Great review. I want to try solo mode now. The game really would have benefited from a icon quick guide for all players.
Hi Mike. I LOVE this game. I will agree that a couple of the icons are not super clear. But the gameplay is soo good IMHO and just fun to play as well because you get to create a pretty scene while trying beat your opponent. I don't know if I would like this solo though. Hard to say.
Love the review, but you made a small mistake at around the 6:30 mark. When you influence a new character you do NOT put your previous character out on the board. Only when you reach the end game do you then get to place all your characters out on the board and score them.

Are these house rules? I just got the game for Christmas, and the solo rules described in the playbook are quite different from what you are sharing. Most notably, the game in solo mode ends when either the tile stacks are depleted or you can’t place a pair. No reference at all to the landscape markers.
