I just received my GARDEN ANSWER hoodie ..... l got it to cuz of my mom. We always spent our breakfast time watching you from back in the beginning through the birth of your children and the growth of your property. We lost her at the end off August. Mom made to 99 and had a great life. We both learned a lot about gardening and life through you and Aaron. Thank You for being a part of our lives ❤❤ ....... now back to the show ......
I love the sounds of your video. The cutting of the irises, the sound of the gravel crunching under your feet, the sound of you cutting and frying of your veggies and sausage and sounds of your happy little chickens.
Me too! Absolutely love the sounds of gardening, especially the crunching of gravel…music to my ears ♥️
I often play Laura's videos again, just to listen. Sometimes, I listen in a relaxing position with my eyes closed.
Me too!!!!
It must be so satisfying to cook with so many ingredients you grew yourself!
I never knew dividing and transplanting irises could be so therapeutic! Plus, that butternut squash dish looks absolutely delicious. Great combo.
I would have to sprinkle some feta cheese on that.
I think anytime you get your hands in the dirt is very therapeutic at least it is for me. 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊 I just love it so much 😍
Good evening from Papua New Guinea ❤🇵🇬🌺
I love seeing the chickens!! Also, Laura, great job on all the camera work. Setting it up, coming back in like you did the first time, (sometimes driving by again 😊) and all the angles. It’s such enjoyable viewing. Great job, girlie!! ❤
Yes! I always just thank her for the video or mention how much I enjoyed it but honestly I also need to give her kudos on the filming. She really does a great job! I smile sometimes thinking about how far she’s come with the camera! At first she really did not want to be filmed by Aaron.. it’s been such an amazing journey.. they should make like a CZcams feature “film” 😆 about the entire experience from start to finish because it’s been fascinating and so enjoyable to watch them grow and develop into the absolute professionals they are today. I would totally pay to watch it!
Can you store them to plant later? Iris, that is. This method was an eye opener for scooping up the iris rísomes. I was trying to dig mine up one by one 😮
Laura, you are the perfect examples of, “if you want something done, ask a woman!” What you get done in a day is amazing. Great job!!
She’s fast! 🌸🌸🌸
Same! I feel so lazy in my own garden chores.. I usually just look out and star at them for a very long time before I finally make the leap and actually get out there and get them done! lol
My hands would have been so sore from breaking up the clumps of rhizomes and planting. Inspiring!
🙄 her husband and 2 workers do a lot
Oh yay, I'm so thrilled you loved my stuffed butternut squash recipe! You nailed it!! xo
I recently dug and separated a 6 yr old clump of bearded iris and got around 150 rhizomes! I replanted what I needed in my garden and gave a bunch away to friends. Perennial gardening can be a pain sometimes but it is so worth it!!
Last year I dug up I bet a thirty year old patch of white irises. The area was probably 60 foot long 4 ft. Wide. It took several days to say the least, and I have another patch I’m not sure how big it is. I dread separate them because It’s so big. I got enough to go around a huge garden and didn’t even touch my pile. I had to just sprinkle them in the ground and they once again are thriving. Such an easy plant to care for. Just lots of separating!
I know this is a gardening channel, but I enjoy the variety of cooking, shopping, decorating and craft projects. Well, I enjoy everything you film. I've decided dinner at our house, stuffed butternut squash! 😊
GORGEOUS !!! imagine your driveway lines both sides with them.
I have to try your butternut squash recipe.
Sure does look real good Sweet Laura, yesterday coming back from my Doctor appointment, I stopped at Brains to pick-up anfew things I needed. Onions was one of them. As I was looking at the onions, I thought to myself. I would love to have a couple of Sweet Laura's onions for my soup. Well I made it today, much to my surprise the Brains onions we're just the case that so was after. The soup was great.Even if we're not support to Bragg on our own cooking, lol. It's support to get cold here in Ok. For a day or so, also. It's so hard to bleivebthat it's so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas, again. Seems to me that time is just flying. Plus another year older in December for me also. Please tell everyone hello for me That I wish than the Happy.of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sending my love and God's blessings to you. Please stay safe, is my prayer.Wanda In Ok
I know i am one of many...but i just wanted to let you know how much i enjoy everything about your videos. I have learned so much. Thank you and your family! 😊 your place is just beautiful! 🌲🌻🐈🐈⬛🐓🌺🦋🐟
That butternut squash recipe looks so yummy! I just might have to give it a try and cook it for my family. I really like this video on irises. I have many Irises growing in my front yard along our picket fence and in the back yard along the side of our house ( all purple). I transplanted them from my mother-in-laws yard, probably about 25-30 years ago. They are faithful to come back every year...I love them! I also really enjoy your home interior projects, a lot. I would love to see more of those kind of videos!!! Thank you, Aaron, your mom, sister and your precious children for allowing us to come along and spend time with you. I am really moved by the love and family and everyday values y'all have. It's a blessing to see that you all are a very special family who have wonderful values. It is so refreshing. God bless each of you!❤
Two of my favorite channels just collided - Garden Answer + Downshiftology! 😄
You’ve officially inspired our dinner for tonight. It won’t be butternut squash but stuffed acorn squash 😋
Perfect and Balanced Broadcast.
