  • The main destination for our trip through Missouri was to visit Branson. While in Branson, we spent two days at Silver Dollar City. What a great park! The coasters are some of the best the we have ever ridden and the general atmosphere of the park was a fun step back in time. The railroad had just returned 14 to operation the month before our visit

Love this park and they sure seem to take very good care of their engines. That duplicating lathe is really cool too.

What a cute little 0-4-0! Is there any backstory on what it's previous life was like, or was it built for the park?
    Oh, and FIRST!

sebradfield it was built in 1938 by Orenstein & Koppel in Germany for use at a quarry. In the 60’s, it was sold to a man in Minnesota. He died in ‘12 and in ‘16 14 and 504 were sold to Silver Dollar City. It was sent to the quarry after it was built with its twin sister and former operating SDC engine, 13. Their original runners were 1 and 2. 14 has a much improved American look then it’s former look, which was basically painted white, and didn’t have too much character. The engineers have really done a good job.
