To me, the most fascinating character in the third season is Princess Alice, Philip's mother. I read up on her and watched a documentary about her life, which was at once bizarre, tragic and heroic.
@Capitalist Pig but this season ended with the jubilee right? and the lord mountbatten's assassination was later in 1979. Maybe could be the first chapter at season 4?
I agree.. I didn't know about her until this series unfortunately, but I did some research on her, and what a tragic figure who turned her life into a heroic novel.. Her story is fascinating indeed.
@Capitalist Pig Mountbatten was murdered in August 1979. Season 3 appears to end in the summer of 1977. Diana does not appear on the scene until later in 1977. She is just one character in a multitude of characters.
As an aside, to all intents and purposes Britain had been at war with Ireland since 1969. The 1970s were the bloodiest years and Ireland understandably distanced itself from the IRA although it took another 10+ years for the Good Friday agreement to be signed.
I ended up going to wikipedia a lot this season as well, it really hit me. Which is why I'm sad this video ended up being a spoiler for the season 4 I didn't know was happening instead of a discussion about these story points.
I discovered Princess Alice wore a purple outfit matching in cut Queen Mary's, not a nuns habit. So, that was disappointing. I do hope they don't just stuff Lord Mountbatten under a rug.
The two young actors who portrayed Prince Charles and Princess Anne where amazing... Not enough scenes with them !!
Vivian Martinez I agree! I’m sure they r back for season four tho. This season seemed more princess Margaret, season four I think will be the younger royals :)
Vivian Martinez agree! Wish the original Margaret had been kept. She looked like her
I couldn’t agree more they make the show they look so close to real Charles and Ann 🙌🏻
Vivian Martinez fabulous!
Princess Anne was mesmerizing. Definitely want her on more. Especially when she’s calling her father a reptile.
I thought the actor portraying Harold Wilson, Prime Minister was excellent. He really captured him. I'm an old lady and remember him 😊
Sally Lovejoy was he well liked? He seemed a bit mousey which I found very interesting.
TheSilverGarnet I think he was. I was only a child when he was PM, but he didn't mind laughing at himself.
The actor playing Harold Wilson was a terrifying vampire in Being Human. There was one episode, I literally could not move, I was so scared. He is a brilliant actor
Neat! Great name btw :)
Dionne White I
Josh O'Connor who plays prince charles steals this Season Wow! can't wait for next season 🙌
2020 XD ➊ Also stole my heart ❤️
His EARS do most of the stealing :) lol - the ears are just like real-life prince charles'
Oh he’s awful
@@felixfelicius7330 are you joking? he destroyed his scenes, don't hate good acting 😡
@@decimanightelf4135 I don't think the story will be going that far.
I loveee the actress who plays Anne! She’s so great.
She Reaaaally looks like Anne and nails that stiff upper lip manner of speaking.
Way too pretty to play horse face Anne.
Michael Muldowney Camilla looks more like a horse than Anne.
Her name is Erin Doherty
Lotte Lot Anne drove and pushed Charles under the bus at the same time. That is some serious shade. Mummy and daddy asked, she answered.
I would love a movie or mini series about Princess Alice.
Princess Alice is so interesting I would love to see something about her
I saw a documentary on her and it was fascinating
I loved her scene with her brother it was so genuine and human. The actor who plays her brother is so unbelievably brilliant
There are a few. One of the best is on CZcams, seems almost like it was in black and white.
There's a really good documentary about her life on CZcams. She was truly amazing in my opinion.
This season made me actually feel sorry for Charles.
I felt sorry for Charles back in the late 1970s, and when he married Diana it seemed so obvious to me that it was an arranged marriage and they had nothing in common.
me too! changed my whole opinion on him.
I have always felt sorry for him, his father was cruel to him and his mother only saw him as the next person on the throne. I am happy about his good marriage to Camilla and his strong character and love for nature and the environment.
Msarie 05 I felt sorry for him in the last season. Getting bullied when you’re a child is horrendous for anyone ☹️
I've always felt badly for him! What a messed up family! So glad George Washington turned down a crown!