I loved the combination of Gardening and Cooking.
My two favorite things.
My third favorite thing on your show is your love of beautiful things, and your excitement for them !
Butternut squash looks so good. It is so satisfying to divide plants and have them fill a space. Looking forward to when they bloom.
Now you'll be able to appreciate the beauty of these iris' since they will be in an open space (more open space) than where they were.
Thank you for keeping it real and not blocking your sweet children’s voices in the background
I think it is so awesome that someone sent you the kneeling pad you used to have and loved so much and now, I see it in almost every video❤❤❤
Laura, you had me at DAHLIAS ❣️ thanks for taking us along with you this morning! Could almost smell the onions, garlic, apples, and sausage in your pot!😋
Honestly, you make the best videos out of all the gardening channels I watch. You continuously produce top quality, perfectly filmed and edited and always so genuine. It truly makes my day and inspires me! Thank you for all the hard work you have done, people really do enjoy your work! ❤️
Your videos are part of the fabric of our lives. A beautiful kaleidoscope of encouragement for my own garden and for my heart. Thank you for blessing us with your many giftings. Quick pro tip as a cook, Brown your meat first and then set it aside. Cook your garlic and onions in the pan with the drippings of the meat. Then add the meat back in. Crazy amount of flavor!
Good morning from Dublin Ireland ☘️
I so love when you cook with your homegrown produce. There’s just something about it that feels magical. Also, the randomness of this video made me so happy. It makes it feel like we’re spending a full day with you. Thank you for taking us along!
I was so glad to see you separated the iris rhizomes! They will be so pretty as a giant drift! Suggestion: put a pallet walkway through the "meadow" to each of your orchard trees behind the flower shed. Then, the grass can grow up on each side and you will have access. That would fit your whimsy vibe for sure! 🌱💚
Those iris are going to be gorgeous there.
So how many of us are making stuffed butternut squash really soon? Me! Thanks for the recipe!
🍂Good morning Laura and GA friends from rainy southeast Michigan. Your dividing the Iris brings back fond memories of my home and garden, so wonderful to see. I am on my way to the grocery store for a few things, and have added your squash recipe ingredients to my list! I hope everyone enjoys a happy, safe and productive day no matter what the task might be-thanks for the memories, Laura 🧡🍁🌻🎃
Love the sound of the children playing in the background.❤❤❤
Good morning GA friends!
As your dreams materialize, it is exciting to travel with you on your journey. Thank you for sharing, and for your enthusiastic inspiration. Your videos exude joy in the journey and are such a blessing!.
You are so committed. After separating, if I had over 90 to plant, I would have been lazy and dumped compost over it all and called it a day! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Good morning, Laura☕️ I cannot believe the amount of Irises you got from dividing 😳🙌🏻 That is on my To Do list this weekend! Your lunch looked delicious. You could’ve put the flesh from the butternut that you scraped out into the stuffing mixture. Have a Blessed Day😊🐈🐈
Watching this on a very dark day in my home state of Maine. Somehow among the tragedies of life you can brighten even the darkest of days. Thank you for the outlet to experience some semblance of peace! 🙏💐
Oh my gosh. You are going to have a spectacular clump of Iris’s. One of my favourite perennials.
Good morning everyone!
So happy to hear you’re also a fan of Downshiftology!
She creates such yummy, healthy recipes and meal plans!! ❤
Fan also!😊
Me too.. huge fan of downshiftology 😍
Now I know how you get so much done...your twin helps you (the magic of editing). 😊. Have a great day! 💜💙💚💛🐸😎🐸
That iris drift is going to be stunning! I cant wait to see it bloom.
Morning Everyone ❤
Please please give us a daily routine video for inspiration🙏 .. you work so hard all day everyday and you do most of the stuff by yourself.. your videos inspired me to start planting. Thank you so much.. can you please share your daily routine with us so that we’re inspired to be efficient like you are❤
Would love to see how she plans all these tasks? Planner? Computer program?? Amazing all the work that gets done! Wow!
Knew you would divide those iris!😅 A little time consuming chore is worth it in the long run. That bed will be beautiful next year. Looking forward to seeing it😊
Loved Sammanth's TA DAH! Garden tasks are done and fitted in a healthy lunch for the family. A perfect day.
Your squash looks delicious! You got alot done! I think the crabapple tree is loving you for removing the iris from its roots. Looks better anyway. Nicely done Laura!!!
