    The shipping weight was 10#!
    Having that extra weight on back of engine helps keep the blade in the water

    I like the addition of the clutch it might entice me to sell one of my outboards and get a longtail

      It's a very good upgrade allow super tight turns and idling in the current easy

    Looks really easy to install.I need to get a clutch like this.Saturday will be test day for me with my kayak.I keep watching your videos and thinking about how fast will I go.you have an awesome boat.

      @@azlongtales I actually got to test out my 212cc kayak and it was too fast for that 8 ft kayak so I just need to buy a 10 or 12 ft kayak so it can hold the weight better.I might just end up getting a John boat so I can fit my family.

    This is awesome! What’s the measurement coming off the face from the engine to the new shaft to connect the drive shaft to?

      It seems like it extends it out like 4inches?

    When you are running full speed is some of that sped up? If not you were hauling pretty good

    Do you know if that clutch works on 18 hp vanguard

      Currently they only make one rated to 16hp max right now. Hope fully they release 22hp one in the future.

      I ordered one. And am thinking of rebuilding the guts with a Hilliard extreme duty clutch. My motor is a Predator 212 building 12-13hp

      @@azlongtales I’m building a 12ft with the same motor, I was worried about the weight in the back. But I’m guessing now I’m gonna be ok now. Do you stand when diving?

    At what rpm does the clutch engage at?

      At 7:25 you can see it it engages at a comfortable 2k idling at 1600 no problem

    It always me with the bad vibes
    I see no reason for a clutch on a long tail
    It just something that might somehow fail not to mention it cost money
    If a boat was a wheeled vehicle perhaps a clutch would help
    But a boat is not
    Just idle down and pick theu prop out of the water
    This may well be new and innovative
    I wonder if the taiwanese run clutches on small on their small long tails
    I world find that hard to believe

      It's not 100% necessary but it's pretty convenient. Especially for duck hunting with dogs. Obviously a direct drive will always have the best power transfer. But it definitely helps the learning curve with new people for using a longtail.

      @@azlongtales I live in south louisiana and have spent more time than most in real wooded swamps i have a camp in the atchafalaya basin.
      No a clutch on a long tail is not needed nor wanted by any cajun I ever seen
      In as far as help in the operation of ability to run a boat
      It a funny but true fact
      Some people can and some people can not.
      Sort of like standing on one foot;
      Some people just do not have the ability