This season was everything!! Top notch acting from everyone! As an American I was definitely sobered by the Aberfan tragedy
I was crying the whole episode
@@amandasheldon5556 I couldn't cry through it. Idk why. Honestly! The ending also feels very exaggerated. However, an impactful and well-acted episode. Definitely one of my favorite episodes this season.
I hear you I just miss the Old actors and actresses
@@Mrchair-bk5ns Is that supposed to be a joke. Don't waste my time if don't understand my comment.
I had to turn it off... I prepared myself to finish the episode next day... I love near by and as a mum... I couldn’t :(
Can’t wait for Princess Diana
Right? I was hoping they'd give like a sneak peak or something but when Camilla popped up I went crazy! I'm gonna act a fool when season 4 comes out! 😅👀
That part will be hard for her sons IMO
The actress looks alike with Princess Diana too!!
And x-files actress as Margaret Thatcher
@@skinni_the_P00hBear Camilla was on the scene long before Diana came along
My fav episode so far was the one about Phillips mom I cried like a baby at the end
Yes it’s amazing it’s episode 4!!! A must watch
Me too. They did a disservice to her in the first two seasons. She was a heroine of the Holocaust.
I know they “jazzed” the character up a bit for the show, but it made me research the real princess alice and my god!! What a life
I liked that one as well! I wish knew more about her.
@@glarabie5745 The fact that three of her daughters married Nazi sympathisers makes it even more amazing.
They need a special extra show about Prince Philips mother.. what a great lady..
She wasn't exactly a great lady in real life, she was completely bonkers.
No
Princess Alice was a truly amazing woman. RIp dear lady.
Agreed !! she had emotional difficulties but still managed to care for other. She was the wonderful top story in the newspaper that scene was amazing...
@@@TheCaptainKim - Sigmund Freud evaluated her. If you know anything about Freud, you will know that he was the one who was BONKERS. Freud and his psychological beliefs have destroyed a lot of people. Still, have some compassion; this poor woman suffered.
The episode with the astronautes visiting the queen was the best. Great acting by Philip! That last monologue he gave in front of those priests was some of the best acting i’ve ever seen.
The actors name is Tobias
not Phillip. Also its astronauts NOT astronautes.

every episode was a masterpiece, cannot truly determine which is my favourite.
No mention of Aberfan? That episode was THE BEST one of season 3!
Pat Pierce 2nd best
He mentions it briefly at 2:43.
Unless you knew someone who actually helped dig out the bodies of children! - Brilliant but Heartbreaking! - My fav episode was Margaretology!
It was horrifying brilliant ......and even more tragic when you hear where the relief money went...
Pat Pierce I agree, I also loved princess Alices episode but Aberfan was and excellent episode.
Margaretology and Tywysog Cymru were my favorite episodes!
Me too! They are like character studies for Princess Margaret and Charles respectively. Also, Olding is another favorite of mine. The soundtrack is perfect and is a great opening for the season.
Honorable mention though Moondust and Tobias Menzies performance was Prince Philip which outshines Matt Smith's portrayal.
Mr. chair sure but my god that episode was a slog

Can I confess something here? I was so moved by the actor playing older Philip s story about losing faith and needing help in that department, it moved me to seek help with my own faith issues

understandable. that was a very touching episode.
Ugh, same. It resonated so deeply with me.
God bless you and I will say a prayer for you.
Take care.
Sounds like you’re a few steps ahead of me. I’m on the verge of precontemplation to contemplation with regard to faith. But I’m slap bang in my mid forties now
Loved the series, never cared for Prince Charles but made me see him in a whole different light. Great series.
They’re also going to do the death of Earl Mountbatten which I think could really be a powerful episode.
Shot in the bathroom with a crossbow by his grand nephew.
I thought they might have ended season 3 with it...might start off with that (or maybe thatcher then the Assassination)
@@heyitzLou lol...
The way he died, horrible
More like on his yacht by Ireland and IRA bombed it
1:35 the best part of the whole video. Long live Harry Potter
the best episode for me as an english person was charles in wales, it was a lot more interesting than anything else
I really hope Season 4 will touch on Princess Anne's marriage and the kidnapping plot. I feel they should have introduced Mark Philips in season 3 at the very least
Yankee Countess they’ve already passed that point chronologically. But then I guess they could do both anyway. I just read Lacey’s Companion Volume 1 and 2 and I hadn’t realized how many things in season 1 and 2 occurred out of order.
