- In May 2018, Coffee or Die's Marty Skovlund, Jr. embedded with Special Forces in Afghanistan's violent Nangarhar Province. What many didn't see in the "Embedded with Special Forces in Afghanistan" videos was the perspective of the conventional infantry troops that supported the Green Berets at COP Blackfish.
Until now.

CRAWFORD!!!! I was with him over there! He's the man! Miss you bro!
More SOF and longer vids please 🤘🏻
“Usually you see the SF guys laughing and having a good time.” Yeah, because they aren’t in the regular conventional Army🤣😂🇺🇸☕️
Truth!! The big green machine uses no lube...
How dare you speak so much truth.
@Prank ster
These guys aren't 18X..
You got to live a little. You can't take things seriously all the time. Green Berets are soundly mature and get the job done - and they love what they do.
So fucking true. 😔
At least they're not marines 😅😅
I spent 4 weeks training with an ODA at Dugway with my Engineer unit. I was with a 24 man Assault/Breach PLT, so we had a ratio of 2/1 with those guys. We were an hour and a half away from cantonment, and had Navy SH-60s supporting our missions. The knowledge and experience I gained in those 4 weeks was exponential compared to my total 9 years in service. They're totally cool guys, but as a Sgt the increased my knowledge and skill set so far beyond just being in a line unit. Long story short for guys that are still in, if you're cross training or embedded with them, watch them, ask good questions, learn learn learn!
Did you see that doorbell veteran? He told the security guard he planed to kill people and was only staying at that apartment complex to quote complete his mission! 🤣🤣🤣 There is gonna be a mass shooting! Hahaha his mission!
Those guys replaced us as uplift when we were ripping out. I fucking miss that place and the ODA we worked with. Mohmand/ OP Bravo was the shit and I miss everyone. Great memories
OP Bravo squad
It really is a special place. I miss the valley.
I miss Crawford, That deployment was a grand old time.
Mr Foxx really, a POG? Do you get some kind of satisfaction getting on youtube and being a keyboard warrior? Also, I am an 11B so maybe know someone personally before throwing around empty childish words.🤗
@@johngrim8624 what's a POG or 11B, sry I don't know much
Momo Taro A POG stands for personal other than grunt (basically an insult to people who or not in the combat arms). And 11B is the MOS identifier for infantryman.
Respect to our servicemen.. best our country has to offer
Yeah killing others is the best what your country has. 🙃
Zach Mayar Beats dude you have know clue what war is then, go educate yourself.
@Aslan Pak Sar Zameen Do you really think soldiers get to decide what tasks they're assigned to? If anything take it out on politicians and such decision makers. Don't undermine those doing the dirty work.
That mortar was the sizzle! Much respect to y’all on your mission...
this dude makes me miss my job.. best time of my life was in that country and if you don't understand, you never will.
Mature lads getting the job done
great videos! you guys are awesome! you should have 10 million subs!
I might be joining this Friday. If all goes well. Awesome video.👍
Cheers from washinton state! You guys make us proud !!!
I meet some SF guys with 1st Group on JBLM they're really humble and cool guys.
Puyallup is right down the road from me... and I was stationed in Fort Lewis in the 90s
Real men doing real things. No soy.
I did security for Hamid Karzai with the 4th ID, good group of people. I also did a 10 mile "morale run" with them.
YOU ALL HEROES AND STRONG ON ANY CHALLENGES AND ANY STRUGGLES THAT MAKES YOU ALL THE BEST. OF THE BEST
Can’t wait to be there
More!!!!!
keep doing this. if someone cares, they will see. i just hope more do.
Goddamn it was 10 years since I was in Afghan and these guys are here in 2018

