Here's an easy way to get rid of love locks. Make a regular competition who can cut most love locks in 2 minutes. You'll have ten cutters and ten contestants at a time. Even more. Each participant will have a designated section. Winner will get a certificate that he helped to maintain Prague's architectural heritage and battle vandalism and your book. Second and third place will get a t-shirt with your signature. The rest will get a diploma. You'll clean the fence in no time, no effort and minimal cost.

Graffiti occurs from some mix of boredom, wanting to be remembered, artistic talent, lack of socially-acceptable space to express that talent, a society that isolates, does not care for, and even actively persecutes some of its people, finding community via graffiti art/tagging, lack of respect for one's society/town, and difficulty surviving at all.
I don't condone graffiti, but a lot of the root cause could be eliminated by better social policy, and I can at least understand rebellion when you're being trampled by society.

2:04 "In Paris, they do it the other way around" "Never heard of it" After spending so much time chasing scammers, Janek finally became one himself (at least this "scam" is a chaotic good one) 😂 If it depends on the people who get schadenfreude (6:24 "I wanna cut love"), you might be able to actually make that a tradition 💔
Whether or not love locks are considered ritual deposits or destructive vandalism depends on the culture (cities like Verona, Pécs, and Moscow have erected metal structures for the sole purpose of accommodating love-locks), but at the very least it's something that needs to be kept under control (the weight of the locks presents a safety issue, since it can cause the structures they're on to collapse).
