Jesus is our Angel of light and life Happy birthday to my mom and grandma🎉🎉 my Guardian angels of light and life and happy birthday to my stepgranddaughter today🎉🎉❤😂
Not only is this my favorite Petra lineup, but the records of this era (esp More Power To Ya and Not Of This World) are sonically Petra's best, IMO. Digging those warm, spacious analog mixes with soaring, organic Volz harmonies. Do yourself a favor, put on a good pair of headphones and listen to those albums, paying attention to nothing but John Slick. I've heard these records thousands of times and still hear new bits of his genius.
Man, what a great video! Christian rock has never really surpassed this lineup. A supergroup by all definition, and lyrics that actually mean something!
Miss them saw them 80s with servant what a christian concert! 80s had best christian music .amy grant phil keaggy ressurection band! Petra, keaggy the best!
Saw these guys in 84, Evansville IN at the Mesker Amphitheater, Beat the System tour, my dad took me, I had to get some parachute pants after seeing them, still a fan of Petra
I know this is Christian music, but, man, is the guitar BRUTAL! Excellent group! I can remember the time when many people were speaking against them. Now, as Mr. Hartman says, they can “see the fruit” of their labors! I can speak with many Petra fans that I love all the personnel lineups of this band!
He could only play a few riffs, and the rest of the time the guitar was just a prop like you see here. I don't think he ever put the time into becoming an accomplished player.
Pretty impressive that he could do that. I think Petra would have benefited from a full time rhythm guitarist. I know Greg was an accomplished drummer too.
If you see that as an Illuminati reference then that is your own perspective. As I see it, it is simply outlining the light that is shining down upon Greg.
The live vhs, now a dvd, of this show was the first time I ever experienced a "medley" of a band's songs. I didn't like the idea then and I don't like it now. I thought it was a big rip off that the Petra paid lip service to so many songs in a medley. That said, Gregg sounds great on his vocals. Bob Hartman played some great guitar here. Petra really helped me a lot back when I was in the church. They ministered to me through their music. I figure Gregg has to sound better than John Schlitt does these days.
at stratmatt-it is not apyrimid, the base is too narrow, it is is playing with the shpe of the spot to make you see the compsition with the musician inthe middle- its bassicly 80s artsyness.
Here's my take: for all of time, Christian music was about singing to God or sometimes about God. When Petra (Stryper, Guardian, Trytan, White Cross, etc.) came around, they took the initiative to sing to (at?) the devil. Legend.

My favorite Petra era. By the way, John Slick was perhaps the most underrated keyboardist ever.
Absolutely 200% agree about this bring the best lineup.
John Lawry

the voice of the trumpet sound, the voice of profecy
very anointed
Phenominal. Greg's vocal range easily rivaled Freddy Mercury's. Love all the old live clips I can get my hands on for Petra.
Edward Hutchinson the vocal range of Greg is better than Mercury's
I have always loved chameleon just that beautiful dueling guitar at the start one my favorite petra songs ever
1:58... that's all you need right there...
PETRA MEANS ROCK. Thx for posting... ROCK ON.
wow! brother thanks for this video, God bless you
Greg canta muito!!!
Eu concordo com você .
Greg should have played guitar more. He obviously has solid pro technique if he can play that intro to Chameleon.

Mi banda
John Lawry must have gone to the same school of performing as Gerry McAvoy of Rory Gallagher's band
This video is of Slick

A voz do Greg nessa época era bem mais agura.

First minute of this song definitely sounds like a Iron Maiden song intro.
Was this from "Real Videos?"

how to get a copy of this?
@PetraXVolz Do you know the venue and date for this show?
Probably it was recorded on 1983 because of the songs and the keyboardist John Slick.