I love this documentaries
Thank you to the men and women serving in the United States armed forces!
Team Army( ARSOF and General Purpose Forces) in Afghanistan. Amen and Roger That, Solid Copy, Soldiers!!🇺🇸🦅🗽⚔️❤️
Working with SF was the best experience I’ve ever had in the army. We were the guys who replaced the 4th ID dudes and took over the attached infantry role for most of 2019. SF guys are great dudes who love to teach you things and hang out. They would sit around worth us and play games, watch movies, work out, on base the SF ran everything and the way they saw it, because we were with them, we were allowed to follow the same rules and do the same things as them. Made the FST doctors and CRAM guys all butt hurt that we didn’t have to listen to them or do stupid things they did. I still talk to a lot of those SF dudes and have made great friends with them. If you aren’t Special Operations you rarely get the opportunity to learn the things they have to teach you. My battalion was Very lucky to have gotten to do that mission while the rest of the brigade was doing base security and other stupid stuff that is the job of MPs not infantry.
One of the benefits of being an Infantryman in 82nd Airborne is access to SF and some CAG. They would teach advance classes on warfare, cqc ect.
Heck yeah!
more SOF content like this!! really enjoyed embedded with special forces.. maybe something like that again in the future?
Man this brought back memories of being up on a mountain in the Kunar province providing support with a 60MM for the dudes clearing the valley below.
been support for SF for 3 years now, best time I've had so far
What Support MOS in a SFG will likely get to deploy? Im currently 11B and thinking of reclassing to a SF Support MOS. Thanks
@@Wsupjoe 35p, do it
Anybody else check to see if “ingenuitive” was a proper word?
It is in the Army 🤘
@@Kcrawf12 It is, period.
This wasn’t long enough
The SOF guys look so cool.
I go take my Asvab on the 27th I'm exited have no worries or fears .
luckyclover clover I just took my asvab a few months back. I studied for a few weeks and scored a 64. I was kinda pissed but that’s a decent score. Good luck give it your all.
My platoon supported a 7th group team in Helmand Province summer of 2006, if I could find those men now I’d kiss every one of them. They got us through some spicy situations.
Why didn’t you note their names or units in a diary or something for future interactions ?
Ow belas imagens desses grandes heróis! 👏😎👍
I've worked with some of the best uplift forces (11Bs) in Afghanistan. As grunts, these warriors absolutely know the meaning of ground pounding and will charge a machine-gun position (tactically) if their brother's lives depended on it. Cheers 🍻 boys. BTW, not saying this because I'm a former 11 Bang Bang myself. I still truly believe that the 11Bs are the heartbeat of the US Armed Forces. DOL 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Keep safe chaps onward the pilgrims 🇬🇧
I subbed
Special Forces Officers seem to be more mature & Culturally adept than the officers from the other SOF branches. Not the soldiers, but the Officers who’re rarely seen in interviews or out there all over Instagram.
Is there something about DAGREs???
Thanks.
True infantrymen get shit on a lot and no one ever talks about how good we are
How does a coffee company get to embed with SF, and how can a vet join in?
We supported special forces and 2 star general.
We have to be custodial workers
I've always wanted to join in the Army and go over there but I guess I'm to old for that now . Good luck boys over there take good care of your self .👍👍..
That’s my boy from basic
F.Co 2/54!
I would love to join, please please
Всем военнослужащим в любой точке мира возвратиться живыми и здоровыми домой!!!
It's all fun and games while out in the boondocks.
Until you ship home, and the pin drops regarding what you've seen, done, and allowed to happen.
Many see themselves as heroes, but after 20 years and onwards of fighting. Many question the purpose for fighting
Many see who the real bad people are.
It comes to the point that personal denial just no longer works to justify such actions and the conscience can only offer one way out for the hopeless.
The ones who seek redemption are fortunate. In what manner or form is an individual choice. Salvation is only gained by those who seek it.
Whoop Whoop Washington Baby!

4th Infantry Rocks!!
Guys/gals SF roll out with are 99% outstanding folks. Lived/worked w/3rd/7th/20th groups In Kandahar/Zabul/Oruzgon provinces. On the other end of spectrum SEALs. Squids overrated bullies. Got little except door kicking right. Navy personnel they roll out with 75% pitiful. Bad attitude. Didn’t sign up to be 4500 ft up a mountain and off comfy/safe ship. And let it be known constantly.
Why do SF guys not shave or wear helmets? Apologies for my ignorance..
They do whatever they want because they not in the big army. Usually really laid back to.
There job is to train and help foreign militaries so they were beards in Afghanistan because culturally that helps them blend in and have better relations with the people they are trying to support.
guardArmy That makes sense thank you very much. Any idea why no helmets?
I wonder syria usa russia in one team vs turkey
If it is not an occupation against the will of the Afghan people, how then is it possible that a coalition of the most powerful armies on earth, combined with trillions of war spending, and 19 years can’t get rid of a a few thousand ragtag Taliban fighters? Erick.
I was in mohmand, that exact OP Bravo, we took three casualties from a lucky ass mortar round, my pic is from OP Riverside (in front of Bravo) in 2017 when the awesome ODAs we were attached to ripped out with some national guard team, they were all cherries. Losing Glocks, magazines, just shooting so they could get their CIBs. Trash. But fucking awesome to see again
Puyallup!!
You know there was one or two conventional soldiers who were trying to show off and kiss ass, that one guy with his sleeves rolled up with a dip in his mouth, lol
At 3:12 I bet the much maligned UCP would have blended in much better. Just sayin'.
Good example
Lol I'm laying in a hotel rn now. Tomorrow mouring I go to meps to ship to Benning to start Osut and than go on to Air Assault Air Bourne than Rasp. LETS FUCKING GO! I dont give a fuck what anyone says I'll be sf in 2 years.
What of usa is there in afghanistan to do..if it where not on afghanistan's mineral resource as lithium..???(and the afghani opium..more known as afghani gold..????)
Kill bodies, stack em like cord wood.