On another garden channel (Dig water plant repeat) I watch, someone brought Janie Irises and recommend a tool for planting called a Hoe-dag. I ordered one from Duluth trading company and it has quickly became my absolute favorite planting tool.
Yep, me too. The best tool ever! Janey is my zone 9b in NorCA. Love both of these gals❣️
JANIE HAD FOOT SURGERY THIS DAY, PRAYING FOR HER, CHECK OUT HER CHANNEL DIP WATER PLANT REPEAT ❤❤❤
I love, Dig plant water repeat!
I discovered Janie's channel because of Laura (GA) showing Janie's small side yard before she moved. I live in Sacramento near Janie, keep hoping I will run into her at Green Acres one day😄
Your channel is amazing Laura! Not just because of the cool things you do in your videos, but that you have over 1.8 million subscribers watching 30+ minute videos every day. Well done!
I’d probably put ajuga in where the irises were. There are so many leaf colors to choose. And for me the stay really flat against the ground. Plus the can take shade and have blue flowers! My favorite.
I just made a small stepping stone path along the side of my house (just a utility area) and I planted over 150 ajuga plugs that I rooted in the spring. Chocolate Chip, Black Scallop and Burgundy Glow all mixed. They have put on a bit of growth but I can't wait till they all grow together and around the stepping stones like a beautiful carpet.
@@tinacolbourneart1091sounds like it’s going to be very beautiful! I wish YT would let us share photos on the comments! 😊
@@staceyallard2692 me too 😄
What a productive day you had. Nicely done! Can’t wait to see the new brick edging. It will be lovely to finish that area up I’m sure.
We Are ALL Ao Happy For y’all’s Life & We’re So Sure Y’all’s Parents Are Proud Of ALL You’ve Accomplished!!! 😘💪🏼
Laura, wonderful videos as usual. Please consider making blank cards with pictures of your garden for sale. The scene of the Brandy Wine Viburnum looking across the garden (27:14) is so beautiful. I think all your fans would love it. Those would be a great gift.
I'm so glad you divided the rhizomes. It will look fantastic in the spring and every spring thereafter as they fill in.
The food looks delicious the garden looks so beautiful🌸🌸🌸👍😊🙏🙏
Those irises will be beautiful in that area. The texture! Cant wait to see this next year.
So many years of iris planting with my father, I used to get him a half a dozen new colors every year on Father's Day.
Laura, you are really amazing…such a hard worker! I love seeing you using your produce whether it’s in cooking or preserving. After all isn’t that why we garden! Love, love your flower gardens and landscaping. Makes me want to go out and plant! I truly enjoy all of your videos! Thank you for sharing. (p.s. tell Arron I enjoy watching him and his trees too!)❤❤
Iris is really one of those flowers that can provide unlimited numbers as you divide them year to year! 🙂
Busy day 😊 I hope you will show us how amazing the finished brickwork looks in the next video! Your squash looked absolutely delicious 😋
The large drifts of iris will be beautiful in Spring! Another great video that is inspiring to the many gardeners/viewers that follow your channel.
Here’s a little tip: roll your rosemary up into you sage and chop them together 😊. Recipe looks amazing~!
I’m always amazed at your ability to remember the names of all of your plants! Even down to specific varieties of each! Oh to have that again! ❤️😊
Wunderschön und eine großartige Arbeit in Deinem Garten. Das Essen ist super geworden, werde ich auch so nachkochen.Vielen lieben Dank und herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland, Anja❤❤
Love, love, love that you split the irises. While they look great in big clumps more is better. And in a few years time there will me more clumps.
Love that you shopped your garden to find plants to fill in elsewhere. We’ve just started to do this and the repetition makes the gardens look great!
I absolutely mean this as a compliment and I love love learning from you!!….. but holy s*#! You are single handle the busiest little chicken I have ever seen!! You’re awesome and so sweet!! Thank you for sharing so much with all of us!! 😂😂
Thank you so much for discussing iris! I've learnt so much from your videos on hydrangeas, tomatoes, dahlia and so many other plants but I've searched and I'm pretty sure I've watched every video you've ever made and I don't think there has been an in-depth video on iris! Please think about doing more on iris - I have so many in my garden and I'd love to know all about the different types, how best to look after them, and how to encourage them to spread and bloom 💛💛
93 Iris!! That was so satisfying to watch!
Oh my gosh, Lisa has some of the best recipes and she also has a CZcams channel…Downshiftology is a goto for new recipes for me! What a shout out to two of my favorite channels🥰
Can't wait to see the Irises you just planted in the spring in bloom! Love the iris blooms in spring!! Your variety is beautiful!!
I’m such a GA fan I have to make myself save a video through the week when I’m working so I can have a Saturday one with tea and relaxation! 😂❤
The iris picture you showed reminds me of Edith Wolford.
