I’m a desk adjuster. I handle commercial liability claims. I was also a personal auto/property desk adjuster prior to this. Getting licensed will give you endless opportunities. You can NOT go wrong choosing this career path. Especially if you aren’t degreed. Becoming licensed gives you the power to either work from home/ a desk/ in the field/ or go into business for yourself. With insurance being a requirement for nearly everything we see, why wouldn’t someone pursue a career in it? It is here to stay!

@@jamaleurings8689 I will answer for Stefan, I did the same thing 15 years ago. I was in the trucking industry for 12 years, I had three trucks of my own and 9 trucks leased to my company. The stress levels are so high in this industry for owner/operators and small trucking companies that unless you have a lot of support it will quickly burn you out.... I lasted just over a decade because I was younger and much more energetic... I did it all by myself with a few employees at home base. The money is great, but dealing with drivers, contractors, brokers, shippers, and receivers becomes so overwhelming at times that eventually you decide to step down, slow down, and reset your life.... Im just guessing, but from my experience and the experience of the other trucking companies I've known in the past, this is what Mr. Stefan is doing. He's ready for a new start, at his own pace.... I too celebrated when the last truck was sold off my yard. Good Luck Stefan! I hope you find less headaches and more money!

It was all reading. I would recommend checking that before you buy a course, if you have a preference. It took me just under 4 weeks. I took the test and passed the first time. The problem I noticed was that it was a virtual class. No live teacher. When you have to ask a question, you have to e-mail someone and wait. I think if I did it again, I'd carve out the 4 days and do it live in a class.

I got a degree in college that I don’t want to use, so this might be a good next step for me.
I have a few questions if you don’t mind: I live in PA and I am considering getting a license to have an edge on other applicants and to just learn more about the job/industry. If so, I’d probably go with the FL license. Is this a good idea? Also, as a claims adjuster trainee, is there a lot of sales/negotiating involved? That is certainly not one of my strengths, and I’m better suited for the positions that require organizational/high attention to detail skills
Thanks so much for the video! I learned a lot

I enjoy what I do, but after 24 years in the Army, I miss traveling and change. I am strongly considering this. What do you feel about the Veteran Adjusting School Program in Sedona, AZ? I would have to get my all line adjuster license first (looking at October)

I have worked in liability claims/commercial/cargo - freight/bodily injury/products liability/general liability for 38+ years. Because I do not have a college degree, I could was never promoted; however, they have placed college degreed people with me for training, then those were promoted up in the company. I have been told many times that If I interviewed for a position, and someone else interviewed, and they have a college degree, the tie breaker would be the "college" degree, whether or not they had experience or not.

My female friend is a late twenties single mom of an elementary school aged child and is an IA. She took the TX course, got her emergency license here in LA because the recent hurricane and is making amazing money right now. She drops her kid off around 7:45 and gets him by 2:30. Sometimes if she’s running an hour late I’ll go pick him up from school but she’s usually getting him from me by 3:30. I had him today and after she picked him up she went to the next town over to do another roof.
