I’m glad platforms are giving players a chance to talk because when they play bad they’re so many things that are going on in their head and off the court and us fans don’t get it😊
Someone who watches every bull's game: Lavine and Coby would never pass Lauri the ball even if he was open. Lauri had such a promising rookie season. Then Lavine came in...... Now he actually gets the ball and mike Conley is having career high in assists bc he actually knows how to play with others.
To be fair, a lot of times fans don’t give players a chance
@@michaelwashington9388 too busy trying troll other fans
Lauri’s face when JJ even starts is priceless😂😂 he already knew😂
Huge bulls fan, really glad to see Lauri balling, always knew he had it in him
Same here
fr im happy for him
Me too.

Didn't they arrive together as part of the Butler trade? Lavine was injured the first half of that season but just looking at the stats i dont see a big difference.
😂🤦🏻♂️ Lauri completely digressed after a good rookie year. Yes the management and team was in shambles but that’s isn’t a excuse to not grow your game and get better especially with the opportunity on a team that has nothing to lose. 🤷🏻♂️😅
If yall want to get technical, Lauri was in a Bulls uniform for 4 seasons, but actually played less than 3 full season. He averaged 50 games per season his last 3 years in Chicago. Only Anthony Davis can get away with that.
Because he wasn't effective. I always thought Lauri had potential like he's showing now. Literally would say "the second we trade Lauri he's going to go on to be an all star". The other players weren't the problem...it was how the coaches used him. They basically used him as a stretch 4, stick him at the 3 point line for spacing reasons, never let him drive to the hoop or catch the ball on the elbows. By not utilizing his other skills he started to regress as a shooter too. So when the team is forcing you to be just a shooter, and you're missing a lot of shots, you're not going to get the ball. Lauri was even telling everyone he wasn't being used correctly. He'd say it in the press, he would bring it up every off season, but instead of giving him a chance to prove he's right everyone just rolled their eyes. All while calling him soft...even though he was desperately trying to open up his game that would show he wasn't. He needed the opportunity he has now, to be the number one option. He wasn't going to get that opportunity in Chicago or Cleveland, so it's good he is getting it now. Now in the future if he ends up being a 2nd or 3rd option again he has tape he can point to that will prove he's much better utilized when he's not just a stretch 4.
Lavine was and still is horrible player, bulls will never win chip with him
It's disgusting what they did to coach Fred Hoiberg... You hire a coach known for his offensive schemes/mind. Then you surround him with Old Rondo, Old Wade, & Jimmy Butler..worst shooting trio ever..
Then eventually fire him as if he was in the wrong.

@Demar I hear it Demar I like it Kris Dunn? Really?
@@tommystizzle6560 if you watched the games dunn had potential in chitown.
Boyle and Hoiberg aren’t NBA Level coaches.
@@drew8947 no he didn't lmao he was always hurt.
If I remember the starters only played the first half, thus helping the Celtics win by 56. Boylen then punishes the players by scheduling a tough practice after a back to back. Good stuff
Thus helping??? Nah the Bulls just shitty 😂😂😂
Take the starters out and you are left with a full roster of NBA players. The starters would have put in the majority of minutes during the first game, right? So EVERYONE ELSE would be ready to go and could play with much higher minutes. To get blown out by 56 means they should all lose their jobs. Those are all NBA players you are talking about. It is not like those players had just put in 40 minutes the day before and were now asked to put in another 40 and got blown out. Why are you making excuses for millionaires that showed they do not deserve to be in the end. If I was the team owner I am trading virtually everyone involved with that blowout loss. That is unacceptable. PERIOD.
@@Wodz30 ok Boylen
@@Wodz30 Idk if you follow the bulls (doesn't sound like it) but that team was awful, especially the bench. Combine that with the worst coach in franchise history and you get what happened.
The Kings were clowning on the Bulls. One player did pushups right in front of Boylen and another player after the game mocked their 3 hour practices.
The dude provided so much content unintentionally, I hope another team picks him up.
@@Wodz30 lmao Jim stay off the internet bro. Especially CZcams this is not the place for you 😂
As a Bulls fan, the Boylen/GarPax era was the only time in my life that I genuinely didn't want to watch Bulls games.
