I first heard Petra back in 1983. I was 13 years old and my family had just moved from California to Texas (my father's job). I never even knew Christian music was a thing until I heard Petra. I saw them in 1985 at Astroworld and gave my life to Christ that night at their show. They are my favorite band of all time. They were an anointed group. While I am partial to the Greg Volz era of Petra, I love all of the their stuff. I am also a musician (keyboardist) and they have influenced my music writing all of these years. The level of musicianship in this band was on par and even greater than ANYTHING that secular music had to offer. Their stage show was great and were easily one of the best bands I have ever heard. I praise God for their ministry and for the lasting effects their music has brought to millions around the globe in Jesus' name :)

Powerful songs, powerful message, even non-believers can enjoy their ENDURING MUSIC!!! These guy's made some VERY VERY GOOD MUSIC. If folks have only heard John Schlitt, checkout Petra with Greg X Volz. What a PERFECT VOICE for Christian hard rock.

Listened to this live album many times back in the '80s. It was clear Greg X Volz had a good voice at the time, but here I am 35 years later listening to him again and I am just dumbfounded at how good his voice really was. It's unreal.
Greg was the GOAT. I'm a high tenor and I can't even "think" some of this notes he starts to hit at 12:15. Must have listened to this medley a thousand times growing up.

I had the VHS this and the albums. Great stuff! I saw them 3 times in concert and Greg during his solo tour in the 90's. GXV and Petra have been the soundtrack of my Christian experience for 40 years. They rocked me through trials, temtations and challenges. There will never be another band like Petra.

This band was never this good again after Greg left. Not saying they were ever bad, but this Era was the best.
