Looks like a game I'd really like. The theme's spot on, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to play it, and the artwork looks cool. Think I need to get this one.
I'm glad to see this one finally made. The theme is spot on the first idea I had for a game, when I was introduced to modern gaming. The mechanics are a little different, but I have looked forward to checking it since I first found out Mr. Harmon was working on this a while back. Rock On Sam, and Thanks again for another great review!
This doesn't really seem like Sam's type of game. I've played this a few times and I think it works rather well as an entry level pickup and deliver game and I really like the theme. There are a few things I had not seen before like the timer (spoiling) on the cargo and removing items from the market as the game progressed so they became more expensive. I also like the mechanic of discarding cards to the board which then become available to all players.
great review thanks for informing
I would have liked this game in 1998. I didn't know Rio Grande still published games.
Thanks Sam - wicked good review - and appreciate the candidness at the end regarding it not providing anything new to the genre.
New MADrid. MAD pronounced like the synonym for “angry”. Earthquakes of 1811-1812 which caused the Mississippi to flow “upriver”. Don’t think that was modeled in the game.
So, this looks like a good game to me, not a lot of experience with market games like this - what would you recommend instead at a similar level of complexity?
Oh I know what Sam thought of this without needing to watch it.
I watch Token Punch Lunch. :)
Super late comment...maybe average...but super charming for me since I grew up in stl and small Rivertowns. So its a big win for me. I really like it.
5/10 not enough war lol
Eww. That artwork looks so dated already. :-(
I actually like this art, but not sure about the gameplay. Happy to try but likely not buying.
