This review was not just for people who don't have an issue eating "dirty" keto but also to inform those who want to eat "clean" or that have wheat/gluten sensitivities. I also felt it was important, given the number of comments I read in other videos about how this bread "will spike your insulin and knock you out of ketosis", that I share how this impacted my blood glucose readings. I'm not dogmatic about keto and I respect people's right to eat this stuff or avoid it. I have no vested interest either way.

Steve you look a bit like Ryan
Secrest in this video. You can
take that as a compliment by my
standards. I have not got to try the Aldis bread yet but if the one
here has it I guess sooner or later
I will try it. I saw on line this bread
SOLO have you seen that yet? They have hotdog buns and loaf
bread and I believe hamburger buns and some other stuff. You
can get it in packages of loaf
bread and a few other things.
Maybe you could check that out
and see what you think. Thanks
for the review on that bread. I
believe I have seen they have two
different kinds of loaf bread at
      Aldis. Well thanks again.

      Hi Steve!
Thank you for reading the ingredients to us, and sharing your blood glucose tests... good to know...
I have experienced that vital wheat gluten, as a base for low carb homemade bread, like Deidre’s, makes my knees ache! But this has the gluten in the middle of the list... so I am going to find it and try it... thank you Steve! 😃👍🏻

    Prior to eating: 84
    30 minutes after eating: 99
    60 minutes after eating: 94

Great vid. So.. meat is mildly insulinogenic so maybe those ham slices could have gave that bread an even bigger “spike” (if one cld even call it that). Maybe slight raise is more appropriate. But I get it, one would typically have an actual sandwich w/ this bread, not just the bread alone.
As a “ketovore”, constant Ketosis isn’t my goal. Being 95% carnivore (keto are my cheat meals), I leave ketosis once or twice a day. It’s more about insulin spikes. Meat has a very mild & short insulin raise, unlike carbs of course where they’ll spike, last a long time, & mess w/ hormones.
Also, have you ever tried Joseph’s pita & lavish breads? They are really low carb, keto friendly. I make a killer cheese quesadilla out of their lavish bread and it takes 5 mins so I’m not cooking all day.

I just found this channel today.... Ive been a yoyo low carb dieter for years... FIrst after my son was born in 2011. I went from 240 to 180 lbs in 90 days. Of course it went back on almost as easy. Its been between 185-225 ever since. I watched all of your transformation videos, and was SHOCKED at the parallels in our stories. Same height, same weight, same habits, same across the board.
Tonight, I hit up aldi and found this bread. I bought 2 loaves. First thing I made tonight was grilled cheese sammich. HOLY SHIZ... Ive tried every type of bread on the planet and this is amazing. The texture was great, the taste was as close to legit bread as ive ever tasted. Wish they made bagels and buns. I am a bread junkie. IN fact I always promise to make a bread and butter diet, because I could eat that for life.
THanks for this video, and your journey. Ill check back with you near the end of summer when Im at my goal weight. Youve also given me the motivation to take my journey further than the past. I always figured my ideal weight was 175, I too am 5'9". I am pretty broad shouldered and carry a lot of muscle, so 155 may be aggressive, but I think i realize now that 175 might just be goal #1.

I am so excited - I finally found Aldi's zero net carb bread in my local Aldi's! One of the first things I did after bringing my loaf home and opening it was to process the heels into bread crumbs, and this evening I made breaded eggplant. The bread crumbs exceeded my expectations. It fried well without falling off in the pan and burning on the bottom of the pan like other low carb products I've bought. It has a firmer "bite" than regular bread crumbs, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It also didn't soak up the oil - I used 1/4 cup of oil to shallow fry 10 eggplant rounds and still had most of the oil left when I was done. I'm pretty sure these are going to work really well with salmon patties. Gonna make some this evening. My husband will be so happy. Thanks for your great videos and honest opinions.

I’ve been playing around with a breadcrumb recipe from one of my viewers. It’s 3 parts Aldi breadcrumbs, 1 part crushed pork rinds, and 1/3 part almond powder. I make my almond powder by drying out the pulp from when I make almond milk, then running it through a spice grinder (coffee grinder).

I have been able to get the Aldi zero carb bread for a while now. I didn't eat it at first because I was staying clean keto but I caved in during quarantine. I agree with your review of taste and texture. I really find it pretty tasteless. I did cinnamon toast, French toast and some PB&J (sliced strawberries for J) but I didn't even think about grilled cheese!😲 Definitely going to do that soon - cut in triangles, of course!! 😉. I didn't check my blood glucose when eating it and I had other dirty keto stuff for about a month during quarantine and for that month I didn't lose any weight, even with IF, and I had 25 lbs more to go to my goal weight. When I got much more "clean" I started losing weight again, so just a warning for folks about getting too "dirty".

