- A quick video showing the basic steps I took in painting this base. Inspired by the video game "Mechanicus", I put this together themed base together as a test for a potential Kill Team. I like the effect so much, I may my get all of my Skitarii based in this way.
Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.

The use of a baby wipe is so genius! That's such a fantastic way to simulate that effect. Gah, if I had an airbrush, I'd love to use that method! Seriously, well done, that looks marvelous!
Green stuff world has a handheld airbrush pump for cheap and a gun will cost ya about $20
It's a good start
@@silverblondguy3 that is actually so awesome to know! Thank you friend! I appreciate that, as someone who has very little hobby space, that is so awesome to hear about. Thank you!
That is absolutely crazy. Such an amazing result with such an easy process.
Outstanding technique
That’s genius!
Absolutely amazing techniques
I love this thanks for sharing would this work for drukari for dark marble
No problem. I can see no reason why not. This method could be applicable to any colours really.
Nice
Amazing👍
Ist fantntastic and "marblelous".
wow that's awesome ! Is it possible to do this but without an airbrush ?? Thx
You could give it a go with spray paint, but that might be a little heavy and unwieldy. Maybe try gentle jabs with small make-up brushes?
Your making me wanna do a bllod red one or aa blue one for my Soulblight Vampires 😅
You could probably use the same technique When painting D & D marble for like pillars or basis for bigger greek-style model
Did you make the base yourself or is it purchased?
I made it myself with a sheet of plain plasticard. I have another short showing the rough method, if you are interested.
This is awesome, considering testing this on some armour panels! Do you know what the comparative reds would be for this?
Dark red (any type) Khorne red, mephiston red, lightning with fyreslayer orange
Where did you get bases
What paint brush were you using?
The fine one was from Meeden (amzn.to/43nBpc0) the chunky one from Zhu Ting (amzn.to/43oHm8y). I hope this helps.
@@RookieBrushes ok thank you! 🙏
I will try with without a airbrush...
Pro tip: find a Vallejo or Amy painter equivalent of those paints. GW makes their paints so they dry quickly, so you can green back to painting as quickly as possible. If you use that in an airbrush, I assume you can see how this will go. Now it you are very careful, it works, but just make it easier in yourself
