Short and sweet; omni man crushed his head in one second. once he grabbed his face we were seeing red rushes perspective.
3:24 the death is so slow because it's through Red Rush's POV who says a couple minutes earlier that everything he experiences everything vastly slower than everyone else.
Which in turn is fucking terrifying when you realise Red Rush was potentially feeling that shit for hours

I think season 3 being made around the same time as season 2 will probably mean the animation quality will be about the same. At least I think it would be 🤔

it was in slowmo because earlier in the show, Rush said he experiences time vastly faster than everyone else. So much so that seconds feels like hours to him, so basically he felt being crushed for several hours

Here's my two cents: I think there are good qualities in both seasons. Season 1's animation had better/more detailed fight scenes, more emotive facial expressions, and higher highs. Season 2's animation had better lighting, the character models (Mark especially) looked more polished, not as many CGI people, and it never was as bad as S1E4. However, the character models sometimes looked REALLY inconsistently drawn in S2 (Eve particularly imo) and they still dragged PNGs across the screen.
I really don’t understand the inconsistency with this show😭. They should take their time and make each episode at least decent, and not flat and choppy on most episodes. Was all the budget spent on just S1’s first and last episode?!
Red rush's death was in slowmo, that was why it seemed to take so long when it only took a few seconds.

Sandra Oh as Debby is so much fun to watch because she's being written with the depth and nuance and care of a hero character that civilians never get Even the better examples, despite having no powers.
Especially when compared to the comics. Not saying she didn’t get better over time, but Robert Kirkman seems to have used the show as a second chance for his writing of the comics.

BUT! In season 1 they went crazy when Cecil hit Nolan with the laser
And when omni man obliterated the flaxans. And the face animation and character acting is in episode 8, especially with omniman was great. He was a little off model that episode but in a good way
I feel like the reason they had Red Rush's death take so long is LITERALLY the scene before they were talking about how his speedster powers are never "off" and even "a conversation is agony" because they take so long for him. "Real time" from our perspective, Omni-man probably did squish his head in an instant and Red Rush probably landed every one of those blows in that instant, but the show creators purposefully drew it out to slam that point home that his death might be instant from our perspective but from his it took eons for his lights to finally blink out beneath the strength of Omni-Man''s crushing grip. But it also slams it home that Omni-Man KNOWS what he's doing and KNOWS Red Rush is suffering, he just doesn't care. He doesn't feel ANYTHING giving this man one of the worst death's imaginable, having your head crushed in an agonizingly slow way in a vice until you brain finally pops.

At the end of the day, they only have so much time and budget, and I personally think they allocated it quite smartly. I don't care how it looks in a particular frame or a single isolated clip - if it portrays the right feeling and communicates the necessary information when viewed as a whole, they've succeeded.
I also take particular issue with the flying criticisms; if you're in freefall, there's no gravity, and you'd be weightless anyway. What are they supposed to do, wave their arm the whole time? They used a lot of animation budget in the establishing flying scenes, and they know that unless we're looking for it, our mind will fill in the details for us, so they focused their attention on more important, closeup moments.
To me, it looks like the average viewer found out how the sausage was made and decided that the most logical option was to swear off sausages forever. Just enjoy the show and stop being so sniffy, istg.

The slow motion of red rushs death is supposed to represent how slow things sre for him since everything moves so slow for him so omni man taking forever to squash bros head was red rushs POV while everyone else saw red rush die in a instant.

They spent most of their time on the gore and fight scenes. In season two, they started doing more of everything else.

I felt like it was alright but it's definitely gotten better over the course of the seasons
3:26 is from red rush's perspective. thats why the punches seem so slow. red rush like the flash has incredible speed physically and mentally. it kind of is a necessity for speedsters. The immortal and omniman as well as other viltrumites for that matter don't have the same bullet time like vision otherwise red rush would not have been able to keep moving guardians out of the way from nolan's attacks. if nolan COULD have that slowed down perspective relative to his own speed he would have killed the entirety of the guardians before anyone besides red rush landed a hit.

Instead of it all happening at once. I dont really know what youre talking about with the suspense thing as if it was bad. Sure its illogical if you think about it (like every single other thing in the show) but it served beautifully in making the sequence as convincing and good as it is
This kind of a stretch but maybe you could argue that omni man intentionally wanted to see red rush dying slowly for fun or somethinginstead of simply doing it all at once. But that doesnt really seem like something omni man would do. his intentions were to kill the guardians quickly, so it doesnt make sense why he would purposefully take more time killing someone than he would need to

Pain fight is objectively really really really well animated. From the effects, to the character and background animation, it was all great, but people still clowned on it because "unorthodox movement = bad" and because of that its now made out to be horribly animated. Real sad fact is that the director of the ep and some of the other animators are now working as lesser directors and ka's on unknown animes.