Thank you for the great video! I tried the Aldi "red bag" white bread, and it was very mediocre, though to me, is fine for slathering some peanut butter on it for a snack. Then I bought the "orange bag" multi seed" bread, and was very happy with it. It is also zero net carbs, and has more flavor than the white "red bag" keto bread, which tasted kind of like cardboard to me. I'm from Austria, so i grew up eating pumpernickel, rye, and other more hearty breads. I was never a fan of white "cotton" bread. I have been checking out the recipes for making keto bread, and I believe I would rather buy this bread for $4.00 a loaf, then go through all the time and trouble of making bread. I had 2 "club" sandwiches for breakfast (because the bread is smaller pieces, and zero net carbs), and it is great to find a bread that will not spike my blood sugar, and actually tastes pretty decent. It also does make a pretty good grilled cheese, though I fried mine in a pan with a little butter, old school style, instead of toasting it. When it comes down to it, adding some good meat, cheese, or bacon is surely going to make this bread taste even better....Peace!

To bowl, add 3 TB egg whites, 1tsp mayo, pinch of salt, 1TB softened cream cheese, 1/2 tsp baking powder, a pinch of your choice sweetner, 2TB almond flour and this is optional but I personally add it myself; 1/2tsp phsyllium husk and 1/2 tsp water. Just mix everything well and cook in waffle iron....I make so many I use my big waffle iron...DASH No-Drip Belgian Waffle Maker, which I bought after Steve demonstrated it when he first bought it...and I LOVE it whenever I make any of my chaffels. And too I usually will add onion/garlic/italian seasoning to my chaffel mix...depending on what I feel like having. I use these chaffels for all kinds of sandwiches and even breakfast sandwiches!

The Aldi stores near me now keep this in stock all the time and I have been buying a loaf nearly every week. I haven't noticed any ill affects from eating it, other than if I eat too much all that fiber can... well... do what fiber does! I've been canning a lot of vegetables on the weekends, and making a quick sandwich is pretty much all the "meal prep" time I have. It's been really nice having a BLT and a grilled cheese sandwich after not having one for YEARS. The only thing about it that bothers me is the cost for the size of the loaf. I've calculated the cost of making a loaf of low carb bread (Diedre's recipe) and the cost is about the same, but I don't have to make it or clean up after making it. I think it's great! As a bariatric post-op (20 years), this bread doesn’t cause me sugar issues or “dumping.”
They offer both white & wheat versions at my local Aldi (always in stock). It is more than sufficient for a keto dieter looking for bread without guilt.
I use it to lower overall daily sugar load for myself, family and grandkids.
I use it to make French Toast, p&j (for the kids), and “keto custard” in a hole in the air fryer. I love the white bread in grilled cheese sandwiches (I use Mayo, not butter on the bread) and open faced with tuna fish or chicken salad.
The cost per loaf is so worth it since I don’t have to make bread any longer.

Great video. I like the methodology you use and that you make the disclaimer that the results are really only valid for you. Until I discovered this bread, I missed the TEXTURE of bread (and toast). While I missed the flavor, I discovered (after eating some) that it was really the texture of bread. In addition, most of the bread "substitutes" I've tried on keto weren't flavor satisfying, except for Fat Head bread. Even psyllium breads that I make at home had a slightly odd mouth feel (thought they were really tasty). But, I love the toasted crunch that this bread brings back. While I still miss the flavor of artisan loaves of bread, this Aldi bread really delivers on the texture front. I get the flavor from whatever I slather it with! Thanks for your work.

I picked up a loaf today - glad for your review. Now I won't have unrealistic expectations when I try it. I also picked up Aldi's zero carb parmesan jalapeno crackers. Those are really good - better than I expected. I like your reviews of food- if you don't like something, you say so in a nice way. Thank you for your videos.

I’ll have to get some of those crackers. Thanks for the heads up. 👍🏻

I love this bread. It grows on you. When I think I'm about to binge on sometime I have a couple of pieces of toasted keto bread with a tablespoon of butter on each. Cravings gone. Almost no carbs, good amount of fat. It's the perfect snack to my mind.

no ,no, no, NEVER refrigerate bread...put in freezer and take out what you need. thanks for this review...i was wondering about this bread. probably wouldnt eat often, bc the ingredients-- it is filled with processed foods but cant wait to try french toast!

The best thing about this bread is that it lets you be normal. I can grill out with my family and just have a burger on a "bun" like a normal human. And as long as it helps me keep my sanity as I try to lose another 60lbs; I couldn't care less if it spikes my blood sugar a little bit more than a meal without it.

There’s definitely something to be said for that. It can be hard feeling like the odd one out in a family of non-keto people.

The occasional treat with the bread would be ok for the majority of people.

Our local bread bakery makes keto bread and has started making keto burger buns now too. I like the buns because i can just take the buns out of the freezer one at a time. Great review!

Thank you for this review. There is an Aldi right across the street from our Apt. complex. I have been wanting to try it and now I will. Always enjoy your reviews.

I agree on all you said. Grilled cheese are great but it’s kinda a transportation device.

The cheese raises my glucose but not a spike. The meat I read labels to know the sugar, molasses honey or any other sugar. Overall I really think for me is a go. Thank your honest review.
