    Question. Since this was new metal did you just sand it or did you use an itching primer. The mild steel I am using is very smooth. I tried a sander and nothing happened really but that's on the inside skirt. I want to prep the outside better and might try a hand held sand blaster kit to get things rough without digging to much into the steel.

    • @lonestarlows
      @lonestarlows  Před 4 lety +2

      It wasnt new metal. I had a mobile sand blaster come and sand blast the floors. Then 2 coats of epoxy primer that has a 7 day recoat window and sprayed the raptor directly over the epoxy primer within the recoat window.

    • @lonestarlows

    • @deankay4434
      @deankay4434 Před 3 lety +1

      @GetMooreProductions >The type of paint that must be use, comes from the paint shop. Paint is pigment, resins, drying agent. This does not use resins, as that will thin out the color. A single stage or base color is used with only the drying agent added. The drying agent changes the pigment into a shiny single stage or urethane enamel. With out the drying agent, it will not cure or cross-link. No reason for the resins or binders as this weakens the color. Only the drying agent is needed and the Raptor has the resin or binder in it, and obviously the hardener is added. Otherwise, the color is weakened or fades 20% of original color. This is what I understand from paint shops.
      I hope this helps as the folks who made the video did not respond.

    Few things I'll say the reason they probably don't send a whole gallon kit is because you use the quart sizes to spray on to the gun if you had to hold a whole gallon spraying the whole time it would be impossible to do it very nicely secondly you're not using the hardener to reduce the texture you're using the PSI to do the texturing so 40 PSI is going to give you a thicker texture vs 70 PSI is going to give you a thinner texture it has nothing to do with that mixing procedure
