  • Just my take on the ultra affordable Rossi RS22. The Rossi RS22 is a magazine fed semi auto carbine chambered in 22lr with some features priced well above its price point. In this video, I lay out my opinions on the rifle after the first 400 rounds. I also compare it side by side with the Marlin 795, of which this rifle is based.

    I just bought my Rossi and am in the process of making a video on it. I have watched all of the Rossi reviews I could find and yours was one of the best. You were the only person to mention the comparison to the marlin and also the way the trigger is a tiny bit spongey. I hope you do more videos as this was one was excellent. I bought mine for $148 and it has a threaded barrel.

    I've got 5 of these 25 rd magazines and have loaded each one to full capacity with little issue. Read the instructions and develop the technique. It's simple. Mag in the left hand with the loader on the top, push loader down with your left index finger, load a bullet, up, load a bullet, up, now 2 or 3 bumps of the base of the mag on the heel of your right hand while pushing with left index finger, bang, settle them buggers in, repeat. 2 bullets, bang and settle, 2 bullets bang and settle,... Works consistently for me on 5 different magazines, your results may vary. Great value for the money.

    25 rounders capped with mini mags or stingers sounds like a pretty good defensive rifle.

    Nice video. Interesting to hear opinions, especially since you also have the Marlin 795.
    Note: Marlin 795 and 60 don't come with a "buckhorn" rear sight. That sight is a traditional open sight, with a front blade, or post.
    Also, I like the bolt release on the Marlin but the mag release on the Rossi is much better.
    Peace.

      I purchased the 25 round magazines from Cheaper than Dirt. They are originally for the Mossberg 702 plinkster. They sell out quick so select the option to be notified when they are back in stock and act fast when they are. Thanks for watching! 👍

    Have you noticed any marks on your feed ramp? Mines had it whenever I bought it?

    • @Bob-xe4rh
      @Bob-xe4rh  Před 3 lety +2

      My feed ramp is very smooth. My experience with 22 pistols/rifles is that if the feed ramp has any machine marks deep enough to feel with your fingernail it may cause a FTF. What I've done in the past is take 1000 grit sand paper to smooth it out without removing too much material. Thanks for watching and thanks for your question!

    • @Bob-xe4rh
      @Bob-xe4rh  Před 3 lety

      So I had to go in my manual for this information, but Rossi says that they have a limited warranty for 1 year that does not cover modifications, visual damages, or normal wear and tear. So it basically covers function and parts breakages for one year

      Love my Citadel.
      Shooting from a rest, most of these budget rifles, are capable of accuracy, that will exceed the average persons ability to shoot it.
      Of course a “seasoned bench rest shooter” will find the limits of these remarkable rifles.
      But since I am an “unseasoned bench rest shooter, plinker, gopher exterminator guy” I am well pleased.