And some bulls fans hate this guy because they say he's a bust but they didn't understand that Jim Boylen f'd his development. Then these bulls fans are singing the same tune towards pat williams. 😂
Yea because if you remember he had a pretty good rookie year
Nope. Real bulls fans (like me) knows that the problem is Jim Boylen not the players. I'm still a fan of Lauri and Wendell lol.
on my CZcams channel i do food reviews while I’m super high 😈😮
yeah lol idt he really knows any Bulls fans😂but Jim isn’t totally to blame Luari was playing soft a lot of the time 🤷🏾♂️
And wym People have been patient with Pat he’s still young.
I always liked Lauri, even if he was a real bad case of 'wrong place, wrong time'. Glad to see him doing well in Utah.
i was at that game when they loss by 56 against the celtics. was pretty hyped until the game started
I'm sorry
Hey you got to witness a historic Boylen nightmare.
Been watching him since college got to see him play in person, I’m so happy for his success rn I hope he keeps it up well deserved and great guy
He scored almost 19 ppg in his second season. He was on a solid tragectory even with coaches who didn't know how to use him. It's sad that we let someone like that walk. In the course of the last three years we've a few former Bulls playing significantly better for other franchises (Lauri, Wendell, Cameron Payne, etc.).
As a Cavs fan so happy for Lauri's huge jump in play and huge success.
Great interview as always. As a Bulls fan, I say this with all the love in my heart, but I think that not caring if you score is incredible advice for any young player, but Patrick Williams needs to hear that. He has so much talent just seems in his head at times. I’m excited to see how he continues to develop
I knew in real time that Lauri was being mismanaged on the Bulls, and hearing this it's just like wow he never had a chance.
How can you mismanage someone who averaged 55 games over 4 seasons??? HE MISSED A FULL SEASON WITH THE BULLS ESSENTIALLY.
Bruh he probably was injured all the time because they were practicing them too hard lmao
@@zhuber you can try that as much as you would like. Boylen only coached the bulls for 126 games. So it was nobody but Lauri getting hurt. Only played 50 games first year with Billy.
@@shaungarrett5291disfunctional organization
@@shaungarrett5291 Part of the blame for the injuries can be placed on the coaching though. He was pushed to bulk up and gain weight, which led to him being more easily injured because it was the wrong kind of muscle he was putting on. He has now had a different training regime, is lighter with stronger legs, which helps prevent those injuries.
Jim Boylen messed up whatever potential that team had. He messed up Wendell Carter and Coby Whites development as well cause he wanted everyone to fit into his vision of what they should be as opposed to figuring out how to make the best use of their skillset. The coach and team system you come into the league with is so important
Crazy how Wendell carter , Lauri ,Bobby Portis all developed once they left the bulls smh now we gotta be patient with pat will or else he gonna start balling with another team 😂
Same will happen with Patrick Williams
Ayy they got Markkanen on! The pride of Finland in the NBA keep reppin well big fella🇫🇮
Shout out J.J redick for caring about Chicago bulls basketball 🏀
....?
If you stuck through the Hoiberg/Boylen era, you’re a real Bulls fan
the legendary egghead jim boylen
I seriously blocked that time out of my mind.
MORE BOYLEN CONTENT. I'm obsessed with Bolyen's Chicago coaching tenure.
Club Going Up on a Tuesday! I love Markkanen!
JJ, I’m a Celtics fan and would love to hear you talk to max Strus, his story would be cool to hear.
another boylen project he fucked up on
JJ is the best man.
I just realized how good lauris accent is. I thought he was foreign
He’s from Finland

The thing I like Lauri his so humble person👍
Most Improved Player of the Year!
Still can not believe Minnesota traded Lauri, Lavine, and Nunn for one season of Butler. Lmao. What a blunder.
JJ, if you are interviewing a player, and you are three, doesnt It make sense to give him half the screen space instead of taking It for yourself? Just saying
it doesn’t matter lmao
I thought he would have a very heavy european accent really surprised how good his english is
Dude I thought the exact same thing.
Pretty sure he played for a US college
As a bulls fan I loved Lauri’s game, I still have his jersey. But he made the right move to leave the franchise. A lot of pressure being on the bulls with horrible coaching. I’m glad he’s doing better with the jazz
Agree. Lauri got out, and got a new start. Well done Lauri Bird.