@@suekelley2109 So true! Anne married the same year Edward died! It was the society wedding of the 70s!
Of course. That was significant
I've been waiting for her husband too. Especially after episodes with Camila.
I agree- they just glanced over Anne’s really depth. Her dedication to sport, training for the Olympics, marrying Mark Phillips and having the Queen’s first grandchild.
The biggest missed opportunity was capturing the fabulous Queen mother...and her butler (and great dancing partner) 'backstairs Billy.' She loved life, was immensely amusing and entertaining and kept a supporting high profile and influential role in the royal family. In this series she is portrayed as long faced and critical? But she was a great character who kept smiling through adversity and prince Charles absolutely adored her
Can I just say the scene where Princess Anne is driving and singing along to Starman made me giggle like mad.
The two Welsh episodes were by far my favourite from this cast.
i didn’t think i would be interested in phillip this season since it wasn’t matt smith, but i was really drawn to how tobias portrayed him this series. i also loved charles, and i was surprisingly interested by princess anne. i hope she has more screen time next season. i wasn’t as drawn to margaret, but her storyline was somehow interesting.
Josh does so well here. Even now I find it hard to like Charles, but his portrayal at least helped me understand him a bit more.
Queen Mum is a better likeness in this season IMO.
She is dreadful. Nothing like the Queen Mother.
@@pamkerr6269 Well the first one looked nothing like her.
@@pamkerr6269 The Queen Mom had an image of a saintly, slightly dotty woman, but she was a drunk and a dragon lady, apparently. Definitely not anyone to mess with. She fucked over anyone who got in her path... the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson, Prince Phillip, Charles, Margaret, you name it. 'The Crown' was more important to her than her family's personal happiness.
@@graphiquejack I take it you are not fond of the Queen Mother?

It was a good season but they ignored the Rhodesia question and the attempted kidnapping of Princess Anne. Sad.
Exactly, I thought it was going to happen when they showed Anne singing in the car, even though she was alone, and I knew that there was somebody else wih her in the car in 1974.
The kidnapping hadn’t happened yet in the season 3 timeline. Maybe it will be shown in season 4.
@@Coconut687 wasn't the kidnapping attempt in 1974? S3 ends in 1977...
Christian Westling And no mention yet of The Troubles. Possibly saving it until they cover hunger strikers in Season Five? The English are going to be so triggered when that truthbomb airs.
Mark Lawton They have to face it, as Lord Mountbatten has been such a big character through the seasons, and the IRA assassinated him in 1979.
Olivia Colman honored the interpretation of Queen Elizabeth I I.
Each chapters are an independent movie
The Chapters 3 and 4 are my favorite.
Chapter 3 takes tears from you and chapter 4 how amazing is the actress who takes the rol of Alice of
Battenberg , mother of Prince Phillips.
Season. 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Luis Federico Sala I loved they included Princess Alice, and the scene between her and Lord Mountbatten was so good, very banter-y, as most sibling conversations are.
Season 3, APPLAUSE APPLAUSE! Excellent acting! The Prince Charles story as well as the coal mining tradegy episodes truly tugged at my heart strings!!
Fantastic show, so well written, the acting is beyond superb, the scene between the Queen and Princess Margaret was so good, it brought me to tears so lovely and down to earth. Xx
Aberfan and Prince Philip's mom episodes were the best ones hands down
My favourite episode was Moondust! I think you really have to understand that this episode is about being human! It might not be historically accurate and if you understand it, you'll see that is entirely about Philip (the Queen if more something of a sidekick here) and not about the moon landing. It could have been any other historical milestone. It moved me so deeply since Philip believes that these astronauts are "it", great inspiring humans. When in fact, they were dull, not interested in being famous ambassadors and having the most trivial thoughts whilst being up their in space and whilst stepping on the moon. As Elizabeth explains, they were perfect for their job because they are not very emotional and perfectly calm for crisis situations. I think it affects all of us that we have the illusion that some of our idols are perfect human beings. I think it's also called the "halo effect". Just because someone is indeed a fantastic lawyer that doesn't mean that he is a compassionate, empathic or otherwise great human being, too. He could be the biggest selfish asshole out there, but some people would still idolize him because he is so great at that one thing and assume that he is a great person one has to look up to.
