I can see the branches rising as you picking. Tree saying ahhhhh thank you
Omg I was about to come write that! Isn't that so cool. Instant gratification!! 😅
My thought exactly
So true! It’s visibly relaxing!
Right?! I noticed that too!
Hope she can remember to spray the remaining apples with kaolin clay. It’s supposed to protect the fruit from pests without hurting beneficials.
My kids laugh at me because my favorite thing to say is "Look at Laura over there living MY best life"!!! I envy you but in a happy way...not in jealousy but excitement for you and seeing the "fruit" of all of yours and Aaron's hard work!
Laura lifting the tree by herself… beast mode. 😮😂 💪
I know, I thought the same thing! For sure she was going to call Aaron to help load it onto the gator. She lifted that thing like it was nothing!
That's what I said too. And I said it out loud.
Me too!!! I was... 'You are NOT going to lift that.. you are NOT.. OMG you ARE going to lift that tree... LOL!
Great video. Would the nectarines ripen if you keep some? ❤❤❤❤
I was thinking the same thing but you know Laura, she will not let a thing or anyone stop her... She is a beast!!!!! Love you!💪💪💪
Laura, I hope you are drying some of the gorgeous hydrangeas you have. Your land has such a prosperous blessing on it. I've never known anyone to have the prolific growth you've had over the years. It's a great abundance of nature.
We decorated our Christmas tree for the last two years entirely from the garden! Dried hydrangeas, dried lavender bunches tied in ribbons, dried rose nosegays, and corn husk dolls!! It was so sweet - the look and the smell. Laura: Samantha might like making corn husk dolls someday!
What's the best way to dry hydrangeas? I've got 3 limelights
@drummerlovesbookworm9738 what a precious idea, I want to try that now!
@@terrik4723 the way that I've dried them is to cut the flowers when they look the best, no flaws. I cut a long stem because I won't know what I am using for i.e., in a vase or on a wreath or on the 🎄 until after they dry. I make a small bunch, tie twine around the bunch and hang them upside down in a cool, dark, dry (low humidity) room for several weeks. I do this in my basement which works out best for my flowers. Make as many bunches as you would like to have. DISCLAIMER: I AM NO EXPERT! If anyone has a different or better way, I am open to learning a different technique. Don't put pressure on yourself, have fun and enjoy drying different types of flowers or leaves. The sky is the limit!
Loved when Laura was so proud of that onion she brought it to the camera to share it with all of us!
She is adorable!
I was so jealous😢.
As someone with 60 apple trees It is common for many varieties to not start producing apples for 3-5 years. Out of all my varieties honey crisp is my least favorite, it is not as strong as many varieties, shows stress easily and seems to be susceptible to disease. My all time favorite is Zestar apple but does take a while to start producing. If you want an apple that starts producing right away I recommend Prairie Magic. Big beautiful apples, sweet flavor and the tree structure is beautiful!
Laura is there anything you cannot grow ? You are amazing !! I remember you in your townhouse starting an apple espalier tree ! So your talent has always been there ! Your you tube job is perfect for you and we all get to benefit from it !! Thank you for all you do !! ❤❤😊
Oh thanks for that, I was going to get a honey crisp next spring but wasn't sure, I will have to look for prairie magic or zestar, are those self pollinating or do I need a pollinator? I'm planning on getting apple and pear and peach trees and turning them into espalier trees because I don't have the space for even semi dwarf, which is the only kind besides regular sized that I can find. How does Zestar taste? Sweet?
@@lizsurbanroost3624 they both need pollinators. Apple trees have three different bloom times, early, mid, and late season. Zestar is an early season, and Prairie Magic is a mid season. So depending on what tree you get you need to make sure you get a second tree with the same bloom time. Or you can also get a crabapple because their blooms last all three bloom times and will pollinate apple trees. Centennial crabapple is my favorite. If you’re low on space you should look up columnar apple trees. I’ve never personally grown them but I have a friend that has grown them and absolutely loves them. Instead of branching it just grows straight up like a single column. Hope that helps!
I worked in a fruit orchard farm stand and the Honeycrisp apples always had problems with bitter pit.
Do you have any experience with Ida Red? They are my favourite
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Bethany’s pigs 🐷 are in for a treat for sure! You literally could see the limbs bounce back up! Bummer about the apples 🍏 having worms 🐛 but, live & learn, right? That Birch Tree is gorgeous 🤩 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
you can just visibly see these trees breathe a sigh of relief.
It all looks so magical! Your yard from 5 years ago to now is like from the moon landing to the Garden of Eden! How fun to harvest and see the results of all your hard work!
