Edgar you are absolutely correct with your experience with the truck stop card system. Any managed system whether bill changer or card system needs to be monitored and properly maintained. If a critical part of the system goes down (and malfunctions) management needs to respond quickly to get the device up and running as quickly as possible and to make good on any claims. Obviously that was not your experience. This can happen with any system coin or card. If you can not get quarters for your washer, your in the same boat as with a defective card system.

@AmericanArab - Laundry Card systems have been around for 15+ years and I have never heard of a system totall going down (but that does not mean too much). The systemshave 2 seperate and independent computers each with their own power supplies and battery back-up. If one computer goes down the other takes over seamlessly. On the remote chance that both go down, then there are "wizard cards" that will allow an attendand to start the washers for Free. Then at least you are running.

How realistic or cost effective would it be to have both card and coin systems in the same laundry facility? Do you have locations where both options are available?
