The reason the PS3, PS4, and now PS5 had or have no games is because the PS2 took them all.

4 has a massive library.
Ps 2 was hands down the best system the range of games were almost infinite
@@Gatorade69 Maybe he means the Ps2 had well over 4000 games while the Ps4 only has 2000+. And the Xbox only has under 100 less games, which really is nothing when you’re talking about thousands of games. But comparing over 4000 to under half of it, thats a pretty big margin
@Angelo Griffith He said the PS3, PS4 and PS5 "had or have no games." I would think obviously It's an exaggeration. Sure, PS2 had a lot more games but that doesn't mean the PS4 "Had no games." Like I said, exaggeration.

I'm sure 99% of everyone watching this video knows the PS2 is the top selling game console of all time so obviously they made so many variations of it all can be justified in my eyes. I love the PS2 always have and will STILL love the PS2 I own to this day
Apparently my cousin has had possession of one of the automotive blue models for years, using it as a coaster, lol. Since learning it was so rare, it's been cleaned up and treated much better now.

aw yeah, big ole fat boy PS2. still have mine my parents got me for christmas in 2001, that monster lasted at least 16 years before the laser couldnt read anymore, 2 years from graduation and it finally quit on me. best console ive ever had and the longest lasting.
Then there were my ps2 slims which had to fixed after every 6 months, really miss my fat boy

7:17 I know I'm really late to this haha but just an insight here, there's quite a few of the aqua blue variant being sold in the UK on eBay at the moment. Obviously with some variation, they're generally going for around £50 to £100 unboxed (really not that expensive, about the same as the standard model), £200 boxed and up to £500 brand new - I thought you might like to know! Great video as always, I love your style and sense of humour :)
It's almost funny how Char Aznable got as many as TWO different consoles themed after his mobile suits in the 6th console generation. There's the red Zaku GC and then there's the golden Hyaku-Shiki PS2, it's almost as if one company saw another do a Char console and said "quick, we gotta respond with a Char variant of our own!". Other than these two there were never any other consoles dedicated to him or any other Gundam character. I don't think they were tied to any specific Gundam related event either, it's just Sony and Nintendo all of a sudden decided to release Char variants of their consoles for no reason within a relatively short time window between them.
And then the only Char themed games systems we've gotten since have been handhelds like the 3DS

Normal PS2's are expensive across the pond! In the UK you can pick these up easy from people just throwing them out for free or up to £20-30 in working condition

saw a pink slim go for €50 at a popular chain used gaming gear store. came back the next day to buy it but someone else snagged it.
also saw the automotive edition yellow for sale for €500 in a vintage store run from an old basement under a really old like 19th century building in the city center. apparently someone fished it out of a skip/dumpster and brought it in

they sell for 150-200 and 300-600 in the box for the gold gundam model at 5:34 . So essentially yes they can and will go for more then a ps4.

Some of the more erath toned colours, were prices that you could win in a draw or something. Back in 2003/05'ish here in Denmark. They were never on sale here. It was right before the silver fatt and the slim quickly came on the market some time later.

the pre release colored PSX reminds me of the prerelease photos of the wii from 2006, where they advertised "lime green" and "cherry red" which they did eventually release in i believe the new super mario bros bundle.

I bought a like brand new Black PS2 Slim for £78, boxed with manuals. The console, controller, wires and manuals are pristine. Only a little more than a regular used PS2 but way less than a Brand New sealed PS2. A happy medium as plan to use the console but keep in excellent condition.
Left 4 Dev Kit’s in a shed when we moved about 8-9 years ago. All said ‘TEST’, and all without region restrictions. Was a stupid mistake, but it could be worse…
My grandad left the first ever Atari ST dev kit in the UK in his attic when he moved…

I got a Aqua Blue PAL on a second hand shop in its box with a box of controllers for Buzz, microphones for sing star and few regular dualshock controllers. Also there were Buzz, Sing Star and few other games. All for 10€.

I have multiple PS2s. 1 of them is the OG satin silver from my childhood as well as a PAL pink slim unit. Had some other colours that I gave away because I'm too nice. My fave colour is Blue and I'm a huge Ratchet & Clank fan so I think I want that Toy Blue PS2.

What's it connected with ? I found one at Goodwill and I got one of those cheapo HDMI converters but the picture looks really fuzzy. I did snag a pair of component cables which look good but I can only use it on older televisions. I know there's better options for upscaling but they are a bit pricey. I guess I'll just continue to emulate PS2 so I can increase the the resolution and use stuff like anti ailising that makes the games look really good.
@@Gatorade69 you can buy a component to HDMI adapter off amazon and just use that to connect to your modern tv.