So glad you did not have any damage from Hilary. Love how all the trees are growing up and starting to fill in the landscape. Nice to know the fruit was not wasted. Something for everyone, or every pig! 😆
Hon!
It didn't get there yet!
Didn't you hear her say that?.49 timestamp.
That's why she's doing the pruning so the tree won't snap.
Eventually I’d say with the pigs getting them; it’ll end up in a humans stomach in the end!
@@dannac_8888at 18:55 she said that the storm went through. It was filmed on different days. 😊
Wow my favourite 😍I love watching you harvesting fruits I love your fruit garden ❤
@@marvinmartianlooney, if no one has told you recently, you're a gracious person. I was sure someone would snap back with similar mean-spiritedness, but instead, you responded with kindness and patience. Thank you for the reminder that we don't always have to return unpleasantness for unpleasantness. Proverbs 15:1. Yet another reason I love our Garden Answer community! : )
Wow! What a load of fruit - Amazing how quick those trees matured. I'm sure Bethany's piggies are happy little porkies 😊 Nothing goes to waste. Your garden has grown so much and everything is looking gorgeous. Your Hydrangeas is to die 😂 for!!!
Ur property is looking so gorgeous! I have been watching garden answer for years and have always enjoyed it. Thanks so much for continuing to do what you do. I know we all enjoy it! 💯💯
I just love that you still get excited about what you’re able to grow. It reminds me that for those of us that enjoy gardening, it stays a fun adventure.
I love a win win win situation, the fruit trees feeling better, the pigs reaping the benefit, and Laura feeling better knowing that the task is done! Yay!!!
Good grief, I suppose it doesn't surprise me that two people who work in the garden nearly every day would be strong, but Laura picking up the birch tree like that made my back hurt.
...and then Aaron comes along and carries it like its a small child. 😂😂
Dang! Your fruit trees are productive BEASTS!! That's amazing! I'm so glad Bethany's hogs got to enjoy a feast. Maybe she'd be willing to video them at the "buffet" next time you send her home with a garden smorgasbord. I would love to see those happy piggies!! 💓🐷
The variety of tasks that you complete totally amazes me! You are such an inspiration, you love your plants and you love to take care of them. You work so hard, you are just the real deal, one in a million for sure! Thank you for sharing your world with us!🥰🥰
My goodness that is a ton of fruit for a small tree. Looked so much better. The trees looked so happy afterwards!!!❤
Laura, you’re such an inspiration! "Let's get after this." Indeed! I’m heading into my backyard to get it ready for a Women's Ministry breakfast to be held here this Saturday. Some weeding, pruning citrus, replanting flower pots! Thankful for the rain Hilary brought to my small terraced yard in Southern California. Didn’t need the Ojai earthquake but, thankful for no damage!
Your family is so lucky. Your able to grow fruit and vegetables for your family and not have to purchase it from the store. You also give back to your community by planting at various places.
There is something very satisfying about watching sequencized shoveling. Laura & Aaron are top notch at the sport.
I love these types of videos. Every day garden chores and maintenance. Love the birch tree. What a beauty!
Yay for Bethany’s pigs! The trees are so pretty but honestly I was watching the flowers in the background too! What gorgeous work!
Those are some incredibly productive trees!!
Bethany's pigs are going to be so well fed with all that fruit!
hurricane hillary? that's mind blowing for someone who lives in the deep south and deals with storms on the regular. yay for mild remnants and nourishing rain.
👀 I can’t believe my eye. You picked up and moved that tree. Wow!
Whoa, Laura! Exactly WHO are you - Wonder Woman? I can’t believe you lifted that huge planter box with the tree up onto your gator. I am in awe! Way to go! 👏
I’m so glad all that picked fruit didn’t go to waste! Birch looks great there.
While it is hard to see all that fruit come off the trees, it is apparent that it is necessary and for the best. It is amazing how much those trees can produce though!! Wow! And like many of us here, I am so glad the pigs get to enjoy it, so it is not really wasted after all! 😊
Those unripe fruit would make such good flavored liquor 🥰🥰🥰
🌳🌻🌷It's a blessing to see so much beauty in fruit trees. I enjoy every video.
Your fruit trees look great. Planted a peach in a container on my upper deck to keep it away from the deer, but wouldn't you know it, the squirrels came and ate every last one, even though they were not ripe. Ah, living with nature!
You can’t hide from squirrels! 😂
I dooo hate, yes, i said hate, squirrels. Got one that's been plaguing me since I came here...40years ago. I've aged, but the dang squirrel doesn't look a bit older, and gets faster every year as I slow down!!! Sometimes i see double or triple--oh no my eyes are goin too! I grow sunflowers just for it, not even sure it likes sunflower seeds, but the birds sure do! Yeah, I hate squirrels.
