Call Me Kevin
The weirdest game on steam
#CallMeKevin #Funny #Gaming - Hry
jazzpunk is such an ‘i had a fever dream once and idk if the game was actually real or not’ type game and i love it
Funny story; the first time I watched someone play this game, I woke up the next morning and actually THOUGHT it was a dream. Took me a while to realize that it really existed. XD
@@elizabethenderfilly7846 Same
@@elizabethenderfilly7846 same
That's exactly how it feels! Especially since the last time I've heard about it was the weird fever dream point in life, like around 8-13
It feels like something the US Army would make during the cold war as propaganda showing what the USSR is like.
the longer videos paired with older nostalgic games is such an amazing pairing
I know. I remember when Kevin said that he was gonna stop the every day posting and just post every few days and I was pretty bummed out, but now I'm super happy about it cause he posts long ass videos instead of 10mijs and he actually looks and sounds way happier.
And woah, bots on CZcams are crazy atm.
@@maxbracegirdle9990 yeah i think it’s def a good balance for him so he can spend more time on videos and hopefully won’t get burnt out as quickly!
Yes exactly , I mean a 50 minutes video about this game!
He's spoiling us
Thanks for Always Watching And Commenting❤️
You’ve been selected as a Winner in my Draw, Please contact me on telegram on the handle above
Agreed, I've been loving the longer videos and the games in the videos are a cherry on top
Kevin not understanding the “water you stupid?” joke is peak accidental comedy

I don’t understand it either
@@alex.g7317 “Water” sounds like “what are”
@@beesknees4178 ok, i get the pun... but why did it say "you stupid" after "water"?
@@meowmeow2XX7 thank you!
The fact that Kevin just stumbled through the whole thing, doing his usual play style, but it consistently progressed the story is really telling
In Soviet Jazzpunk, the random crap IS the game.
It mean the game is designed well then
"Aren't these like super dangerous to cook" like poorly prepared pufferfish isnt something kevin is intimately familiar with
literally was searching for this comment, were we supposed to forgot he’s killed hundreds with poor quality pufferfish?
@@skyegoodman5778 so many Sims...
@@skyegoodman5778 Jim Pickens is coming for you and you'll enjoy a nic plate of 3 day old pufferfish
That's how dry his humor is. It's amazing.
He has the patience to not make the reference, so it brings us down here to discuss it.
He is a comedic genius, who probably would have gotten on well with Andy Kaufman and comedians with a similar inane style. :)
Omg Jazzpunk and Kevin is the chaotic combo I really needed to see and there's 50 minutes of it!?!! Hell yeah
He actually made a video on it a few years ago, but he didn’t finish it back then!
@@Serrifin Yeah I remember seeing that one when it came out! Love this game.
I can't find the video anywhere, anyone remember what it was called?
a whole 50 minutes of kevin playing jazzpunk, we've been blessed ❤
wha...
What the hell is going on
no way
who are you?

Jazzpunk is actually one of my favorite games. Nobody has put out content regarding this game in many years. Thank you Kevin.
Same, I secretely was waiting fot this and I didn't even know.
Jazzpunk was one of the first games I really liked, now I get a wave of nostalgia when ever I see it
I mean, I'm not a big CZcamsr but I definitely played it about the time you made this comment on my channel lmao
@@breakingaustin ill check it out
I'm waiting for someone to make a big retrospective on it
I remember first seeing Jacksepticeye do a play through of this game YEARS ago, and it’s always stuck with me in the back of my head, leaving me to wonder if it was ever actually real. Still love this game to this day.
Same for me, all I remembered was some vague thing about polygons. Seeing this in my recommended was amazing
I remembered the game but didn't remember the name cause I was a little kid still learning English xd. Still as weird as I remember!
same! i was thinking about this the other day
My brain had the same fever dream like approach to it. I could only vaguely recall it and its chaos, but never its name. I wasn’t even sure if it was real. I recently purchased it, and needless to say, money well spent.
This just happened to me today! I even said to myself "Eh well, probably won't be able to find it if I looked " as I have looked for other games and come up with nothing. Love Seeing it being played by another awesome creator.
God i love Jazzpunk. I remember Jacksepticeye playing it. It was just so fun.
I'm 99% sure Kevin played it in the past, too. But the shorter videos don't do justice to a crazy game like this!
@@laras678 omg yeah. I think he did a video back then too. But this game definitely needs a whole play through tbh
Same! I remember it being one of the last series of his that I watched before I lost interest in his content (he was starting to play a lot of Subnautica, and it just really wasn’t my cup of tea). Can’t believe that was like 7 or 8 years ago.
it's like a cracked out Austin Powers

