when i played naval focus germany, my convoy raiding was so successful that britain's army cant leave the island. when i tried sealion every british port was defended by at least 10 stacks and london itself is defended by about 40 stacks.

Why I hate then current CAS system. Should be able to freely bomb targets. Planes would attack all targets vs just the ones in active combat...
Gunner: "Look there chap! There's a whole mess of Jerry armor down there! Better knock it out before it reaches our boys!"
Pilot: "No can do, we can only attack the enemy if they are shooting at our troops."
      Me: What the actual hell.
Even if it's just a % attrition for some sense of balance. And I get why you can only have so much cas per fight form a balance stand point. Even though IRL you could just stack an endless wave of planes to do mass bombing runs vs just like 40 for whole fight.
Same with boats. Shell those god damn coastal troops / fortifications nonstop. Not just when the troops are already getting shot at....

In fact, Germany went both ways: First Admiral Erich Raeder startet the Plan Z, but caused by a lack of time and resources, only few ships were built (like the Bismarck and the Prinz Eugen). After that Dönitz seized more influence cause his submarines were rather effective and more and more were built of them. Fact at the end: The first gun, that was fired in WW2, were the guns of the ship Schleswig-Holstein at the Battle of the Westerplatte.

It is very time consuming to arrange them and it also seems like computer does not run his efficiently. Despite us having the same navy size, it made a bigstack of only 75 ships to my 151

  • @edgarratsep3631

I accidentally made united netherlands naval superpower by just building subs and naval bombers... As subs fear everything but convoys they will take their time to leave bigger ships which means that they will never get destroyed if they have good enough submarine defensive stats. While your subs are fleeing you get about 10 days of almost free naval bombing. That's not it, you can convoy raid convoys everywhere which worked amazing. Is a cheap strat and basically any country can do that 😏. But i doubt such a nobrainer strat would work in multiplayer.

Question about raiding, say the US is shipping 1000 guns to the USSR and I sink some convoys, does the US lose some of that equipment or does it just stay in the US stockpile? I know the convoy will be lost / less guns will reach the USSR. But wondering if the equipment itself is lost as well vs it magicly TPing back to America.

    • @LHS_Shadow
      @LHS_Shadow Před 4 lety +3

I think that if America set the guns, it would be removed from America’s stockpile as soon as it left the port. If the convoy was sunk, the guns just don’t arrive to the USSR. America already sent them, so they wouldn’t lose it gain any more. This is just what I think happens, but I’m not really sure.

I like it because now Operation Sea Lion is incredibly easy. I’ve done 3 Germany playthroughs (one unaligned, one communist, and one democratic.) and all 3 times all I’ve has to do is not loose my navy at the start of the war, build 2-4k naval bombers (easy with German industry.) put them over the Channel, kill France, put my navy of about 20 ships into said Channel (I didn’t even have to build new ships.) and select a single division to invade Dover, then just move the rest of my army to Britain and fucking demolish them.

Royal portugal can do alright as a lesser country becoming a naval power. You get a lot of bonuses to research, and free dockyards :).

I found that going for deck conversions and converting your old Light cruisers, (Karlsruhe, Emden, Köln, Königsberg) into carriers is quite useful, as they're not really effective as screens and can only be upgraded to a certain degree, of course you'll also have to build new light cruisers to replace them, but that's an easy task as Germany.
You can also convert some of the old destroyers into submarine chasers and minelayers for increased effectiveness.
I'd also advice against going for BB's in the current state of the game as they take way too long to produce and aren't really that great, making building Panzerschiffe and Heavy cruisers alongside a buttload of subs to gain naval dominance against the allies generally the better choice.
Also, Port strikes are OP, use them.

yep, every time i start thinking about buying MTG I just watch this video, and remember how time consuming the game is without having to sift through 20 different ship models and combinations in order to be competent. i got anxiety just looking at the ship production menu, all they needed to do was make the ai competent at using their ships.

alone during the Neo Assyrian Period the Capital was relocated multiple times. Assur, Nineveh, Dur-Sarruken are just some examples. The last "official capital, meaning from where the king does his business was somewhere in modern Turkey after their core land was conquered. Sorry if I'm really smartassy but I study history and being a smartass seems to be the only thing I'm being trained to do :/
