Thank you so much for the easy to understand instructions! Very straight forward and helpful.
Thanks so much for this!
Thanks for these videos!!! It's super helpful.
Hi, very good video, I wanted to ask a question, regarding the head protector. I want to buy a used rx1 printer, which signal indicates that the printhead was hit? And if you have any advice to determine the good state of the printer. Greetings. And I will be attentive to your comments.
How do you transport the ribbon once you take it out?
its only for transportation??
If you do not move it, you do not need to have it? thank you
Can you just take out the ribbon and put the foam in, whilst the paper is still in there. Also what if we keep the door open during transport there the vibrations cannot cause the ribbon to jump up to damage the header
Where can i get a replacement pad in the UK?
Thanks! Very helpfull! And speaking in orotection do you use a nobreak? How many watts?
I am not familiar with the term nobreak with dyesub printers. I assume that is either a surge protector or a UPS battery backup. In which case both should be used especially with bad power. Watts is figured by Volts X Amps. The RX1(HS) in the US is 110 Volts. The Amps on a RX1HS is 2.9 Amps. 110 x 2.9= 319 watts. I hope that helps.
I leave the paper and ribbon in place and put the foam piece in the proper place during transport and haven't had any issues. Hope that's okay...?
2 things. 1. If you keep your ribbon and paper in the printer with the pad and forget to remove the pad the next time you use it, you will melt the pad onto the head, ruining the head. 2. Transporting with the paper run through the printer, it can knock out the load sensor so you cannot load paper the next time you run out. imagingspectrum.com/blog/2018/05/dont-wreck-your-printer-when-transporting-to-events/
6 years workin with photoboot on weedings and i never get out peper for transport:)
What type of printer U have?
Where is can buy that protective foam? I bought mine second hand DNPrx1hs. Please help
you can get them from us at, www.imagingspectrum.com/dnp-rx1_print-head_pad.html
If you lose the foam.....can you transport the printer empty...as in take out the paper and ribbon...but not use the foam ...?
Removing the media is always a good start. However, the foam pad prevents the damage to the head caused by the vibrations of the vehicle. Here is replacement head pads: www.imagingspectrum.com/dnp-rx1_print-head_pad.html
What if i dont have this foam item? Can i replace with something else?
There is nothing else you can safely replace the pad with. However, replacement pads are only $4.99 here: www.imagingspectrum.com/dnp-rx1_print-head_pad.html
can I put this foam on ribbon without removing paper and ribbon ?
same question do you have the answer already?
Yes, the DNP guy told me it's ok not to remove the paper and ribbon when putting the foam. hth
Nice, and what about DS620?
The 620 printer does not have the foam pad, but does need the media removed. imagingspectrum.com/blog/2018/05/dont-wreck-your-printer-when-transporting-to-events/
white line in the left side of the print is coming how to set right
Depends. Could be media not loaded correctly, bad media, bleed issue and other possibilities. If you are an ISI customer, call us and ask for a tech ticket.
What is thr dimensions of head pad ?
Here is a link to purchase the pad. www.imagingspectrum.com/dnp-rx1_print-head_pad.html
Well f*** me...my dog just ripped that piece apart..!

Engineering fail: that's the reason NOT to buy a RX1. Have used other DNPs at countless locations over the years, never removed paper and ribbon during transport 😄
All dyesub manufacturers have always said to remove media to prevent internal damage to the printer. It is not an engineering fail. imagingspectrum.com/blog/2018/05/dont-wreck-your-printer-when-transporting-to-events/
@ImagingSpectrum I have more than 10 dyesubs, mostly DNPs, some in use going back 15+ years, with countless transports with in-place media. None mention removing the media while transporting in their manuals and none have this stupid foam insert and the ridiculous "floating" print head which makes it unnecessarily sensitive.
Say what you want, I'll def never get an RX1.
The only thing I DO before transport is empty the cuttings tray, these can spill and jam the printer mechanism, sometimes in an inaccessible area making a tech stop necessary.