So overall I found this episode very humbling and sort of honest because it shows what is happening behind a facade. Even if Philip might have never felt that. Great message, though. It could also mean that all accomplishments will somewhen just be dust and are therefore, temporary.
@Elisabeth Rickert - I so agree with your last sentence in your first paragraph. Take for example, today's athletes. Just because someone is a good athlete, people think they are also good human beings.
I watched the whole season in 3 days. Wow. Wow! My favorite episode was the beginning of Charles' and Camilla's affair and how Josh played a timid, heartbroken prince. HOWEVER, I remind myself that Charles was never that naïve and generous in real life. They all knew very well they were using Diana as a scapegoat (waiting anxiously for the 4th season). Smart writer, he blamed the Queen Mother and Lord Mountbatten for splitting Charles and Camilla and showed an Elizabeth concerned with his son's happiness.
Remember there are serious historical inaccuracies this season. They are more than the 1st and 2nd season combined. Honestly, they did ruin the fun of watching the crown. However, it is dramatization and it was good.
Yes it’s clearly written by someone who is biased towards the Queen and Charles. Charles actually had/has an enormous temper which the show conveniently left out. I read somewhere that he once grabbed his butler by the neck in rage when his cufflink went down the sink drain.
@@sen.m7832 Supposed rumors from within the Palace could be fabrications. If it was outside, then I would consider. Actually, with regards to bias towards the Queen. A royal biographer has said that this season is hiding anti monarchist sentiment. I don't think that there is a legit bias towards the Queen and Charles with their interpretation. Remember, episode six's ending. The Queen was cruel as hell. In a way that we haven't seen in the show. This show, btw, was supposed to be looking about Queen Elizabeth looking in. I read an audience review on rotten tomatoes that hit a cord with me. It was saying that "This season is heavy and depressing. Seasons 1 and 2 were more entertaining.". I have to admit that the heavy and depressing is very true because of that other side in their characters. The last four episodes for me were difficult to take in. It showed a dark side to them that I just couldn't handle. I have mixed feelings about some of the parts and I am falling for introspection about what was presented. Sorry for the long reply. It's just a show that I have watched fully very recently. So, I am taking the energy to vent it all out.
Charles had girlfriends in Australia when he went as an exchange student. One of them became his good friend & rumoured lover the future lady Tyrone. So he wasn't really that bumbling & virginal...
That tear drop was phenomenal
This is one of my favorite shows. The Crown. I love how they showed the Queen went to see the Duke of Windsor at his ending. Did not hold a grudge. Season 3 was awesome.
Hopefully the will cover the Falklands War during Thatcher’s reign
They will. The episodes build up on each other. Remember, Lord Mountbatten was fired as Chief of the Defence Staff because he refused to do defence cuts as per the Harold Wilson budget cuts. He refused because he believed that the enemies of the United Kingdom were increasing their spending. You would have noticed this. If you have been listening closely, you'll know. Like the mention of the Profumo scandal at the end of episode one or the Tommy
Lascelles conversation with Prince Philip being revealed after the episode Dear Mrs. Kennedy from season 2. Stuff like that.
Oh my....the great Falklands War. You know...the one where Prince Andrew developed the inability to sweat. 😉
Jean Lankton lol that’s right! But apparently he can now again! Lol

What a season, its getting better and better! I really loved the episode when The Queen visits her uncle. Loved the fact that they played the theme (Duck shoot) it was the same theme they put when the King died in season one.
They have been filming locally in the North of Scotland for scenes doubling as the Falklands in Season 4.
