When your mom said, "half the fun is the stem ware." I thought to myself, I have found my tribe! You two are a hoot. I love to see you, your mom and your sister together. It fills my heart the love and fun you share.

Good afternoon ladies. As a former bartender, I’m going to give you a few pointers to make your next afternoon cocktail show easier.😊 When opening champagne after taking off the foil keep your hand over the cage that’s around the cork. On occasion when taking the foil off, it will loosen everything enough that the cork could pop. So just gently keep your hand over the top of the cage as you untwist it. Once the cage is off, you can take a hold of the cork and just slightly turn it until it pops in your hand. That way you have more control over it and it’s not as nerve wrecking. My second tip is for the lemon twist. You want to do this without the flesh in the lemon slice. Then you’re going to literally twist the peel with your fingers to help release all of the lovely essential oils that the peel holds. You then run the ride along the rim of the glass to give a taste of its essence in every sip you take. Then just drop the twist into the cocktail. Hope this helps. I want to add to your advice
Drape a cloth towel/dinner napkin over the cork. It will give you the grip you might need when twisting the bottle and cork in opposite directions. It also makes the uncorking so much safer. I know this because I've opened THOUSANDS of bottles of Champagne and Sparkling wines.

Opening champagne bottles for the wine and cheese receptions at the bed and breakfast where I was an innkeeper, we held the cork still and twisted the bottle. It was the easiest of all the ways I ever opened a bottle of champagne.

Years ago, my husband packed our kid’s lunches for school, and one day, he gave them each a fruit from the fruit bowl. When they returned home from school, they both told me that something was “weird” about the oranges they ate at lunchtime. I thought it was odd too; as I had not bought any oranges🤔 Then I realized what had happened. Two of the three Meyer’s Lemons I had bought for a dessert were missing from the fruit bowl. 🤣 The kids told me they were a little tart but they still ate them completely. I’m sure their faces were something to see around the lunch table. 😂

After tasting the second cocktail, you mentioned using honey in place of simple syrup or maple syrup...Susan said that she loves honey and that it is medicinal... then came this gem, we could have a cocktail that's medicinal! This was so much fun, when my mom and granny were alive we would have our wine and cheese party just the three of us, my mom was a light weight she would have one glass then lay on the floor and go to sleep😂 granny and I would carry on without her, such fond memories, God bless you ladies 😘
I laughed when the shaker top blew off...after you took such care to open the champagne bottle outside! At Christmas, I asked my daughter to open a corked bottle (assuming she knew how) and she shot my chandelier! Nothing broken, but it sure was loud! Cheers!
The cocktails look so yummy 🤤 if I may give you some advice on opening a champagne bottle: if you hold the cork with one hand and grab the underside of the bottle with the other hand you can slowly twist the bottle with the hand that is holding the underside. Hold the cork firmly with one hand and while you twist you will feel the cork slowly coming out. That way you will never loose control over the cork and it will never shoot out as a dangerous projectile 😃 cheers ladies 🥂

Oh wow, the top blowing off so too funny! I would suggest having a kitchen cloth over the cork to help pull it off, saves you if it decides to blow. What a fun day with your Mom. I hope you feed your Mom before she has to go home.