Jazzpunk and The Stanley Parable are some of the best, most strange yet intriguing and mind opening games i have played. Brilliant stuff.
How fa compare these two lmao
The Stanley parable is boring asf
@@displayname2198
I was not comparing the two, i was stating that i personally think those two games are creative masterpieces.
@Leo
That is Your opinion and is perfectly valid.
@@displayname2198 why assume this person is comparing? They are visibly just sharing an opinion?
@@impracticalmondoduke why do you state things as questions? You are incapable of discussion?
Certain kinds of "random" can be very annoying or cringey as hell, but this hit the spot. This game was so strange in such an enjoyable way. And of course it's 10x better when Kevin's the one interacting with that weirdness 🤣 love ya brother hope life's goin well for ya
It's the constant plays on words that prevent this from becoming, "lol teh rand0m" IMO.
@@Ougerosity598 yeah and the very intentional references
Jazzpunk + Kevin + Long Video = Looks like it's going to be a great day!
Fun fact, the part about cereal with a whistle for a certain phone-tone is based on a real story - certain dial tones would access a toll-free line, and this one cereal box came with a whistle that was the *exact* tone.
Was gonna mention that phreaking reference, but glad you mentioned it a year ago
Oh there once was a hacker from the land 'o free,
phreak of nature but he'd crack every system from here to sea.
It was said he's one man you'd never want cross
even though he got his name from a Captain Crunch box
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet;
A Macguffin is a term, first used by film director, Alfred Hitchcock.
Essentially, a Macguffin is the term used for the item or thing that propells the story.
A prime example would be the Ark in the movie, "Raiders of the lost Ark". It sets the main story in motion and propels the plot.
It doesn't always have to be an important, or valuable item, in of itself. It just needs to be of importance to the characters in the story.
Bravo to the devs. For the wink, wink use of the term!
One more reason this game is so amusing!
Cheers from Canada
Alfred Hitchcock popularized it but he didn't invent it. It seems like the earliest use of the concept was by an actor (though the word was different, 'weenie's) but Angus McPhail (I'm guessing Kevin got a brief stint as God and decided to play bitlife with real-people in history because I refuse to believe you get the last name 'McPhail' of natural causes) is the first one to coin the term Macguffin specfically.
Absurdism is an artform and this game is a masterpiece
2:06 "I'm so sorry, I've killed 2 people since I got here" So only accidental deaths can make Kevin feel guilt (but not the intentional ones) 🤔
an accident would make anyone feel bad, even Kevin!!! or though it seems....
The exploding sheep is a reference to Warcraft 3. You have the orc-cursor, hear lines from the orcs and when you keep klicking a sheep in Warcraft 3 it explodes.
I love this game, never heard of Jazzpunk before but the humor in this game is freakin hilarious. This is great.
It's also in Warcraft 2, looks like a recurrent joke,
12:50 the cap crunch whistle is a reference to the cap crunch bosun whistle which was used to get free international calls due to it's frequency. Pretty neat history
@@piupolino2618 indeed! the 8-bit guy has an amazing video on phone phreaking. its super interesting to see how well jazzpunk held up with little to no references being lost over the years!
i love the phone phreaking and xerox park references!
If you type a swear word into any of the Nippon Telnet boxes, it tells you "INFRACTION: YOU ARE FINED ONE CREDIT FOR VIOLATION OF THE VERBAL MORALITIES STATUTE," a reference to Demolition Man.
Another reference to the same movie is the three seashells next to the toilets in Kai-Tak Resort.
The part where he frees the bug from the cogs is actually a reference to computer bugs. (The term actually started because with the first computers, they were huge and a lot of times bugs would get stuck inside and mess up the computer.)
So happy he's playing this again.
Wait he's played this before? I need to see that

I really love the longer videos. It's really easy to relax and chill to Kevin's chaos like it was one of his stream VODs.
Weve been waiting for him to continue jazzpunk for years... Finally the day has come
oh is this the rest of his gameplay from his original playthrough years ago or something? i was kind of cringing at first, thinking he'd made a new video and was reacting like he'd never seen the gags before.
@@na-vn5qy ye, this is not the first time, he replays/continues a game and acts like hes never seen it before. He either forgot he already played the beginning of this or he just pretends he hasnt, so the video is more interesting to the people who didnt see the old one. Idk 🤷🏻♀️
@@1nicejackelfan224 to be fair, his first playthrough was like on 2017, so I think he just forgot.
@@1nicejackelfan224 ah, it's happened before, then? well, no hate intended, it did honestly make me cringe pretty hard to witness, but as a genuine involuntary reaction to the notion of kevin actually fabricating something previously organic for the sake of digestibility, you always wish to see the people you like as consummately authentic, you know, but.
as far as kevin forgetting, idk maybe? but kevin's was the only jazzpunk video i ever watched, when it came out and only once, and literally almost every gag from the first 20 minutes stuck with me hard, as if i'd just seen them the other day. it strikes me as a quite memorable game tbh.