Those give me major Wii vibes; the glossy finish, the slim design, even the little flap open tab thing at the bottom, it all looks so similar. Maybe Nintendo got a little inspiration from Sony back in the day when designing the Wii :P

I have some PS2 with me, specially japan editions to play japanese games.
My favourites are Ocean Blue and Midnight Blue, they look similar but once side by side you can spot the differences. To just play I run a simple slim silver japanese PS2.
For some time I also had a PSX, a working condition one, it used to ran smooth, fast and quiet. Menu was a bit weird and navigating it was odd, guess they were still figuring out the new menu system. I would play DVDs on it and was my main DVD player for years until it died.
Probably the rarest PS2 out there, and surprised you missed it, is the PS2 TOOL, basically the dev kit studios would use to develop games. It's like a normal fat PS2 but extra huge. You can find them out there but they requiere some work and passwords to run.

Wait, i had super slim red variant back in middle school, i never knew it was Japan exclusive since mine bought locally on specialized retail that also modchip the console, i guess it was an import one, sadly the unit died and was sold to e-waste recycler back in 2013

I had a Superman ps2 I got from my neighbor before he left idk if it was custom or sold like that but it had the Superman logo with skyscrapers on the background
I bought a PS2 for $30 a few months ago and I got a pleasant surprise when it arrived, it had a hard drive adaptor included and came in the original box, the best part though was that it already had a mod chip and the previous owner didn't even know (I only found out because I put my Japanese copy of Final Fantasy 12 in our of random curiosity one day)
Love my silver PS2 (FAT) got 3 silver pads for it. I also have the original black. I might start collecting different colours.
I got a stain sliver ps2 slim I'm trying to buy a fat model.
I got one of those now ultrarare bravia ps2 combinations for about 140 euros, used of course and it still works. I am super happy :)
my freind had a fat ps2 growing up that scratched the hell out of his games after a while but he got a silver slim which i now have. I had a slim but now have a fat model and he does as well and they keep running pretty well just have to clean the laser every so often

Hi! Sony Bravia ps2 owner here!! The Bravia tv model wasnt just a europe exclusive it was actually exclusively a UK release sold in the electronic chain richer sounds and only in richer sounds shops

I’m surprised you never mentioned the TEST PS2! A local game store I go to has one. It’s a fat ps2 with the word “TEST” in the PS2 font replacing the word “PS2”. I get that it’s not intended to be a product for the mass market, but there’s plenty of em out there and to me it’s practically another edition of the PS2.
Certain models can play games from any region, and even burned discs if you burn them using software Sony made for developers. I have one previously owned by Rockstar Vienna (if the label-printer stickers are to be believed) but annoyingly the laser is dying.
I hope you can do one of this for PSPs.

I have 4 ps2's & a stack of NCAA, MLB, NFL, NFL COACH, NHL, & NBA games that still work.
The only rare ps2 that gets my attention are the ones that still work.
Im glad I now know that I wasn't the only one who had issues with the fat PS2 models bricking on me. Went through 2 of them as a kid before getting a slim model that lasted me until the PS3 came out, then I sold it.

I had the opposite happen to me. The two slim ps2s we had died insanely quick. The fat model I bought second hand is still running to this day.

oceanic blue is he one i love the most, all transparent consoles are the coolest
On the reliability front, in my experience I've had an original PS2 since '08 and it still works fine, on the other hand between '09 and '15 I had THREE slim consoles break (both versions).
Sometimes I think you just get high then chill as you make these.
I have one that I have named the ASIS1000 edition.
I bought it from a pawn shop as-is for $10.00 and kept the price sticker on it.
Didn’t know the yellow was rare had it for years until it just stopped working still got it in storage somewhere

That red ps2 slim was released in México bundled with a copy of god of war
as a fan of both ps2's and yellow, i very muc enjoyed the yellow ps2. the one that's yellow. so yellow. and so ps2.
I had the astral blue console I won it in a competition in Australia when I was 7-8 for writing a poem about it. It was something like ps2 makes me drool, the games on it are all so cool. Hahah. It broke after 3-4 years, the disk drive got stuck and instead of asking to get it fixed I didn’t even think that was possible so I took it out front and smashed it open to see what was inside. Lol.

There’s a weird, super rare (maybe) ps2 I’ve only ever seen once in my life.
I was in hospital for around a week over my birthday with a severe concussion when I was maybe.. 10-11?
When I had finally stabilised and recovered, one of the nurses brought me a like.. portable ps2? With a built in screen, so I could play the new Fantastic 4 game I got for my birthday.
I’ve literally never seen it ever again and I’ve been unable to find out anything about it.
I can’t remember if it had a battery for power, or if it was plugged into a wall socket.
