Honestly, Michael Gross deserves better than he got as character actor. He gave this one his all and he embraced it. I think it’s why he lasted so long in the business. I’d love to meet him.
It's kinda weird looking back on the first two movies. If I were to tell you way back then that burt who get 7 movies and a TV show over Kevin bacon would you believe it.
He became the star of the series and show. I don’t think that was initially intended. The first three of theses movies were GREAT. The last two…. Ugh

Then he was able to hog-tie one alive in the back of his truck. He also got swallowed by a graboid in a barrel and was later cut out alive and in one piece.

I love how this series went from being Val and Earl's story to being Burt's story.
Burt's my all time favorite character in the whole Tremors franchise. Hands down.
I've wanted Burt's truck since I was 7 years old watching this scene for the first time. Tremor's 2 is right up there with the original for me. It's the got the goofy fun action stuff, and Burt became the star, but it also kept the horror theme in the beginning with the nighttime scenes and mysterious killings. The rest are just a little too over-the-top trying to be funny, but I still enjoy them because of Burt.
They’re out there for pretty decent prices. That’s an AM General M35A2 and they can be had for under 10k.

My dad was heavy machinery operator/ mechanic back in 'Nam, I'm sure he'd glow if I called him one day to tell him to give the truck a once over :)
Growing up in the mid-west in the 70's I got to operate equipment modern farmers would be jailed for allowing any kid to get close to. I learned to drive on this trucks older cousin, a Korean war vintage deuce and a half. Not that bad from the drivers seat. A royal PITA when you're a spindly fourteen year old kid loading eighty pound sacks of feed onto an armpit high truck bed.
The M35A2, a very cool truck. Very reliable when properly taken care of and maintained. I've had two and there's no other way to scream 'Murica other than driving one of these classics down the road and beeping the horn for the kids. It's not about the miles per gallon, but the smiles per gallon!

This scene is pretty much quintessential Burt Gummer. A summary of everything that the character is. So if you know someone who’s never seen Tremors, tell them that Burt is the best part of the series, and then show them this clip. Because this is Burt throughout the entire franchise, and that’s a very good thing.

Maybe Burt Gummer should be released with Ash from Evil Dead in the next Mortal Kombat expansion. A finisher move can be a Graboid bursting up from the ground and swallowing your opponent.

That has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read in a CZcams comment, or anywhere else for that matter. Even as a joke, it's pitiful. The only way an insane gun-nut like Bert Gummer could do anything about Covid-19 would be if he shot everyone who was infected before they could spread it. He would *definitely* run out of ammo attempting that.
Gummer shines in this situation because a world full of creatures he's allowed (and even encouraged) to shoot is the only world he's suited to live in. Outside of that situation, he's a gun fetishist forever unable to fire his load . . . so to speak.
For a B-Movie series, the practical effects were pretty amazing.
The fact Burt was one man, able to take on a couple dozen Shriekers with guns and hand to hand combat along with his vehicle is why he's the most skilled person in the Tremor series. Even when he was denied critical need to know information on the new species, he still managed to kill every single one, and surprisingly used all his ammo in the end. WOW

Burt is one of those criminally underrated action heroes.
Honestly this part and the graboid dragging the truck are the best parts of the movie for sure just the sheer over the top nature of the film really hits home with these two moments.
This is the best franchise. How had I not heard of it until this week??? Fantastic all the way through. Never laughed so hard during a movie. Genuinely this is packed with gems.

My favorite part of this movie is when he drops the CZcams video's title line. He goes almost immediately from completely exhausted and exasperated, to stopping to think for a moment and commenting in a very calm and almost curious tone of voice, "That's never happened to me before."

Heard they're still in the talks for another TV series, this time with Val coming back.
The image of a quiet country night being broken up by an army truck rampaging across the field with shrieks, sporadic gunfire, and incoherent *[CRITICAL NEED-TO-KNOW]* screaming is a joyous one.
Thank you for posting this, the best one in the series and one of the best parts in this movie. You got to love Burt Gummer.