Jazzpunk is just a good example of how to use videogames as an interactive medium. It's not all story telling, but it's all interaction which makes it so good.
I love this game so much, I played it time and time and time again, glad to see you play this too!!
Dude this game was my childhood, I remember watching my favorite CZcamsrs play this many years ago, so glad Kevin is playing it!! Plus a long video?!
Kevin played this before incase you didn't know. It was a very short video but it was still great 😄 Search up callmekevin jazzpunk and you should find it

It's so weird to me that people are just discovering this game now. It was a big part of forming my humor as a youth.
I was laughing a bit before but the fucking "I have 4th degree burns" killed me, oh God I haven't laughed that hard in a long time
This game is amazing. And to think... you didn't even find all the lil hidden gems. Just some of them. Oh man. It's definitely one of my favourite games.
Just wanna share this, CallMeKevin has helped me getting my eating habits under control with his longer videos. I figured one day, I could watch a video while I eat, and it helped me eat slower allowing myself to feel fuller faster, thus limiting my portions to smaller sizes, helping me drop 60 lbs in just a year, making me feel physically healthier and becoming mentally healthier in the process. Kevin has helped me get healthy. Thank you Kevin, for everything! All of your videos are absolutely amazing and hilarious!
The phone and the whistle is a reference to the original hackers “phone phreaks” who used a whistle to spoof a phone into giving them a free call
Kevin constantly going what the hell is a macguffin and sesrching fornit everywhere was perfect (a macguffin is an object that functions as a plot device to the characters, but is usually unimportant or even unknown to the viewer, ex: the briefcase in pulp fiction.)
50 minutes of Kevin playing the weirdest game Steam this is awesome
You've lured two bots here. Well done.

i love this game! it's been a favorite of mine for years. we need more weird games like this
This is genuinely one of my favourite games after seeing the first minute. I have to buy this thing because it has literally everything I want from a game. Reminds me of Stanley Parable in the way stuff just happens and all the choices.
its both very weird and very nice to see Kevin actually complete games for a change 🤣
Loving these longer videos Kevin. They are genuinely so much more fun to watch and more enjoyable than the shorter ones.
Kevin's superpower is taking the weirdest game ever, and making it even weirder, and that's why we love him so much.
Agreed haha
Jazz punk is a classic game we all remember it so many CZcamsrs used to play it like seven years ago which is crazy
Since Kevin is currently in the mood of doing full game videos on games that he’s already played on the channel that finally does these great games some justice, I would love to see Kevin go back and play the entirety of the Henry Stickmin Collection plz.
Really hoping these 40+ minute videos continue. Excellent way to spend an hour for me every few days
Remember when longer video's were the norm on youtube :/
Man your hours are weird xD

I thought this game was just a weird dream that I mistook for a memory!! Its so great to see that its actually exists and not some bizarre creation from my subconscious
omg just the other day i dreamt of the apartment part of the game and thought i went insane lmao
The amount of effort put into each minigame is astounding.
These longer form videos almost make up for the missing “hello everyone, I’m Kevin and you can call me Kevin. Today we’re doing something a little bit different”. Love all your videos Kevo, these long forms are amazing! I miss your streams a lot (I still subscribe, just in case), but the longer videos make up for it ♥️
I miss him asking us "Hey there friends, how's it going?" : (
He has short form vids?
Loved the long form video for this one Kevin. I remember playing through this on PlayStation, such a fun and unique experience. A rarity to see a game with such a strong theme and style.
im really enjoy the long playthroughs cause its giving kevin a chance to go through some of the older games he played once and really get the full experience out of the game
I hope you are doing well Kevin. I like the long form. I thought that it would just be temporary. But you have released several longform videos, of which I am very appreciative. I just hope that you are doing well mentally and physically. It’s a lot of work putting out this much content this often.

The pizza scene was very reminiscent of Kevin's bad story: The Haunted Pizza which was arguably a great story
I've always wished someone I watched would do a long playthrough of this game, loved this vid Kevin!!!
Definitely the game for you Kevin. I about died when you were punching the Honda. That was from a Robot Chicken bit about Street Fighter or Mortal Combat where one of the guys had to go and fight a Honda and he couldn't believe it and thought it was stupid, but then he got really into beating up the car.

Yes CallMeKevin give me 2010’s gaming CZcams nostalgia
Watched a playthrough back in the day and eventually got jt for myself. Genuinely surprised how much both myself and the other person I watched missed, I thought I knew a lot about this game but Kevin keeps on finding stuff I never had a clue about
Gotta say I’m really loving these long videos, I appreciate any Kevin content, but these full experiences are really entertaining and it’s nice to see more than usual. I just hope this sort of thing doesn’t burn you out!
I do have to say. I dig the longer videos. Feels like more of an adventure with Kevin :)
Omg Jazzpunk is so nostalgic!! A lot of the jokes went over my head when I was younger! Really loving the longer videos too :)
We need more games like jazzpunk. I'd love to see someone make a game that had randomly generated levels that was even half a bizarre and weird as this game.
Loving the long format videos like this.
This is so nostalgic cuz this was one of my favourite games back in secondary school, and a few weeks ago I actually searched to see if Kevin had already played it so. Guess he's a mindreader now, neat.

ive been thinking about this game for years. i remember watching playthoughs of it on youtube when i was a bit younger, i was obsessed with the style and the weirdness. i remember it occupying the same space in my mind as octodad for the time i was interested in both games. for so long, i've wondered what that game was, or if it was even real, and now i know its real and even the name ! thank you kevin :) a childhood(ish) mystery solved
