What have we learned so far this playoffs other then Colorado (which was expected) and Pittsburgh (and no one expected this). Teams as a whole just don't seem to have the "killer instinct" to go up 3 games to 1. GREAT for the teams Fans and NHL (all that extra revenue).

Panthers gutted it out today but the series is still tied 2-2. Honestly i have no clue how this will shake out but the Caps have made the Panthers look quite ordinary in the series so far

@@etahhcumosevahi Panthers are a lot better than they've looked this series. If they find their confidence and stop messing with their lineup, they could overrun Caps. Caps on the other hand are playing way better than expected.
@@etahhcumosevahi Cats have the president's trophy, Caps are a wild card team and have 22 points less in the regular season. Cats are a lot better than the caps have made them look the entire series, and anything can still happen between the teams even with this cats comeback
@@etahhcumosevahi the reason is that the Panthers are a better team. When the better team is playing badly then the series becomes quite even. Of course the Caps are a better playoff team since they know how to play in the playoffs but when you look at the lineup the series should be a Cats sweep. The Caps have made the Panthers look bad and that's to their credit.
I can't believe that hit on Oshie wasn't a penalty. Neither a Caps or Panthers fan, just here for the games... But damn, that looked like principle contact to the head.

2) Capitals are playing excellent penalty kill by collapsing inside when Panthers put a shot through and blocking passing lanes
3) Panthers are playing play-off hockey. I am happy they do have that gear.

That was a head hit on Bennett that led to the 2nd Caps goal. Watching it in slow motion (4:53), you can see that the principal point of contact is the head. It jerks back before body contact. The only reason the ref didn't call it is because he didn't see it, as Oshie himself was blocking his view. I have no faith in the league to review this play...what are they gonna do? They can't take away the goal, and to acknowledge that a missed penalty resulted in a go-ahead goal in a playoff game (a goal that was only nullified with a 6-skater effort in the last 3 minutes of the game, to take things to OT) would make them look pretty bad...but there really should be a short suspension associated with this play, if they were truly interested in enforcing their own rules.
Welcome to playoffs. It's a whole different kind of action. There was a lot of sloe footing/trips and some ruff stuff on goal tenders too. That's playoffs.

Wow! Watched in slow too! Before I came to comments. Didn't get passed you either. I commented about it on another highlights channel. A clear b line right for the head, barely touched any other part of his body initially! And a good ole follow through to the nogin! No one talkin bout it! Lineman who had a front row view, should have signaled to ref hit the whistle, and could have stopped it before the center line, and huddled and got it right. A penalty on Oshite. Gonna look bad on the league when the Cat's demand a review, and they are faced to see what we saw. Blatant clearly seen head hunt uncalled that lead to an overtime that shouldn't have been! Oh my! What shall they do? One of their princes. Decisions? Didn't watch the game and I even commented Bennet will proly miss the rest of the series cause of protocol, but I see he didn't flinch.

Cardiac Cats there. The Caps had numerous chances to take a 2 goal lead in the 3rd, you gotta score there in the breakaway. Then that empty net miss that was so close and series is now best of 3. Game of inches and missed opportunities.

Kenny Alberts is a fkn curse to Caps playoff Games, it always feels like they'll lose when he commentates Caps playoff games.

We got greedy at the end and that icing cost us. Should have just clear the zone and chip it out. Hopefully we get a chance to learn from our mistake and do better as a team next time around.

What is with defending players PUSHING opponents to their teams crease and to their goaltender? I don't get it. Goaltender could get hurt and you can see how easily it leads to goal like in OT. Even tho this time it's holding the player so he can't leave the crease on time. You need to get them out of the front of the goal, NOT into it.
It worked for the Pens in Game 1. They stole a game by pushing an opponent into the goalie. It led to an exhausting triple OT that burned out the Rangers more than the Pens and probably changed the outcome of the series. The officiating, in general, has been so bad and inconsistent that one wonders whether they're betting. Usually, I assume it's just incompetence, but it's been glaringly one-sided in some games.

Called it on Locked On Panthers, concentrate on defense, forget offense. 1 goal games, minimize Weegar, put Verhaeghe in the power plays. Bruno hasn't put Verhaeghe on the top power play unit but they did enough. Don't mess around with the Caps, they'll make you pay. That was a high hit on Bennett, dude was bleeding from the elbow hit.
