Jordan asking an Irishman if he knew what a limerick was is the most Jordan Schlansky thing to do.
You have to understand, that simply being of Irish descent doesn't imply one would be well versed in various forms of poetry. Jordan wisely didn't want to assume and potentially offend with a stereotype of the jig dancing rhyming leprechaun Irishman. He gave just the right amount of respect.
Jordan has been disrespecting and offending Conan for decades in their remotes, it wasn't about respect. He just wanted to explain the contest.
And he didn't ask just any Irishman, but arguably the most famous Irish comedian of all time!
But still, it's good show etiquette to make sure the listener knows...
Conan is NOT an Irishman. He's of Irish descent. There's a big difference. He's not an Irish citizen, he hasn't paid taxes in Ireland, he's not voted or eligible to vote, he doesn't know the history of Ireland, and so on.

I don't know if these guys have the best or worst chemistry, but it's amazing and one of the few things that literally makes me laugh out loud.
The only times I haven't skipped Ads is because Conan is involved.
I'll go even further, I've rewatched the Bidet Ad a couple times
The Guinness Limerick by Conan was fantastic and showed Jordan what a true maestro can do. Jordan's was very good and sophisticated. But Conan's was funny as hell 😅 I think this is the first time I felt like Jordan came out his shell and ranted about something he is upset about that's not related to Conan! And it made him feel more relatable and like a close friend of Conan rather than their usual shtick.

A lot of those "contests" back in the 70's, 80's and 90's had no winner, or if they did, they were given to people working at the company. I enjoy watching vintage commercials and when I see a contest, I always look up the winners, and the majority, were scandal or purposely went nowhere. So Jordan shouldnt feel bad, that limerick was amazing.

I don't think it's a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love seeing Conan and Jordan together and I die laughing each time I see them, but I feel like has to be something special, like an occasional treat for the viewers. I don't thing it is a good idea to make their interactions a regular and expected thing. Just my opinion.

I imagine the PR department for products see an impromptu ad read from Jordan Schlansky as a double edged sword. On the one hand, he's knowledgeable and gives a detailed review. On the other hand, he can be too honest, and generally comes across as a sociopath.