What the hell did all these men see in Camilla
the village bicycle -- everyone's had a ride on it
They were a tight, snobby circle of friends. So eventually they all ended up with each other.
i thought the actress who played her was quite pretty though tbh
@@antitheticaldreamgirl it's funny how they've cast someone as Camilla who is much more attractive, but the actors portraying Lord Snowdon and Prince Philip are not nearly as handsome as the real men were.
I agree, I've seen photos of the young Camilla- she was worse looking than Fergie, who got a lot of stick in the 80s and 90s for being too fat and trashy. They needed a more photogenic Princess for the Prince of Wales, especially as they wanted everyone in the world to watch the wedding on TV.
Josh Connor is amazing as Prince Charles it really feels like your getting to know him and it makes you feel for him.. I love Olivia Coleman as the Queen she played this part so well! This season might be my favorite so far!
Did anyone notice that there are a lot of brown eyes that should blue? The queen, Prince Phillip, Princess Margaret, Prince Charles. Haven't they heard of colored contacts??
I wonder the same thing since the first episode of season 3, I thought
They had blue eyes and now all brow 🤷🏽♀️
Cheryl Christian They tried contacts, but it irritated the actors, so they let them stay natural.
I Agree. Princess Margaret's eyes were so beautiful. Like Liz Taylor's
That shouldn't matter one bit
I read that the director felt that giving Olivia contacts was shielding her acting (in addition to being an irritation to her) and nixed the idea. He said he thought people would forget about it as the series continued.
I have to say that josh o’conner is my favorite actor from this cast and I will tell you why. I don’t like Charles much, I understand he had a rough childhood because of the Expectation of him becoming king and the pressure this parents (particularly his father) laid on him and he was a rather sensitive child, but the way josh plays him, you see his Vulnerability and are able to relate to him. He does a wonder job plus he’s much better looking than Charles (Hollywood casting right there)
The casting in season 3 was pitch perfect.
She is Queen of Britain not just England. England is not Britain you're forgetting the other countries.
emma wyatt exactly especially when there was a whole episode on Aberfan in Wales, so disrespectful!
@@theeseanadair I know. it's sad.
She’s the queen of the Uk and Commonwealth
@Sean Gallacher Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is a decedent of James VI of Scotland (who, upon the death of Elizabeth I, became King of both England and Scotland in 1603 in what is known as the Union of the Crowns). Her Majesty's Official title is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland. She is also the Queen of 15 other nations; including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Sorry I'm American, I don't know anything, I should leave.
She was supposed to be in her 30s during the start of the season but they have her looking middle age
She looked middle aged in her 30's!
The real queen also suddenly looked old when she was in her 30s. The stress of her 4th childbirth and civil unrest got her old.
Last episode was 25th jubilee... making her 50..? The first episode was set 1964... sooo she’s approaching 40 episode 1.
Her life as u seen hasn’t been stress free lol
Queen Elizabeth was 38 years old in 1964
She was born in 1926 which would make her 38 at the beginning. She's always looked older than her years and in those days women will seem older than a late 30's woman would look today.
Olivia Colman making fart noises at the Oscars is my spirit animal
Bachelor Fantake she’s hilarious 😂

This narrator is really good - he reads Wikipedia really well. I used to read Wikipedia the whole time - but now I’m going to subscribe here instead. Shame he doesn’t know the difference between persecution and prosecution.
Wow you should really support other channels instead of convicting them
Loved the whole season! Prince Charles' casting is perfect!
He is much more sympathetic than the real Prince Charles.
Besides the first episode, the season was great. The real MVP is Erin Doherty as Anne. Snarky but cheeky. I also enjoyed Josh O’Connor’s Charles, as well as Colman, Menzies, and HBC’s performances as Elizabeth, Philip, and Margret respectably.
What I think will happen occur in season 4 besides Diana and Thatcher:
Lord Mountbatten’s assassination (I think that will be the cold open of episode 1), the Falklands War, and Pam Am 103.
There will be two big weddings - Charles and Diana and also Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. I wonder if they will feature Margaret Thatcher and the Poll Tax Riots that took place across the country and forced parliament to repeal the tax..
“But this was decades before GOT ever aired so Charles wasn’t aware that you never trust Tywin Lannister” xD
Anthony Blunt was given immunity because he blackmailed Prince Phillip with photographs he had from the Profumo Affair.