How was that not noticed?
I slobbered the branches with Carolina Reaper “smoothie” mixed with surfactant (NuFilm) and it stopped them from coming. But beware, no matter how careful, you will get some on you, and it’s like weapon grade hot!!
Mine too. I have it in the pot but the squirrel ate them!
Fabulous work glad the piggies get something out of it
Oh my gosh those trees are prolific!
If trees could talk!!! You could see the heavy burden they were holding onto until came along to relieve them of all that fruit. How sweet to see their branches rising up!
Those fruit trees are loving life where they are!! Lol. The transition after pruning was amazing
I think I heard your tress breathe a sigh of relief! 😆
I had apple coddling moths at our last house. In a real big old tree. Captain Jacks works if you do the spray about four times in the season. I also bought traps to hang in the trees to signal me when they were active enough to begin the first spring spray. The coddling moth worms eventually crawl down the trunk to over winter in the soil. I couldn’t find any data how to effectively stop them on their route down or back up in the spring. Or to kill them in the ground. Our apples were so delicious that we’d eat them in the fall or make unpeeled applesauce in a simplified sugar free process then I’d can them. I’d rough cut the core out if there was worm damage. It was usually minimal even if I only sprayed once.
Dave Wilson Fruit Tree Nursery in Modesto CA has a technique to keep the trees much shorter than yours so they’re easier to pick. He’s been around a long time but I’ve only recently discovered him.
Thanks for all your hard work and posting. I learn a lot from you!
5:23 I have a peach tree also, it’s pretty big but I never stayed on top of it and honestly it’s bc then I didn’t know any better but it still produces so many fruits we have to give away bags to neighbors, friends, and family.
Laura, you have got to be the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine what you really get done in a day since we only see a small slice of what you do. Perhaps you can do a day in the life of Laura and Aaron. I also love the way Aaron always seems so happy to help you when you really need it!
I have an orcharding background...apples in eastern Washington. When the fruit starts getting bigger, you prop the branches to keep from breaking the branches! Of course, good job for lightening the load...but you'll benefit from propping later on!
Hi Laura and Aaron! Thank you so much for sharing!
That tree is definitely thanking you!
Looks like the tree went through weight watchers!
Happy Trees 🌳
Happy piggies 🐖
Happy Laura 👩🏻🔧
P.S. I watched a video of someone spraying there fruit trees 🌳 with some sort of clay spray. It’s not a chemical so you do Not have to worry about harming the pollinators. Plus, Bonus, you don’t have to do it quite as often. Hopefully you see this comment and research for the video. If I can it, I will come back and let you know the name of channel so you can watch!
@@jgg7377It’s called Surround, it is a kaolin clay based spray.
Omgoodness lady I gasped as you lifted that tree (I'm momming you LOL) please be careful of your back. What a beautiful harvest for the pigs
I appreciate it when I hear that you also have things you forget to do, it eases my angst. I tend to be tough on myself if I forget to prune, or give extra water, etc. Thanks for sharing that part of gardening, too.
Laura could try using apple tree netting to keep the maggot and coddling moths out. Have to spray for scab though.
I couldn't believe you lifted that tree into the Gator all by yourself...and glad Aaron carried it to the planting spot for you. Glad you didn't get any damage from the storm.
I love your garden, so many fruits tree. Hello from Thailand.
Those cosmos are gorgeous
Zone 8 Northern Arizona here. We missed most of the brunt of Hilary but always grateful for any showers we get. 😊
Good Morning! 🍎🍏 The nectarine tree looks so much better! A beautiful scene indeed, I love it! I hope the storm doesn't do too much damage in your area! I'm glad the storm passed without doing too much damage! 🥰🍏🍎🌳✂️🍑🌿
The peach tree!!! Watching you trim and the branches are just like, "ahhhh, thank you Laura!" It must feel so much lighter!
So glad the storm didn't damage anything 🙌 it's amazing how those fruit trees produce so much. 😮👍
I know most viewers don't understand the gift of a large rainstorm, because they get deluged in the east/south. I also live in high desert, Colorado, and rain without wind storms is rare. You did an amazing job in the orchard. Maybe you can go into more detail with your spray choice, organic etc. and process of keeping them bug free. The nectarines look spotless!🧡
Watching in fast mode, I could see some of the branches moving upwards with the release of the weight of the fruit. I could almost hear the trees saying, “Ahhhhh….thank you, Laura!” 😊
Lots of fruit today for Bethany pigs l bet they enjoyed them. Your fruit trees looked so much better after tidy up.. You can almost here them going thank you Laura. Just love the new tree you planted.
