  • A quick video showing the basic steps I took in painting this base. Inspired by the video game "Mechanicus", I put this together themed base together as a test for a potential Kill Team. I like the effect so much, I may my get all of my Skitarii based in this way.
Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.

The use of a baby wipe is so genius! That's such a fantastic way to simulate that effect. Gah, if I had an airbrush, I'd love to use that method! Seriously, well done, that looks marvelous!

Green stuff world has a handheld airbrush pump for cheap and a gun will cost ya about $20

No problem. I can see no reason why not. This method could be applicable to any colours really.

You could give it a go with spray paint, but that might be a little heavy and unwieldy. Maybe try gentle jabs with small make-up brushes?

Did you make the base yourself or is it purchased?

I made it myself with a sheet of plain plasticard. I have another short showing the rough method, if you are interested.

The fine one was from Meeden (amzn.to/43nBpc0) the chunky one from Zhu Ting (amzn.to/43oHm8y). I hope this helps.

Pro tip: find a Vallejo or Amy painter equivalent of those paints. GW makes their paints so they dry quickly, so you can green back to painting as quickly as possible. If you use that in an airbrush, I assume you can see how this will go. Now it you are very careful, it works, but just make it easier in yourself