I remember The Bulls players hated Boyland lol😂😂😂
I love Lauri the person and Lauri the player😊
Bulls coaching staff at that time definitely wasted him, but glad to see him doing good now
The pride of Finland 🇫🇮
This guy would fit so well with the Warriors.
Jim Boylen came in like Coach Norman Dale. 😂
He gave them that "Yo blockers? Yo blockers not the one droppin the football. How many feet in a mile?"
Coach Norman Dale knew basketball and how to coach . Boylan is the worst head coach in nba history.
Insight 🎉
Will this happen to J.Kidd of Mavs?
Jim thinks he’s coaching high school basketball playing his favorite player that ain’t good that the better player 🤣
Bulls had Boylen and Boylan as coach at various points.
did jj ever reply to jerry west completely bodying him??
It sounds like he doesn’t even understand why it happened. He just went along with it because everyone else did
Bulls version of the classic novel "Mutany at the Boudy"
GOAT
Been a Bulls fan since the Jordan years, but it's been ROUGH since Thibs left.
Respect.
You missed the Scott Skiles Era!
Lauri described the Chicago Bulls fandom perfectly. Bulls Coby White, and Patrick Williams is currently going through what the Bulls put Lauri through. By their 3rd or 4th yr either they're labeled a bust, trade bait, or the next MJ. There's no gray area.
Damn I ain’t know his English was this good
Lauri was always a great talent we just didn’t use him correctly I regret how we treated him I always like lauri on the court he was a bucket
Bro looks like handsome squidward
Anyone else really surprised by his voice? You can barely even tell that he isn't American. Pretty wild for a guy who grew up in Finland.
Bro i remember lauri being that promising bigman then he kinda stay in the same area he has but what do you know its coaching thats messed up not the playrr
Boylen set our young guys back so much smh
As bulls fan I miss lauri in red
Boylen is a completely baffling story of failing upwards. He was a disaster of a coach at the University of Utah--he ran that program straight into the ground, to such an extent that it still hasn't totally recovered. Then, after the U fired him, he somehow conned his way into assistant jobs with the Pacers, Spurs, and Bulls and got Hoiberg's job when he was fired. Boylen had zero business being an assistant in the NBA, let alone a HC. What he ever did to convince anyone he deserved those jobs is beyond me.
Being assistant or the leader are two different worlds. I am sure pop would have not watched him in Spurs if he was a complete clown as an assistant.
Vucavic going thru this now
mad about practice? how’d they get there?
As a bulls fan, I'm scared to watch this video. 😂
And now he is Lauri Bird, All-Star dude.
ooooh i like that 😏
People trash Jimbo for his faults, but he was right about alot of stuff with this roster, and if the guys had just bought in back then they wouldn't be haven the issues they face today,Namely Zach with his no effort Defense of late.
WCJ shouldn't have been shooting 3s.we saw first hand that WCJ was trash on the Perimeter after Billy got here and before the trade.
Gafford wasn't ready to play.
Coby wasn't a Starter.
The guys were and still are soft as hell and play not a lick of defense since Jimbo left.atleast when Jimbo was the coach they atleast tried to play D.
Now they simply don't give a damn as Billy wont hold them accountable..
Jimbo is a punk and trash he f’d markkanen career
I'm still at a loss as to why JJ is half the screen? I get that he's the vibrant personality, but it's an interview about the player. Shouldn't they be the focus? Just seems weird.
I know JJ and Lauri. WHO IS this third dude here?
Tommy Alter.
As a life long Bulls supporter I can firmly say that the upper management and coaching staff is the problem
Boylen was the biggest clown that ever coached an NBA team. I remember him refuse to call a timeout when one of his players was crying with an injury on the game.
This was a great interview. I hope people realize how much of a tyrant Jim Boylen is. He most likely will NEVER coach in the NBA ever again.
I don’t even know if he is an assistant anymore, usually you can find ex-head coaches throughout the league on someone’s staff but I haven’t heard anything. One of the worst coaches I have seen in my short life.
Lauri lowkey getting a southern drawl in his interviews
Bulls could havd WCJ and Markanen as front court.
