    One thing i learned when i was growing up is that you dont need to go fast on the water. Id rather soak in the beauty and splendor of just being on the water. My Dad's friends would always laugh at his 25hp Merc. on his huge fishing boat. It got us there 10 minutes later and who cares how fast you get there.

    I found a 12' V-hull with one rib down the center, otherwise slick bottom. I'm kicking it around along with a XL Twister. Y'all keep up the good work.

      Nice I definelty recommend the duromax 440 on it but build your transom to 21inches or use a jackplate. An epoxy slick coating on the bottom will also help alot.

    That big thing is heavy I don’t own a boat trailer so I think it would be impossible until I got some thing to haul it around but I’m pretty impressed by the twister Shallowater performance. 18 miles an hour is good for a V hull if you put that thing on a complete flat bottom you would be getting probably 23 mph great video man keep it up I’ll be on the water soon

      It will work amazing I recommend a 8 to 16hp kit with a 301cc or 420cc motor . 8:31 I get pretty skinny

    • @azlongtales
      @azlongtales  Před 3 lety

      Should do well!!!! Transom height may need the T-H marine jack plate for 20inches transom height is often optimal for surface drives 12ft vhulls usually have 15 16 inch transom.

    @11:50. Why can't you just push down like a long tail to pop it out of the water?
    Oh and how fast with the 2 of you?

    • @azlongtales
      @azlongtales  Před měsícem

      Under throttle it pulls down into the water not like a longtail that tends to kick out of the water.

      If my boat can float it will keep going no problem and boats wake usually makes sure that happens easily.

    That Duromax 18hp is supposed to have a counter balance on it. It sure seems to have a lot of vibration for a balanced motor.

    • @azlongtales
      @azlongtales  Před 3 lety +1

      Definetly not super smooth motor

    • @jeffccr3620
      @jeffccr3620 Před 3 lety +2

      @@azlongtales That is kind of disappointing too. I was thinking about putting a Duromax 18hp on a Kaboat but i doubt that kind of vibration would be good for the transom on a Kaboat. I work out of town a lot and pull a 14 ft tool trailer . I can bag the Kaboat and put it and the motor in the back of my truck and the shaft can go in my tool trailer. That way i can hit the rivers when working out of town without having to pull another trailer out of town.
      I wonder if the 13hp Predator has less vibration issues

    • @azlongtales
      @azlongtales  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jeffccr3620 no the duromax is very smooth the predator I think has a little more vibration but all of the honda clone motors do. It is not a big deal just keep things torqued and use thread locker. It's a power equipment motor that's used on generators powerwashers water pumps ext. Gas motors have vibration and power things ex mini bikes and they don't fall apart I'm sure whatever boat you put it on thats rated for 18hp will be just fine. Most people consider reving sensation of a motor the most enjoyable part of life.

      AZL have Y'all ever used rubber grommets between motor & kit? To help with vibration.

    • @tomjones7853
      @tomjones7853 Před rokem

      I imagine the balance shaft is more for energy storage with load. The company can easily balance a crank shaft and never have to make a balance shaft. They most likely do it to keep motor from bogging down easy. The engine vibrates because he has metal on metal at the mounting points and oh yeah its a single cylinder 440cc motor
