  • My mother has the one up quick rack and I just recently got the super duty. I thought I’d make a video showing the difference between the two to help others and decide which one they want.
    Here is a video showing the release cord setup:

    Awesome video. I’ve had my heavy duty 2 bike one up for almost a month. I love everything about this brand. All aluminum. No plastic pieces. Price is just right compared to the other brands. I just love how slim looking this looks compared to the other brands.

    I just bought the 1 1/4" quick rack for my car. Bought the single and one add-on. Expected to be here Friday which is awesome. Going to another race for my daughter which is 4 hours away so I'll be testing it next weekend. Looks solid.

      Checkout the $18 super duty bar to get 75 lbs weight capacity for each bar. You will need one for each bike pod. So for two bikes you would buy two bars.

    Very useful and well done.
    Is there enough clearance for the bike when there is a spare tire on the rear door using the quick rack?
    Thank you

    is it very quick (tooless quick release) to connect 2nd tray to first tray? i have swing out door like your rav4 and never thought when having a single tray the rear hatch door is likely to clear it

    I saw you had some sort of white nylon cable on the super duty to make it easier to actuate...is that something you did? or something 1Up offers?

    • @colchilibeck

      1UP offers the optional EZpull handle kit for the 2, the 3, and the 4 platform configs (~~$88!!). Colin's nylon cord HACK shown here is WAY less expensive:-)

    Hi can you show how does it look to when you put 4 panels “4 bikes” lifted up into the storage position? Does it touch the car when it is raised into the storage position?

    I have the one your mom has. Is it the same as yours except for the steel reciever hitch part? Just wondering if that part can be swapped out since I no longer have a 1 1/4 receiver. Then I could carry a heavier bike.

    • @colchilibeck
      @colchilibeck  Před rokem +1

      Good question. You would need to reach out to 1up to confirm that.

    Thanks for that. I only need a single and my eBike is 62 pounds, but I'd probably be fine with the quick rack if I removed the battery.

    • @barbaraflanders9041
      @barbaraflanders9041 Před 11 měsíci

      my bike is also 62 Ils. I assumed one bike at 62 lbs is strong enough to hold ebike with out removing battery. Whick ramp did you get if any to load?

      @cyranodaburgerack8745 Před 11 měsíci

      @@barbaraflanders9041 I found out I can't put a hitch/rack on my car so I sold my 62 lbs eBike and bought a 38 lbs foldable I can fit in my Mini.

    For $20 you can buy a device to convert your 1 1/4-inch hitch receiver to a 2-inch hitch receiver. I use one on my 2007 Prius, it works just fine

    • @colchilibeck
      @colchilibeck  Před rokem

      I use one on our accord. The only thing is it makes the rack stick out further but it isn’t too bad.

    I have a question about the ramp to load my electric bike. I am a small person and my bike is about 48lbs. I sometimes struggle to load the bike. I like to know if your mother has trouble using the ramp. It looks kind of steep. Is it worth it? Thanks.

    • @colchilibeck
      @colchilibeck  Před 11 měsíci

      It depends on how high your vehicle is.
      If it’s a low car, the ramp won’t be too steep.
      But a high vehicle like a truck would make it very steep.
      She uses it and finds it pretty easy.

    I have the same as your mom 1.25inch as well i have a trek 53 pound ebike did you have any issue so far? Im sooo scared the rack can not handle the weight of my bike specially on a rough road.

    • @colchilibeck
      @colchilibeck  Před rokem

      No issues.
      If you take the battery out that would probably be at least 5 lbs weight savings. Maybe even 10lbs.

    if you only needed a single which rack would you buy? I am leaning with super duty for durability. Would you agree?

    • @colchilibeck
      @colchilibeck  Před rokem +1

      If you have a 2” receiver then I would get the super duty.

    Will this rack work with fat tire bikes with fenders?

    • @mrgold3591
      @mrgold3591 Před 10 měsíci

      You will need to buy fat tire spacer kit to spread out the arms for the wider fat tires for around $40. Depending on the fenders, you might have to add something to cover the horizontal part of arm so it won't scratch the top of the fender (something like pool noodle you cut to size). The fenders might not be strong enough and might deform, dent, or bend and the bike might not be 100 secure in the rack.