Thought this guy could be a Luka type of player from Europe during his stint with the Bulls.
The Finnisher!! (That is a name Stacey King gave him when he was in Chicago, I heard the Jazz commentators using it and not giving proper credit!!)) .. He would be so perfect for the Bulls offense right now.. Him in Utah is a result of Bad coaching and bad understandings by coaches of how to put players in positions to grow, this hunts the Bulls even today, now with PWill..
It would be silly to credit someone who gave Lauri his nickname everytime they mention it. Even once a game would be unusual.
@@SiopaoSauc3 It was silly when I heard them say it as if they coined it... That was silly and odd. Make up your own nickname or give that man credit.
💪Finland💪
Bulls also had that other Coach before that didn’t believe in headbands lol weirddd
The Bulls always get rid of players they should of kept hope the new front office knows the history of that and will do something different
I’m glad he’s having success now. Jim Boyle was the worst thing to ever happen to the bulls.
front office and coaching is to blame. nothing else. players were fine.
Lauri stayed hurt in Chicago.
@@shaungarrett5291 he played over 50 games each season on the bulls.
@@MrEverythingg he was with the bulls 4 seasons. 68, 52, 50, and 51 games. Meaning he missed a full season in 4 seasons with the Bulls. Playing 50 games is terrible. That's a little above half the season. You don't want that from your players.
So let me get this straight… they gathered outside in the parking lot, and then AFTER practice had already started, someone learned that practicing after a back to back wasn’t against union bylaws?!🤷♂️🤣 Seems like the kinda thing someone should have simply made a phone call on, BEFORE HAND 🤦♂️ Sounds to me more like they knew they weren’t going to practice in the first place(because they were tired of the coaches antics), and the Union angle was just an excuse, that bottomed out on em and left them hangin out in the cold 🥶 Well at least they had each other 😂
Is it just me or I just don’t get what he’s saying and what the mutiny was about
The players wanted to take a stand against the coach but got cold feet when it came to it.
Never heard Markkenan speak. Lmao. Glad this dude is balling out in Utah. Been disrespected in his career for no reason. 🤣🤣
Remember, Bulls fans be mad at Jim Boylen not Lauri. Jim Boylen was such a bad coach that Lauri legit gave up millions of dollars to go to Cavs for a fresh start.
There's a whole compilation on CZcams called " Jim Boylen is a clown"
Happy Lauri’s potential is coming out. Chicago screwed him.
yoooooooooooooooooooooo
L.M DID A HORRIBLE JOB EXPLAINING THE MUTINY SITUATION. I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.. 😆 😆
I’m confused, why is no one pushing back on the players? Back to back or not, you got BLOWN OUT in a HISTORIC fashion - get in the gym and practice, all of you
I go to school with boylens daughters
Boylen was a terrible coach at University of Utah also
I don't agree with Markkanen. He had a lot of opportunities with the Bulls and he should be thankful because they drafted him, he shouldn't talk like this. He shows a lot of limits in his Bull's years, both mental and technical.
Honestly, those Jim Boylen practices dont sound that insane lol but his lineups were pretty crazy ngl
You forgot the part where they aren't eighth graders. This is not NBA behavior.
J.j. you lost alot of us about a month ago😶😐😑
He lowkey sounds like Elon Musk
These nba players are such babies
No wonder ratings are down, even TNT is getting out
You lose by 56. You should be practicing.. No sympathy for millionaires playing a game. Theirs a reason why they didn’t win. None of them were willing to do what was necessary. They just want to get paid to show up.
I was at the game they lost by 56 points, I brought a hot chick and my nephews and nieces, 5th row... glad I can say I witnessed the worst loss in history. We all still had a great time and made the best of it.
Who 'da thunk Jim Boylen was an even bigger mess than Jim Boylan?
Players are very soft now, in 90. and 80. this was normal. After loosing home 50 + players needed some punishment
Jim boylen was a joke for the utes well before this debacle……..he would get on the PA system and encourage the crowd to stay loyal to these kids 😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a Bulls fan, Boylen was the worst coach Ive seen. Just an all around jerk that was clueless on how to coach. He shouldnt have lasted as long as he did.
Dude has no accent
