Best comment ever. Lol
Food is the key to anyone’s heart lol
😂👍🏼♥️
That's friggin hilarious!
is she pregnant yet
I've had black beans hanging around for a long time. I cannot wait to do this as I've only really used canned black beans in the past. This looks simple and I like the soak overnight idea.
💗 Love making homemade beans!
I don't remove broken beans either. A funny story, a friend messed up and soaked her beans in a mason jar, well they swelled up so much she couldn't get the beans out of the jar... Lol
Wow! Lol!
Works wonderfuly in the instant pot for 25min after just rinsing (no need to soak), then using the saute function to boil off the excess water.
Thanks for the sauteed tip
Thank you I was making them for dinner tonight no time to soak!
The soaking isn't just for cook time, it helps get rid or reduce the part that makes people gassy.
The soaking makes the beans edible
@@connorleonard4047 The oligosaccharide in beans is what makes people gassy, the higher temperature from pressure cooking stabilizes the protein and makes it easier for people to digest. Pressure cooking allows a higher temperature before the boiling point is reached, which makes cooking faster.
I so will cook me black beans today is 1/30/23
I had never cooked black beans ever

Thank you ! My nonnie. Always made beans that way .. it’s a good food to store in tough unpredictable times .
I'm excited! I bought small black beans on a whim the other day. I was happy that 1/4 cup dry is 16g Net Carbs after the fiber, so I can fit it into my meals after all. I plan to try make this recipe this week, thank you!!
Easy and simple recipe. Thanks. 😋

Thanks so much. Every time I’ve tried to cook my black beans they never cook. Needed a pro to teach me the right way to do things. Now we can enjoy them! Looking forward to making so many delicious things.
Thank you for making this video. I looked for a regular black bean recipe, not Cuban Beans with all types of complicated ingredients. Thanks a million, can't wait to try this recipe, soaking my beans as I type my comment on your page.
Oh this will be amazing for prepping food thank you
I made this and it came out exceptional! Thank you!
Wow they look so good👍
Great idea
I don't want to make you self-conscious, but I have to say one of the reasons I appreciate your videos is your clear diction. I am never in doubt about what you say.
Have you tried brining the beans overnight? It helps keep the beans whole when they cook.
I need to look in to that. I have soaked overnight but have not tried bringing them. Thank you for the tip. 😊
Louis, how do you brine them?
@@aniyahdilovelilioness747 This is my method:
Rinse and pick over the dried beans, getting rid of any stones, dirt, or shriveled beans. For each pound of dried beans, make a brine by dissolving two tablespoons of salt (preferably not iodized, that is, kosher or sea salt) in two quarts of water. Put the beans in the brine and let them soak at least overnight, up to 24 hours. Rinse thoroughly before using in your recipe.
Hey love, ah I LOVE Black beans 😍thanks for sharing
Thank you for a wonderful idea you ve shared..🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing. I will be giving this a try today :)

