A 9 minute film 'Sunshine Cruises' taken from original cinefilm footage of Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferries and edited in 2005. Featuring original Red Funnel (officially known as Southampton Isle of Wight & South of England Royal Mail Steam Packet Company Limited) paddle steamers and Isle of Wight footage from the 1930's.

Amazing how they just 'bumped' the cars onto the ferry back in those days!

I loved the 'Buff Funnel' (?) paddle steamers, sailing from pier to pier along the South Coast. They took little draught and could turn on a sixpence. One could look inside the engine house too and see the reciprocating machinery. This was in the 1950s and into the early '60s.