Should dump a lot of welfare programs and pay military service members twice what they make.
@Alex 28 the welfare system itself is broken, more money won't fix it
Child's play.
Skovlund sounds like a Danish name. His heritage must be from Denmark?
Norwegian! -Marty
@@CoffeeorDie Awesome Marty! Nice videoes! Greetings from Denmark!
♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💍love us army💙💙love from L.A coffee with a lots of cream n milk o.k la ..la..land coffee 333😁😁
It’s definitely a lot more fucked up than what they wanna make it seem. There’s a lot less bravado and chivalry than the common man thinks is in war.
I wish I could help again I’m still in shape and bored. But they won’t take you back if you have had counseling. Sucks. Bad ass warrior ethos menses. Get em.
Why again is the US in Afghanistan? Asking for a friend
I call bullshit, Cav don't look to you, y'all call us when the party starts for real...
Guys, be professional, stop talking about supporting/working with SF. I know its hard when a camera is shoved into your face, when every week a new SEAL book/interview/film is being released. When someone comes up to you and says they will make you famous, just nod and walk away.
OPSEC, operational security, I know this is 2 years old, but the info that can be gathered from videos like this (not just this one) is huge. Weapon makes/load outs, Base layouts, who is wearing what (armour) Tactical response times/procedures, Troop rotations, hell even the smallest detail can give the enemy an edge.
What if we told you we worked directly with the military on this video, and even had it reviewed by them for OPSEC/PERSEC before publishing?
@@CoffeeorDie I wasnt trying to have a pop at your channel matey, your content is great. I was more aiming at the soldiers you often see in these types of clips who boast about SF work, who want to big themselves up on video/tv/youtube, who want their friends to see them in a new light. I think we should call it SEAL syndrome.
Im not belittling what these ppl do for your country, but they need to be more circumspect in the field or once they leave service. I think it has gotten alot worse over the past 20/30 years. Of course, with the heightened op tempo brought on by the middle east situations and terrorist threats, the idolisation of these SF ppl and the money that can be made from a book/film deal, its to be expected (I think it all started in a major way with our own SAS " Bravo two zero" from the mid 90s)
You dont hear much from your Green Berets or our SBS, a different sort of personality maybe? TBH i think there should be some sort of 5 year gag order placed on ALL SF/supporting assets when they leave.
All military have books and movies you idiot.Seals dont write books only the veteran same as the other unit too.
0:07 knowing your range to the enemy is sorta a basic thing for mortars and rifles. Is this guy really a soldier?
3:01 'ingenuitive' is not a word - did he really graduate from college?
1.) He means not thinking about how close the enemy is, in terms of danger or the precariousness of their position or situation. Most soldiers have that mindset where they put the danger out of their minds and focus at the task hand.
2.) “Ingenuitive: Adjective. ingenuitive (comparative more ingenuitive, superlative most ingenuitive)
(nonstandard) Possessing ingenuity; ingenious.”
Go be a failure of a smart ass somewhere else.
Afghan special forces should control of Afghanistan from America great

🇵🇰☕✋🤓
Still got our boys in Afghanistan for no reason. We’ve lost the war there, waste of American lives. Just another failed empire smh
Are you in the military?
A super power unable to defeat taliban who has fraction of ammunition and almost no high tech technology
Can't just wipe out an enemy who blends in/hides among the population, with Western Nations ROE/morals. They'd have to disregard of all that to truly exterminate a guerilla threat.
You’re in their country and when they do something about it they’re the ones that are evil? 🤦🏼♂️
