modus Interactive (Iketsuki & the original Siren Head game)
and Bryce Butcher (Fatum Betula & Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia)
@@AlphaBetaGamer Thanks, that's a good list.
Can anyone remember a game that's based on south east asian folklore; the opening sequence is in a graveyard and there's a giant lady floating in the dark.
the pen is blue
👍
Mimic abg 0:03
Ngl they sound like Tomodachi Life miis.
Anyone know the program being used for the voices?
I suspect it's a Microsoft Sam TTS generator (same as FAITH)
CAN U GUYS EXPLAIN THE ENDING?
PLS
So was the driver the ghost? I'm confused
First red fridge.
Last red fridge.
5:18 did they steal your back door while you were in that cafe? 0.o
Did someone stole your brain while you were spamming in the comment section?
@@nishantshade668 yes, the same person that stole your sense of humor
Cant have shit in detroit
@@AntipaladinPedigri yeah, can understand you lost your brain when you think spamming unecessarily is equal to comedy. Get well soon, buddy.
@@nishantshade668 still better than thinking posting mannerless comments to strangers online is cool and badass. You will never be as cool as Deadpool in your avatar. You are just a rando with a lot to compensate for.
So, what's the story? What really happened?
Cozier channel doesnt exit
22:21 What a low quality game. Ffs.
Lol at least try to drive
I did not get it.
VHS filter doesn't make the game look cool as you think. I think it's pretty unecessary and irrelevant. The only game VHS effect looks cool as far as i know is Hotline Miami. It really fits the tone of that game. Secondly why did they make the voiceovers with a voice generator? I don't think t's necessary either. Other than that i think the idea of the game is cool. It has a creepy atmosphere as intended. I guess this roadtrip games became a trend these days and the developer of this game wanted to add a horror element to that formula
Edit: Another thing that bugs me in the game. Highlight effects. Why do you highlight doors and NPCs? It is obvious that you can interact with them. If it's a visual artistic choice, that's pretty redundant in my opinion
Beware.
Third
Kinda boring, sorry. It has a cool atmosphere at some parts, though.
