    Today we are unboxing and building one of Revell's oldest kits, the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz.
    This model kit was originally designed as a co-effort between Revell and AMT and both of these logos appeared on the original 1956 box art.
    The 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz By Revell was designed in the early days of the model car industry at a time when most American model kit manufacturers had not yet figured out how to build a 1-piece model car body. Therefore a lot of them relied on making multiple piece body components that needed to be glued together to make a solid car.

    Yep, you are a brush paint master Trevor👍This is how we started as kids. Great tip with the White walls.

      Thanks 👍 Glad you liked the video. After years spray painting, I just decided I had enough of clogged nozzles and I picked up the brush again. - Sadly, I'm still getting dust in the paint. I guess some habits are just too hard to break, even though I wash the car with static blocker and use canned air to blow out my brushes and the model before I begin painting. I just understand where the dust is coming from.

    Very nice work on this one. That is a very nice kit; especially, since it is 1/32 scale. Thanks for sharing.

    The Caddie looks Terrific Trevor. Great job with the details and trim. I'm amazed you got such a great finish brush painting the body. Excellent! Adam & Eve look great in the car. And great tips and tricks for the builds.

      Thank you so much 😀 I might switch to brush from here on out. I inherited a lot of vintage Testor's paints from my dad and I have a buch of my own. They just sit here, collecting dust, but they are still 95% good...so time to put them to use doing what they do best!

    A tip from a pro on the tires. Paint the tire black, then take a drill motor or rotary tool and the right size drill and place the drill inside the hole of the wheel cover, 'totally assembled'. Secure the drill on a sturdy surface. At low RPM procede to carefully apply the whitewall using a fine paint brush. A perfect circle is the result.

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  Před 4 měsíci

      For sure. Have you had a look at my Tips and Tech video on painting tires? I use the same principle there. Another idea is to use the tire spinner for the cub cars.

      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  Před 4 měsíci

      It's called a mandril. Forgot the name, but I used it on the Cub Car wheels to sand down the outer edges. It's a metal rod with a screw on the top. Take out the screw, put the wheel hole on the screw and screw it back into the rod. Then you can turn the wheel in the drill.

      I know what you mean. The closest Revell (Now Atlantis) Cadillac that you would get in the multi-piece body like this is the 1957 Eldorado. I have unboxed one on this channel in my video library.

      Yes, the new one does. I saw an unboxing/build for it. Wish mine had the glass. I wonder if it's a new part from Atlantis, or if Revell had it and didn't include it in my kit or something. - But it's not in the instruction sheet, so who knows.

    The built kit looks great. How did you brush paint the gloss black and not leave any brush marks?

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage

      Thank you!
      I am a master of the brush! 🖌
      Actually, the Tremclad settled out really nicely on it's own.
      I just went a little "Thick" in application.
      Also, I think living in Alberta in a dryer, higher area (2000 k above sea level) helps out. This is right out of the can and has no clear coat.
      My Dad's models (And even my own when I lived there), painted in British Columbia, using Tremclad, look "foggy" in the paint and never achieved the high level of gloss that mine do in Alberta. B.C. is located on sea level (0 K) and is quite wet and humid. I think that affected the paint there.

    I think when this guy says he brush painted it ,he means airbrush. Lots of people just say brush they don't say airbrush

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  Před 4 měsíci

      Nope. I BRUSH painted it with a 1/4" wide brush.

      That's a pretty good paint brush. I use a lot of brushes ..usually I use a 3.0 or 30.0 for fine detail

      @@larrymartin4294 Well, the brush sizes all depend on the job. I use 0.30 too for the fine detail, but I also have a long bristle brush that I use for pinstriping.