Such a fun adventure. Watching you spread the fertilizer is so practical. It makes planting more doable. Thank you, Laura.
Enjoy seeing you doing everyday things like cooking a delicious meal for your family.! So inspired to try new things in my gardens. You are a girl after my heart.
Downshiftology is the BEST! Love all recipes there.
Good morning!🌻🐝
When you first mentioned the stuffed squash recipe, I just HAD to wing it!! I missed the apples, but it was delicious. I’m really enjoying your fall projects-keeps me motivated! I have a grape to move, rosemary to pot up, pomegranates to plant, tomatoes and vine crops to clear out, and yes, iris to thin. 🥰
Your videos are so therapeutic. I watch them everyday! You make us feel like we’re doing all of this fun stuff right along side of you. Thank you for sharing your life with us ❤
It's impressive that you remember the names of all of those dahlias.
Crab apples make the most delicious apple butter and these beauties would make the prettiest pink apple butter.
Thank you for this topic! I’ve been wanting to divide my iris but it just felt so overwhelming. Now I feel I have the confidence to do the job! You’re the best!
So Great getting to enjoy gardening with Laura and a Downshiftology recipe (she’s my favorite recipe person I follow). I love seeing the tree freed up. It’s so beautiful. Thanks Laura for a wonderful tutorial on my iris and a Autumn dinner.
One of my favorite earliest memories was reading "Little House in the Big Woods," and the illustration of Laura & Mary playing with their corn cob dolls up in the attic. The space was lined with barrels of produce and preserve foods. It gave me all the feels of being buttoned-down and cozy, ready for the long winter ahead. Fall has been my favorite season ever since! 🤗💗🍃🍂🍁🌾
“A few is better than none.”
Your joy in the beauty of the dahlia blooms is so contagious….you are precious!
You are so special. Please be thankful for what you can do. Been there but not so much now. Thank you God I once did.
Now I must make that recipe!
Iris need to be separated out in order to maximize blooms so you should have a great display next spring and the year after that.
I’ve never loved iris blooms, but have really come to appreciate them in my garden for their great leaf texture that stays nice all year, great color early in the season, and for how well they spread! I’m not sure I’ve ever bought any - they’ve always either been at our house already or I’ve been given some rhizomes. Can’t believe they sell for $5! Maybe I should start selling mine when I divide them again. 😂
Oh my word, that recipe is saved!!! And i hope to try this weekend, my mouth was watering when you pulled the finale out of the oven!❤
What a great day of planting and cooking
The stuffed squashed looked delicious.
The dahlias are so gorgeous!
That squash looked amazing!! How satisfying know you grew that from seed 😮I love these types of videos!! Thank you Laura and team😘🤗
The autumn squash looked mouth watering when the finished product came from the oven and I thought okay when I try this I’ll top it off with some gorgonzola cheese the last few minutes!
I made the Apple Sausage Stuffed Butternut Squash recipe tonight and it was delicious! I’ve never tried butternut squash before but I’m hooked now. Thank you for sharing the recipe and all you do!!
I love separating and transplanting iris. Especially new ones from a friend. ❤
I live in the Southeast, and we plant our iris' high (so they don't die!) Half-in, half-out is what my mom taught me. But the last time I divided mine, there were a few that looked like they were no good, and I threw them out in the woods behind our house. Well lo and behold, they came up the next spring! They didn't bloom, too much shade, but I dug them up this year and moved them to a nice sunny spot.
I made the stuffed butternut squash recipe today , hubby said " where'd you get this idea?" I said Laura from GA... he said I have to save the recipe it's delicious. Thank you for sharing ❤
Good morning everyone 😊 I just love seeing people shopping from their own pantry it's so satisfying to see 😊 my garden didn't do so well this summer. So I don't get to do much of that this year but hopefully the fall garden will be better than the summer garden. Have a blessed day 🙏
My grandma taught me when I was little to treat plants like they were made of glass. To see you just toss them before you plant serious cracks me up! That recipe looks DELICIOUS!! Thanks for sharing!😃
Thank you so much for sharing the butternut squash recipe. Also thank Bethany as well. I made it for my hubby tonight and it was a serious hit. I will definitely make it again. ❤😊❤
Now I have root cellar envy. 😅 How fun to go out an grab things you grew yourself and know how you grew it ! Hard work has its rewards!
Once in a while I get to watch your videos. This was amazing to see you do all the things at once. You food look yummy!!! Thank you.
Loved seeing you dig & transplant the Iris. A friend removed 100 from his garden & gifted them to mine. I need to plant them this week but wasn’t exactly sure how to separate them. Thanks for sharing the process 🌿
The butter nut recipe looks so yummy.
I have to try it.
The garden is looking amazing 👏🏻
I think the tall iris are called Water Iris. My mother has huge clumps on her farm in North Carolina. They like shade and wet ground. Butternut squash recipe looks delicious.
