Andy/Alex...the entire Sabotage disc documents Ozzy's most powerful vocals of the 70's era. It's my favorite album and cements Sabbath as the Godfathers of Metal. Glad you guys love it!!
Symptom of the Universe is brilliant. Heavy metal wasn't a genre at the time and this is different than rock or hard rock. So how do we define this dark demonic sound with it's heavenly ending? This is my favorite reaction by you guys. Call me biased but I love Black Sabbath and you guys nailed it.
Ozzy is a big Beatles fan. The thing i found interesting about BS is they are not really that far removed from the zeitgeist of the time. They were a band who started in the late 60s looking for something to set themselves apart. They wanted their different take on what was happening and they ended up inventing heavy metal just how Velvet Underground invented alternative. Such a great song. Btw, look for the clip explaining how Toni Iommi lost his fingers in a factory accident. This had a big part in the Sabbath sound.

Great job guys, what you're doing makes me so happy. Bringing generations together through music, priceless.

If you want to do another song from Sabotage...a lot of ppl will say 'Meglomania' and that is a great song, but really the one that I think will be more of what you like in Black Sabbath would be 'The Writ' which is the final song on the album. Its amazing in the amount of changes and Ozzy vocals. Incredible song....I think you both will find it very impressive.
My friend had a two door Ford maverick he had 2 home Kenwood speakers (awesome home stereo speakers back in the day) wired in his car and they basically took up the whole back seat. So they were like a foot and a half behind us. We would roll up to the school parking lot blasting this song. The smoke and music erupting out of the car. Good times.
I will add my theory and agree with Bill Ward, the drumming is a percussive orchestration. He never realised how good he really was. Great song, The Writ from this album is also really good 🤘🤘🤘🤘
You can’t go wrong with any of the songs on this album but the 3 other standouts are Megalomania, The Thrill of It All and The Writ! If you ever want to hear something superbly unique by Sabbath that happens to be one of their songs that qualifies as being uplifting - then check out, “Spiral Architect,” off Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. It’s one of those songs that is a “must hear” for anyone delving into Black Sabbath.
This is one of my FAVORITE Black Sabbath songs and because I haven't listened to this song in a while, I LITERALLY GOT CHILLS from Bill Ward's drumming!!! He's just so good and I definitely thought that this song was better produced than the Tool song from Monday. I actually prefer Black Sabbath over Tool, but we're entitled to have our own opinions. YESSSS please do more Black Sabbath songs and I think it'd be cool to look into Black Sabbath's stuff after Ozzy Osbourne and after Bill Ward, just so that we can see if they were still able to maintain that standard without some members! Hi guys! "Geezer Butler" was the bass player... king of the hammer-on! Being a bass player myself, I learned everything I could from him! This needs a 17 out of 10. Geezer is the man. Great reaction again. You have done Sabbath, Maiden, Megadeth but you need to do Judas priest. Start with 70s Priest and work up to Painkiller to see how the band evolves. Victim of Changes or Beyond the Realms of death would be a great start. You cannot leave Judas Priest out of the metal discussion and their impact on metal. Tipton and Downing influenced the dual guitar attack so much. And singer Rob Halford. Ok ... first of all when you listen to symptom of the universe you have to listen to the short classical guitar instrumental which precedes it called "don't start(too late)" otherwise yr really missing out on its proper setup. Now then ... fasten yr seatbelts and checkout this killer set: Sabbath: don't start; master of reality Sabbath: symptom..; master of reality Priest: dissident aggressor; sin aftr sin Priest: victim of changes; unleashed in the east Then for dessert: The studio version of neon knights With ronnie james dio singing When he temporarily replaced ozzy in sabbath on the heaven and hell album
That intro riff was 'borrowed' by Diamond Head on Am I Evil. (later covered by Metallica on Garage Inc). Check out the Diamond Head version fellas , and play it loud - it's fantastic.
Great reaction again guys, I was very lucky to see them in the UK in 1975 on The Sabotage tour. On the album the last part of Symptom of the Universe leads nicely into the next track Megalomania, so maybe a good choice for the next Sabbath reaction. Hole in the Sky was a great opener too.
It was DAMN time to check out this track! And for good reason, it was a straight BANGER, a 10 all across the board, cheers guys! 🔥🤟🏻🤟🏻

This particular song created modern heavy metal, the riff is what lead to everything that came after. Tony Iommi does it again!
Tony iommi is the riff master of the universe, not matched by anyone in metal!!!
O melhor guitarrista no quesito criatividade da história do universo.
I would add he’s also thee master of hooks and turn arounds.
Correct, sir. Tony Iommi pretty much single handedly created Heavy Metal and the quintessential metal riff.
Randy Rhoads is all im gonna say

Bill Ward's drums are absolutely insane on this masterpiece of doomy sludgehammer heaviosity.

Another great reaction , the first 8 Sabbath albums are all stellar . Yes, even Technical Ecstasy .Great job
Was always such a great song for them to start a concert out with. Definitely got everybody jumping
Nice job and a killer song...decades of love for this whole album...Trippin in the late 70's ...Headphones with it are so SICK the mixing is sublime and flows over you...But, even though you love it when you hear it but, you need to hear it a thousand times before you know how great it is...:)
Ok ... first of all when you listen to symptom of the universe you have to listen to the short classical guitar instrumental which precedes it called "don't start(too late)" otherwise yr really missing out on its proper setup.
Now then ... fasten yr seatbelts and checkout this killer set:
Sabbath: don't start; master of reality
Sabbath: symptom..; master of reality
Priest: dissident aggressor; sin aftr sin
Priest: victim of changes; unleashed in the east
Then for dessert:
The studio version of neon knights
With ronnie james dio singing
When he temporarily replaced ozzy in sabbath on the heaven and hell album
That intro riff was 'borrowed' by Diamond Head on Am I Evil. (later covered by Metallica on Garage Inc). Check out the Diamond Head version fellas , and play it loud - it's fantastic.
This song is so fuckin good, the bridge led to another song practically!!! Masterpiece 👍🍻🙏❤❤❤❤
The album, Sabotage (1975) is an often overlooked classic. Megalomania & The Writ are monster songs!
Great reaction guys to a great song. Its of their 6th album
Bill Ward on drums. Fantastic!!
That jazzy part in the end is the highlight in the song.
The ultimate song to headbang to 🎸
