- This recipe for ‘wrinkled’ potatoes with two sauces (mojos) is from the Canary Islands, where my Mum and auntie lived for a good 10 years when they were children. Because of this, dishes from the Canary Islands pop up every now and then in my family, particularly at my auntie’s house.

Lovely recipe 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
Amazing recipe! I am a big fan of your books and recipes. Greetings from Georgia USA.
I lived in Gran Canaria for 6 years...definitely my favourite tapa, my friend’s mom adds a bit of tomato and red pepper to the mojo picón and it’s a great taste..a bit thicker - viva Canarias y las papitas arrugadas con mojo! 🇮🇨
Reminds me of my time living on Fuerteventura. Miss IT 🥺
I also lived in Fuerteventura! Mojo sauce was my absolute favourite dish 😁
I haven't thought about using toasted bread for sauce yet - thanks for this idea!
While in Tenerife, just a week ago, these were my favourite things to eat at every meal! Thank you for making it simple to understand! It’s Valentine’s Day today, so I’m cooking him Canadian potatoes, with chicken in white wine sauce. Yummy xx
Thank you for your compliment. I hope my recipe has been able to help you in your cooking.

Perfectly demonstrated ty for this!
This is so unique! Will have to try it soon
Tried these for the first time in Tenerife a few years ago, absolutely delicious
My parents are holydaing there as we speak. Lucky them!
I had them for the first time way back in 2005 when I visited Cran Canaria w/ my younger brother and mum and dad. I immediately LOVED them! I made a Portuguese version of the potatoes today w/ a Chanfana goat stew and they were just amazing! Next time I am really giving the mojos a try since I want to share these amazing flavour memories w/ my husband - he is a huge fan of chillies and coriander so I’m sure he’ll love the dipping sauces to go w/ the potatoes 😍🤭🤤
Enjoy them when you do! They are so versatile that accompany many flavours very well. Best
Me encanta Omar :)
Thanks! Made this tonight along with other goodies. I have a lovely garlic taste in my mouth now lol. Good thing I don't have a girlfriend or I might offen her😂
El mojo rojo lleva pimiento rojo tambien!
Traditionally you are supposed to use Papa Negra which can be expensive but worth it.
I do them here in the UK as well, exactly the same way. :D The main problem is that in Canary we use papa negra, which is smaller, with black skin, and kind of a more waxy flavour. Haven't seen that variety here :/
I haven't seen it here neither. Not even in the Iberian peninsula, it's a very local potato that doesn't get exported. Having said that I have seen similar ones from Peru so keep your eyes peel.
¡Excelente! ¿Porque tienes un acento irlandés? Yo prefiero con más chilis 🤩
With apple vinegar and detergent you can clean the pans. Thanks
I owe it to the pan, you are right!