Assumpta Padden I loved how they chose the same actor who played Blunt in Cambridge Spies.
Wasmt sure how I would like season 3 with such a cast change but I was blown away...
Aberfan was the best episode of the season.
Thanks! Loved watching this and looking forward to season 4♥️
The Queen has lovely eyes, very blue. As did the Queen Mother. It’s a small detail, but it just kinda distracts me.
No mention of assassination of Lord Mountbatten by the IRA in 1979? That for sure is going to be the best episode of season 4
My favorite was Bubbikins. And the end of The Coup.
People discount Philip but he was royal in his own right. His mother was a great granddaughter to Victoria herself. The granddaughter of Princess Vicky who you see in PBS show Victoria - the oldest child.
Philips family lost their prominence but it could have easily happened to the British sovereigns as seasons 1 & 2 hint.
So it must have been excruciating for Philip as we saw it was excruciating for Elizabeth’s mother to now be puppets at the whim of the government.
Philip's mother, Princess Andrew, was granddaughter to Queen Victoria's 2nd daughter, Princess Alice (for whom she was presumably named) rather than Princess Vicky.
Great analysis. Thank you.
Liked & Subbed. TY. Grand ol job matey.
I agree the best episode of series was #7 Moondust. Tobias did a great job, great writing for this episode. The next best was the Queen and Margaret sharing heartbreak in the last episode. Overall it was very well done series and I will look forward to the next. I wonder how close to the real people this material really does touch.
Yup loved it. Did a weekend binge.
Amazing actors and another incredible season
I am hooked! I love this series!
Season 4 is not to be missed 🔥🔥🔥
Coleman is a very good actress, but she does not nail the role of the queen, she would have been better as queen mum
The big surprise for me was Geraldine Chaplin as Wallis, she was right on, captured her perfectly
Bonham Carter is a hit & miss and Margret
Overall I thought last seasons cast was better
Colman
Geraldine Chaplin is 🔥🔥🔥 - Amazing actress
So the timeline was 1964 to 1977 (HM silver jubilee) However they completely airbrushed the marriage of princess Anne to Capt. Mark Phillips in 1973 and also the attempted kidnapping of her (Anne) in 1974, of which four men (two police officers) were shot and wounded defending her. Events I would have thought quite important and worthy of telling.
Great Job!
ABERFAN is the most.
Did anyone else notice that Tobias Menzies' voice is IDENTICAL to that of the real Prince Charles? I couldn't brush that off my mind. I know he's actually playing his father, but still...amazing
I thought at one point he looked a lot like William when he smiles.
@@thepochade5992 also true!
A great informative show I really enjoy watching it.
I loved every single episode, buuuut... kudos to the brilliant mind who wrote the scenario for the episode focused on Prince Philip and for the actor himself, the midlife crisis and fascination with the Moon Landing was the most relatable and believable of all histories described in all these fantastic Season 3 episodes.
Ending expained? This vid should be called Season 3 recap.
I guess we won’t get the attempted kidnap of Princess Anne, if series 3 ended in 1979. I was hoping we would get to see that.
fong03 season 3 ended in 77 silver jubilee year
fong03 Wait-someone attempted to kidnap her?!
Or her wedding...
fong03 I just read on it, and the article said that it fit the time frame of the season but they skipped over it? I don't know for sure I'll have to do some more reading, but I kind of wanna see it make it to the show. The interviews where Anna talks about it are kinda interesting. She's a badass 🤘👏
jamie lucska Thank you. Sad we will not get to see those Anne moments.
I believe they must touch on “the troubles” and the murder of Mountbatten (and the impact of the loss of that father figure to Charles)
Love this❤️❤️
Does anybody else absolutely despise the Queen Mother as depicted in The Crown besides me? It really feels like the writers and show runners are using her as the primary antagonist of the series. The funny thing is they might not be wrong. I went looking for information about her after watching season 3 and found a fascinating article written a decade ago in 2009 (years before The Crown was conceived). The writer of the article in question depicted her as being racist, classist, venal and vindictive. She certainly blamed Edward VIII for the death of her husband George VI and claimed to have never wanted to be Queen though she certainly seemed to relish the role. She was born a commoner but was apparently quite hostile towards the idea of other commoners (especially women it seemed) marrying into the royal family. It is quite clear now that Prince Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla Shand when they first met but was prevented from doing so by the traditionalist of the family and it is quite easy to believe the Queen Mother played a part in that. Truth or fiction, fact or exaggeration The Crown certainly makes her appear highly unlikable IMO.