Thank you for sharing, Mama!!!! My mom in law just visited from Houston up here to New England, and your teachings helped me SLAY. She still cooked circles around me when she was here, but I ain't complanin' in this yankee flavor wasteland lolol
You make such good food. I am always ready to watch you. Black beans are a favorite of mine.
Thank you so much for this video. I love black beans and for some reason, every time I would make it, it would come out tasting like nothing😫 but I will definitely try your recipe, which I make and never fails👍
Me encantan los frijoles negros. Wow, rico😋🌺❤️👍
Hi A.!!! I really like Black Beans. Only have made can ones. I will have to try these. They sure do look Yummy. Great recipe. Take care.
Thank you for your recipe I’m making my beans now !!
How were they?
Thank you for this. We had a little mom and pop's restaurant we would go to, but it unfortunately went out of business, and the way they made their black beans was the only time my husband actually liked black beans. Husband asked the cook/owner and he said he cooked them with garlic and onion until the garlic and onion disolved into then beans. Your recipe is just what I was looking for and I've been hoping to try this and maybe expand our dinners.
Amazing video, very helpful and easy to watch :)
I love these recipes and videos 💜💜💝💝
Best recipe ever. My son is particular with his food but he loves these beans. I don't add the spicy ingredients. I keep it simple with just Paprika, Cummin, Salt and Pepper. However I follow all your other steps in soaking it for 24 hours etc. Thank you for this video.
Ohh thank you for this!! I’m making black beans for the first time 😅
Thank you!
Thank you do much for putiing the ingredients in the descripción to be able To go back and replay
Love your videos
If you want to enhance the flavor of black beans add some fresh epazote almost at the end and you will see the difference on the flavor that is the way i grow up eating them..
Great 🙌🤗😎👍
i like this channel. you speak so well and clear my dear! Mil gracias!
YEEEESSSSS!!!!
Yess! papusas!!
Thankyou, I can never find the right recipe for black beans!
Brasilian black beans = EVOO + enough garlic to choke a horse + beans + ham bone/ fry bacon with garlic + chicken stock + bay leaves
That sounds great!
You’re a mind reader, I was thinking about asking you for your recipe 🥰
Love this! Come out great BUT after that first hour of cooking you should test them before you cook an additional hour. Mine only took about a hour and 20 minutes. Very good flavor with the seasoning. This is how I will be cooking mine forever. Thank you!
Saying it in Spanish makes it more delicious to people
Pressure cooker 3-5 minutes, sometimes as many as 8 for beans, with natural release (winds up being about 30ish). Use as much water as you want to end up with, but at least as much as will cover the beans.
I tried it two weeks ago. It was mouthwatering. Thank you.
oh woah i clicked on this thinking it was an older video-
guess i'm early for once, love your recipes!
Yes yes yes
Oye chica 😂 I saw the black beans and the laurel (bay) and thought of my Cuban grandma. Im not a big fan of black beans per say but every once in a while. A bowl with a fine dice of onions and a drizzle of olive oil or some spicy/ vinegar aji sauce from our Columbian counterparts. Really appreciate all the work you put into coming up with and preparing different dishes. Its not easy for me to stay excited about food. ✌💛
Made this today ! Thank you I’m 27 and never made beans before. Another off the check list 😂
Hey mama, I caught you early today 😁
you can soak with baking soda to break down some of the bean’s skin to reduce flatulence/gas!
I saw this whilst cooking Black Beans...
PS: This isn’t the first time this happens where I’m cooking or thinking of cooking something & you put up a video of the exact same thing
I love home made black beans.
Every burrito recipe says use black bean (canned) but never showed cook raw black bean.
Thank you for the great recipe!
I love homemade beans. I made black beans last not. I currently use my Instant Pot to make my beans now. Cuts the cooking time down. I couldn’t take the overflowing water anymore lol.
Sounds easy. My
Blk beans never
Get to the soft stage. I will leave
Out the salt until
The.
Thanks for the tips.
Bpj
Great recipe.. when you say store the beans.... Do you freeze part of those beans for later?
Or do they keep well in the refrigerator?
Thanks a lot!
Hi 🙂 ! I like the Spices that you used to season your Black Beans 😋😋. I will be trying your recipe. TYFS!!
P.S. How do you store your beans????
I wish I was taught how to make authentic Spanish food … because I could live on it everyday; nothing better in my opinion
& I gotta try this & see what other recipes u have
Do you have an old fashion recipe for paella
Got it
"Who clicked on the vid and came straight to comments?😂"
(OMG Mama thanks for commenting on my new video❤)
I did
Broken beans just add to the final product's creaminess imo.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I really enjoyed your video, but how do I know if my beans are done? What type of texture should I be looking for? Best wishes and stay safe!
Mary Lou Flores the texture of canned beans, those are cooked beans. Hope that helps👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I made some black beans today. Just plain, for use in salad. I love BEANS!
I made ur beans n they came out super delicious...by the way u also have gorgeous eyes..blessings n Success 2u
Love ya Mama, but I gotta go with the instant pot on this one.
I like Instant pot but I noticed a lot of my viewers don't have one or always ask for a stovetop version.😬 I still have 7 lbs of black beans. Don't be surprised to see another black beans recipe using the Instant pot soon. 😁😅
I hated the insta pot. I took mine back.
I have a manual pressure cooker from my brasilian MIL, IP prepared food tastes the same. Brasilians LOOOOOOOVE the IP, it’s funny to see the manual PC being used next to the IPs
Good video. Wash beans, yes. Soak, yes. 24 to 48 hours (believe it). But throw out soak water?, NO. Too many important nutrients thrown away. How long to vigorously boil? 20 minutes. Then simmer. How long to subsequently simmer? Until softened to your liking.
Can you make a dairy free recipe for banana bread?? Your recipes are sooo deliciousss I’m just lactose intolerant so I have to replace some of the ingredients!
Also a Pressure Cooker will get your beans ready in only ten minutes . Also soak beans overnight . You will save almost two hours of cooking and waste of Electricity or Gas .
I don’t even soak mine anymore
I'm making these beans now only thing I did different is add some lemon zest
I crush bean to make the gravy thick
How would you adjust for an instant pot?
You said store them, how well or long can they be frozen?
You need a Good Sofrito of Red Pimentos more Onions and garlic .
I love sofrito with black beans. I stored this pot of beans in containers. When I reheat them I like to start off by sauteing the sofrito, add the beans, season and serve. When I was younger, my Cuban Tia would make the best black beans and serve with her ropa vieja. She and my Tio divorced but I still remember her cooking.
@ Mamá, that sounds delish... do you have a video on homemade sofrito? mmm... keep up the good work y gracias! 🙏
1st 🔥
Do you freeze them?
Can I freeze these for later use?
Do you store them with the cooking water?
I came here just to see what I was doing wrong. Since a few of my beans still come out mone tender while other are good, but I came out learning some new things to add to the favor! People think chicken is the cheapest protein..guess they forget about legumes.
Also, I soak for 16hr+ really helps gets rid of bean side effects..lol
How long can I store them?
Guinness Stew on St. Paddy's Day.
I've never seen black beans like this. Once I rinse and soak mine, they're dark blue or purple and even as they dilute from a few rinses, they stay a deep purple. I've never seen any green or pale yellow. The beans you used are probably really fresh.
That’s because these beans are not the same as traditional Mexican beans. I don’t think people realize that these are not the same beans at all. Completely different plant.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed…. Hey! There’s something wrong here!
How do you store the cooked beans?
