-----Who is Magical Katrina?-----
Katrina Kroetch has professionally performed her unique blend of playful and whimsical magic worldwide in France, Germany, Africa, India, Mexico, and America. She’s volunteered and been an advocate for Magicians Without Borders and the non profit Emergency Circus. She has been a cast member of the international touring show Champions of Magic and a performer on numerous network television shows including Masters of Illusion and Penn and Teller: Fool Us .
Magical Katrina has lectured for the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians and the world’s largest online magic retailer: Penguin Magic. She’s also performed magic for the Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood, California.
She is the winner of 5 different magic awards including winning first place at AbraCORNdabara’s virtual magic contest. She was awarded the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians Children’s Entertainer of the year. Despite our changing world she continues to dazzle audiences with her interactive virtual magic shows and live in person performances.
She has written for and been featured in a variety of magazines including The Linking Ring, Penguin Monthly and Vanish Magazine. Penn and Teller must make it so the artists get the rights to their clip, every single one of these is hosted on the individual magician's channel and it makes me so happy.
Their performances here are a lot like major resume pieces. Penn and Teller being performers themselves would appreciate being able to use high-profile performances like this to advertise themselves to clients.
I'm pretty sure it is more of a sharing thing. Obviously the show still has the rights to it, or else they would need to pay royalties if they re-aired any episode. But they clearly must allow the acts that come on the show to use their for their own purposes, which is great and a COMPLETE 180 from literally every single other competition show. You can barely even TALK about your America's Got Talent performance in any sort of detail on your own channel.
From what Penn has said on his PODCast, it is written into the agreement with each magician that they can post their own performance on _Fool Us_ on their own online media channels. This includes CZcams, Vine and TikTok.

When he threw the card with Teller's face I thought the trick was ruined
Quite a ballsy move by Penn, considering that he did not know whether she needed the complete collection of pictures to finish the trick.

I've seen many magicians on this show and her misdirection is totally on another level. i had to watch this three times before i could notice a magic trick was even being performed.

@@mysticmarkthemagician5852 she picked up all the cards but one of them she pushed into the blanket to rub off x or something revealing the tick, also think penn might have helped without knowing, it's good misdirection though.
I always remember Paul Daniels talking about how the most important thing of any trick, no matter how old, is to make it as personal as you can and I think you did a great job of nailing that.
I love how subtle their clues to the magician are. I totally missed the "rub off on us" line the first watch-through, and was confused why she agreed so readily.
I never miss their codes.

I love the simplicity of this trick. Penn’s “rubbed off” remark gave it away and I had to go back to find the moment when the black mark was erased. Teller thought fast and had good eyes!
Good catch. I'm a very amateur magician and I was having trouble figuring this out but once you pointed out "rubbed off" it became obvious.
Can also see how delicately she's handling the other cards. I wouldn't have got it without the hint. Fun trick.

the only predictive gamble she made in this was a beautiful detail in putting Teller's picture last and letting us see the x from the start on him. :) and I loved that.

One of the benefits of using large props is that you can do large gestures without looking weird

4:14 is where the "magic" happens. With the swipe of the picture over the cloth, the non permanent marker rubs off and the permanent marker is left behind. Watch closely how she carefully picks up the other cards before and after that occasion.
I would be so nervous that the guest would handle the cards in a way that it would rub off, but then I see that Penn never handles the cards. Clever. The rub off is easily done and looking at the X's they are all hiding a green check mark.

Yeah, I figured it out from his Penny's speech. Maybe they ought to stop doing the dialog at the end and just pass a note to the magician. I know that would be less smooth and entertaining, so they'd have to fill a little more time with some additional chatting (without the code)

I think she had a tiny clown in her hand, quickly writing on each card. It’s extremely difficult to palm an entire clown. So, well done!
Each picture had a green checkmark with a black X over it. When she pushed the winning picture over to Penn to reveal, she rubbed the X off on the tablecloth to reveal the checkmark, hence his “rub off on us” comment.

He maintained eye contact with the magician as she guided him through the trick rather than do what Teller was obviously doing which was focusing on the cards rather than her. He was being professional as a courtesy and acting as an audience member would although he should have been paying more attention to the trick rather than her presentation. You need to seriously calm down. Being angry for no discernible reason is not good for the blood pressure.