It did only take a second for Onmiman to do that to Red Rush. If you notice in the scene (also in this video), it's played in slow motion, red rush is hitting so fast it looks like normal speed whilst in slow mo.
Last two episodes of S1 were animated phenomenally. The part where Omniman beats the shit out of Mark looks way better than when Mark beat the shit out of Angstrom
My only problem with the new season animation is the faces. Either I can't get over how different they are or they actually feel emotionless at times.

They went away with the bad 3d models, but the animation is still very inconsistent. S1 had terrible shots and amazing shots, S2 shots are all mid to bad. Some scenes are still very laughable (that episode where they joke about bad animation - I'm 80% sure they put that joke in to soften the impact of that episode's actual animation quality). Its especially bad because now they clearly have funding since the show got super popular.

It's because we're seeing it from Red Rush's POV. It would've been excruciating for him, assuming his mind speeds up with his body.
Tbh. I don’t really understand this take. The show virtually looks the exact same. The only differences between seasons is that CGI is used less often for season 2 and Mark has added wrinkle lines under his eyes.
Looking back I felt the previous season had more interesting fights and scenes of animation (Omni man vs the Guardians and Mark). Even though the cgi was definitely unpolished, I felt like there were still well done moments like Omni man killing the Flaxans and Cecil’s weapon being unleashed on Nolan.
My biggest issue with the animation this season is that I don’t feel like it compliments the voice acting. Steven Yuen pours his heart out in his performance yet Mark has the same angry facial expression he has throughout the entire show or purposefully not show his face because they don’t have the time to animate detailed character acting (Mark killing Angstrom).
That’s why I really enjoy Ryan Ottley’s art for Invincible. His art is so detailed and expressive, I never feel bored reading his era of Invincible. If the animation doesn’t improve next season there’s going to be a lot of comparisons being made since the material they’re covering has Ryan’s art reach its peak.
I like Invincible, I really do. But, after reading ahead in the comic and watching X-men ‘97. It really feels like Invincible is lacking in presentation.

I always realized seasons 1 jankynezs and moving pngs when watching i just tried to ignore it, but i realised the improvement a d was waiting for a video comparison!
A lot of the time, the lack of movement of the chin is, yes, to save money, but also because it makes it easier to dub for other languages because it isn't as exact.
The first conquest fight will gauge whether or not the animation has improved between season 2 and 3, its either they do it all or hide it in distance shots lol

Yea, I feel season 1 had choppy animations at times but the animation peaks of s1 are better than the peaks of season 2. I was rewatching a few episodes of season 1 and was amazed at how well animated some scenes were, specifically in the beginning and end of the season. Such as Mark and Eve flying around the city and the satellite laser beam hitting Omni-man. We didn’t really get any moments that stand out like that animation wise in S2.

Honestly i didnt have a big problem with the S1 animation, it was decent, the fights were great and had more time and detail imo. But i'm not huge into anime or have a huge standard on the animation, but i did notice the improvements for S2 and i was happy about them. I do hope we get the kind of level of animation like we had for the S2 trailer, it was more detailed, smooth, and just overall nicer to look at

In my opinion, episode 4 of season 1 was the worst animated wise of this show but it kinda felt like a filler episode which also bored me. I couldn’t take it seriously due to it feeling like it was animated on a cheap budget.

I actually disagree. While season 1 may have had some issues with CG integration not always looking as good compared to season 2’s more hand drawn environments, the actual dynamicness as well as general drawing quality of the fights especially were far worse in comparison. Season 1 was a lot better in the way of compositing in my opinion compared to Season 2 Part 2 (don’t rly have much to say abt part 1 in that sense).
With that being said I think episode 1 of season 2 blows most of the series out of the water visually.

The comics start the same way it's the artist Ryan Ottley's style, where he increases the quality of the art as the story progresses. Just look at invincible issues 1 cover and then look at the final issue 144 cover.

The Animation is better but the colors in the new season (more on mark from what I’ve noticed) are more desaturated, which I preferred the more vibrant colors in the 1st season but the animation is definitely better

I watched Invincible with my family the other day
And the entire first episode my mother seemed pretty bored but when it got to the massacre scene there was just a look of pure horror and dread on her face
I didn't even notice it until my dad quietly signaled me to look in her direction and it took the strength and will of the GODS not to laugh.