Ashleigh Elizabeth surprising the Queen Mother is one of the popular royal figures after the Queen, especially that Charles and Andrew were getting unpopular. She was actually born as an aristocrat (her father was an Earl and she was titled as a Lady, similar to Diana). Back in season 2 she was worried about the growing decline of deference, as shown in the final scenes of Episode 5 (Marionettes). But you’re also correct that she’s also a hypocrite (and most of the royals are also like that) especially on her treatment of Margaret and blatantly preferring Tony over her own daughter as seen in season 3 finale.
Actully there is a video on CZcams about her titled I'm not as nice as people think I am.
I'm excited for season 4
I loved this season and the actors! Well done.
Bubbikins was my absolute favorite episode
"but this was decades before game of thrones ever aired so Charles wasn't aware that never trust Tywin Lannister"
The Duke was portrayed with some unexpected depth. His developing relationship with the priest, and especially his extreme disappointment with the astronauts' lack of depth regarding the meaning of their mission, really added to the character, whether or not they are precise. Some wonderful points were made (no idea if they are true, but they fit the image) and the actor gave a fine portrayal. Amusing how he ended up confiding in the priests he had disparaged. I thought omitting him from this review was a mistake - a glaring omission in my opinion. ( P S I also saw developing wisdom in the Queen when she consoled the Duke by talking about them having the right qualifications for the job of astronaut allowing them to be successful. Wonder if the writers surmised that or if it was reported.)
Why does the Queen always look like she’s angry? The real Queen is said to be a fun person and there are more pictures of her smiling than not.
Why does this need to be "explained"? It was pretty straightforward, just sayin..
And you can google all the real life stuff anyway. Pointless video was pointless.
CadaverJunky agreed
Arya1999: It wasn’t pointless as a recap of season three before watching season four or as a trailer for season three for people who haven’t seen it. Perfect in that regard. The video was just not titled correctly.

I binge watched everything available on this series its bloody exquisite 👌
Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher - brilliant!!
I enjoyed it but I’m surprised they never covered Princess Annes marriage to Captain Mark Philips in ‘73. That’s a major part of the Royals life in the 70s
makes a plea to Tywin Lanni..I mean Lord Mountbatten 😂😂😂 all jokes aside, Netflix is knocking this one out of the park. It’s brilliant, with equally brilliant actors! Sometimes it’s hard to get past the brown eyes though.
I love how the narrator references the other roles the cast has played. When I watched season 3 of the Crown I was so happy to see several familiar faces, especially Tywin Lannister and Bellatrix Lestrange.
This is a brilliant program, a must watch.
who knew Prince Phillips mummy called him bubbikins!!
I wish in my day we were taught the difference between England. Britain. And the United Kingdom. I just figured it out. And I am OLD
don't forget the British Isles.....
I also wonder if people in the US are aware of the native languages in Britain - English, Welsh and Gaelic (Scottish Gaelic being different from Irish Gaelic).
Loved it!! 5 ⭐️
Throughout Season Three, I thought I was glimpsing an image Carol Burnett as QE II. Burnett used to spoof QE II occasionally on her comedy hour years ago.
Tywin Lannister and Edmure Tully reincarnated
I looked up the Crown IMDB pages and no mention is made of Josh O'connor as Charles ? Weird ? Even the episode where he takes up most of the episode he is unknown ! He is fantastic !
Josh was in the PBS series THE DURELLS OF CORFU as the oldest son. I found his character kind of annoying, though I loved the show. I really like him as Prince Charles.
@@pdougherty236 You mean the ITV series the Durrells, a British tv show.
Can't wait for season 4!
You forgot the Princess Anne kidnap attempt, which prompted higher security
