A looney for 15 minutes of power??? That landlord will make a ton of money. At $0.18 Kwh and $3.80 for Cubic meter of water ( 220 gallons) . Since the average washer uses about $0.10 of electricity and about 40 gallons of water, hehehe can make lots of money
cost of usage is to cover wear and tear on machine, water and electricity cost.
Ok, lets do the math. Lets use the Toronto Hydro Appliance Usage charts as a guide.
A washer runs for just under an hour with full load , you want $4 (looney for 15 minutes)
A dryer will need almost the same, another $4.www.torontohydro.com/sites/electricsystem/residential/yourbilloverview/Pages/ApplianceChart.aspx
A washer will consume less then $0.10 of electricity/load
A dryer will consume just under $0.60/load
You want $8 to wash and dry a load of laundry.
Just using average prices of brand new washer and driers plus two coin machines, you're lookin at around $2000
in 250 loads the machines are completely paid for.
Most machines in small rental units see an average of 4 uses a day.
In just over two months the washer, dryer, and coin machines are paid for. At two uses a day it would take under five months
Like I said , the landlord is going to make a ton of money with a payback period like that . You actually think the landlord is going to replace the machines every six months when washers and dryers easily last five years, often ten years? Nope they'll just continue to rip off the tenant.
A washer will spend a lot more than 10 cents on electricity, what planet do you live in sir? 🤦♂️
@@T2HeadedEagle At $0,14 Kwh(mid day-hight rate in Ontario) and with a washer running at an average of 500 watts, running for 40 minutes to an hour. You're right, I should have said $0.10 or less . Industrial machines use abut 3 to 4 times as much.
What the f**k is a "loony"
canadian dollar is called a loonie. Works with american quarters also.