6inches of rain here in the past 2 days from torrential downpours, hardest I've seen it rain in a long time alot of urban flooding, but in the countryside just elevated rivers as we still hadn't fully recovered from the spring drought in May and June
Looks like you have some canning in your future Laura. So wonderful to see such bounty for your hard work. God surely has blessed you.
Don’t know why but the garden looked especially beautiful today. Love having my morning coffee with you. Have a blessed day.
I just love to see you work taking care of your trees, flowers, shrubs, grass, vegetables, chickens, etc., etc., etc. and so tickled for Bethany’s pigs. Just imagining what a treat they will be getting!
Wanted to tell you how much I love the colour of your patio set by the greenhouse! That blue plays nicely against the shingles on the greenhouse.
Great job on the trees. I’m so glad the storm only brought rain and No wind. Was kinda worried about that. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
It was so great to see the branches actually rebound as you relieved them. I kept saying 'Give them to Bethany's pigs'! When you said they were going to her pigs I hooted out loud !!!
I just found some sprouted seed in my Granny Smith apple. I said thank you to the apple and planted those little babies! I’ll update y’all in 3-5 years 😂😂
Those are going to be some happy pigs! What a tremendous amount of fruit! We had a few apple trees but the deer always enjoyed them before the apples were ripe. Oh well-it was fun to watch them harvest!😅
Incredible fruit de-harvest! Rise up peach trees, you have been delivered!
Oh it was so wonderful to see the trees come back to life from the overbearing fruit! They were so grateful and happy for your attention❤
Good morning Laura and Aaron! So sad about the apples and you can bet next year we will be reminding you.🤣 Glad the hurricane left overs just brought you lovely rain! Hugs from N.C..❤️
I swear you could see the branches moving upwards as you pruned and removed fruit! What a yield!
Peach pie, peach compote, neactarine cobbler ... yum!
Good morning! Those fruit trees look so much better trimmed and thinned! They really produce fruit. Love the tree.
I never have seen in cyber like this house❤❤🎉
I’m so happy to know that you had a good rain and no wind! 👏👏👏👏👏
Glad you didn't get any damage to the fruit trees. I'm sure the pigs were happy with their fresh treats.
You have a lot to take care of even with your help and you do the best you can some things just have to sit on the back burner and feeding the animals unripened fruit isn’t a waste it helps in the cost of feed to
Wow how lucky you are your place that kind of place that I've been dreaming Love it so much
Everything looks so healthy and beautiful! You and Aaron and Paul and Bethany do great work!
Those fruit trees are beautiful!!
Well done Laura. Glad Hurricane Hillary didn’t cause any damage. Do you have any footage or pics of Bethany’s pigs feasting on the fruit? No waste 😀😀
The fruit trees are doing so well.
I hope you can use that fruit you picked. Surely they will be ripe enough. Wow!
So informative, loved seeing you in the zone❤
I heard those trees breathe a huge sigh of relief. 😊
Nectarine galette! Brian Lagerstrom’s Apple galette recipe on CZcams tweaked for nectarines. To die for. 🥰
I respect your energy 😮❤😊
Yahoo for the pigs, what a treat😂
Dang! Those trees are productive.
Kaolin clay is usually a one and done application for apples.
Those are going to be some happy pigs for sure, chumping on those fruits.
Laura you'll give yourself a hernia lifting that tree on the gaiter by yourself. I was glad to see Aaron carrying it to the garden area. As one gets older, one becomes more aware of the aches and pains heavy lifting creates. Just saying because I always lifted heavy and am really feeling the effects now. Just looking out for our Laura. And am so Glad Hillary didn't damage anything for you. ,👍👍
That onion was as big as Russell's head!!!
I just planted a nectarine tree last June. It looks great in spite of the tropical storm that passed. I can’t wait to see it next spring when it blossoms.
Wow those branches stood right up after you removed those fruit. I'm happy that there was a way to still use the fruit, those pigs should be happy campers this weekend
I had no idea fruit trees would have such huge amounts of fruit on them! Definitely different than my grandparents old apricot tree used to be! Love how much I learn from you folks!
Fun to watch the branches rise ..... they thank you !!!
Dang!! Those onions are so huge! 😋 ❤ love that dwarf birch tree and cannot wait to see it in the fall!
Love the blue cushion furniture placement near your veg garden and greenhouse, very inviting look.
So neat to watch the Timelapse of the fruit tree branches rebounding back up.
I remove the grass out to the drip line and replace it with pine straw. This allows me to edge and mow around the trees and prevents weeds from growing under the tree canopy and competing with the tree. Also makes it easier to apply fertilizer since the lawn fertilizer is different from the tree fertilizer.
Amazing to watch the tree revive with the weight off it! Well done Laura!
