MILES - The name
Dude! Take my vote for Miles!
Call it miles
parvez haroon yesssss
parvez haroon My guy , this is the best one.
I like this one the most.
Winner.
Right here
There's an Octavia cab in my city with close to 700.000km and running like new.
My grandpa's octavia is close to 100000 km and it runs perfectly
Το κανάλι του παππού 100k isn’t a lot
@@whimsical6 I meant a million not a hundred thousend it's just a typo o.k.
Sooo what you're saying is that a Skoda Octavia is a good investment?.. xD.. I really want one..
@@Vanadeo its dirt cheap, its a VW essentially and its durable.
I have the same car. I have been driving it for the last 10 years!! I still love it. It is the real "built like a rock" car. And it has been driven on Romanian roads all of it;s life. Still works flawlessly.
it is skoda after all
Yes, full restoration please!
forrest gump, because he is still running
forrest dump sounds more intimidating for a 430k mile car
@all: thx so much for your support
Dad brought 1 of these with 230000 miles on the clock, was pristine & excellent on fuel
This sounds like a cool project. I really enjoy when someone takes good care of something that others think is useless. One note, feel free to get the tires up to pressure, even before the restoration begins. Good luck!
A full restoration would be so awesome. This car clearly deserves it!
Nah give it to the 1 million mile toyota tundra truck
Did you watch the video?
Some say he has watched the video.
Some say he actually owns a skoda octavia
All we know is, he's not the stig.
Its the stig's German Cousin!!
Yeah that would be good to see.
They're an absolute shit to work on so I expect they'll give up on that idea fairly quickly
Yoda the Skoda
English pepole say Skoda not Scoda and the most correct is (its a Czech car) Škoda
Adam McGinty well i do :D
Just seen this in my recommended feed and I just subscribed. Great video.
This series has sold me on the idea of owning a higher mileage VAG group diesel. Not 400k high, but high regardless.
Mike my car has 267,876 miles and everything works except some buttons on my steering wheel because I unplugged them when my stereo got changed
Viagra!! its blue and old...
Clube Skoda TV Cocktavia!
Rocktavia or like Deez Cocktavia are cool names
I was going to say what was wrong with just "Octavia", but this one just takes the cake. That would be perfect as it's going to get a restoration done on it.
- "Old and worn, but it just keeps going on"
Lol, yes, and the the shape of the car is not that far of from a pill.
Gotta call him Russel surely. Or Russ!
It needs to be called Myles
Hugo yep that's the one
Yes. Myles is perfect.
Yes myles is suitable
Winner 😂
Perfect.
It‘s a 1.9TDI...
This fantastic piece of engineering is just warm with +400k Miles :P
We have it in our old Audi A6 from 1998.
Awesome!
i work at a scrapyard in england and we're starting to get a lot of volkswagen golf 4th generations now, the ones that posses the invinsible VW 1.9TDI engine have pretty much all done 200k or more, the only reason they are being scrapped is because of rust most of the time and the owners cant be bothered spending the money to sort it.
@@drakevevo3710 The the 1.9 Diesels are indestructible they refuse to die the rest of the car will fail long before the engine does. I had one as my first car it already had over 250,000 miles on it and I thrashed the living crap out of it and drove it like it was stolen and it sold it on it now has over 275,000 miles according to MOT records.
@@gravemind6536 i got a question..Do u know more cars that share the same engine?Because Im looking for a first official car,a beater car.I dont wanna spend more than 2000 for it.i heard that the 19tdi is great, but only two octavias were available before but they got sold.thanks in advance.
@@chubz01 Skoda Fabia, Seat Leon, Seat Ibiza , VW golf and Polo and Audi A3, Audi A4
Drake VEVO I picked up a 1.9tdi mk5 with 170k on clock. Rusty wings and paint could use a bit of attention other than that car is running sound 😁👍 we have a mk4 in our family going still also
Really liking your recent videos keep it up!
name it apollo since it was to the moon and back (almost)
Ardian Begaj 😂😂😂😂 almost
Should it not be artemis cause apollo is the sun god
Tyler will sue alex than
*Hoovie intensifies*
Call it Cheryl, cause it’s high mileage, tired and a little loose. Shoutout MCM!
Andrew Barham +1 million.
It's also large, wallows around, smells a bit funny, and needs a whole lot of lovin'.
Also most of the outside bits dont work
"... a car can last forever"
Well apparently not if some moron crashes into you despite having seen you coming.
RIP my little grey bastard
I love you 3000
I hit a deer in my first car, fixed it up badly and ran it for 1 more year until it was MOT time, it failed two times abd then i had to scrap it ...
I still miss that old car, it was reliable, cheap and had great gas mileage.
@@steamkrypton2990 First cars are special as hell.
I miss my shitty 1.0 Micra every day.
"This car deserves a bit of love" - nice summary.
The car NEED to be called "Miles"
Swoosh & WyTiger she needs to be called Miley :D
PRDIK !
Yes
As many have said, no other cars deserves more the name Miles
Fantastic video! Really inspires me to drive old cars
Proper service and looking after the car is a factor for sure, but also the 1.9 is probably the best engine Volkswagen ever made in my opinion
I have a 2004 VW tdi 1.9T with 484,600 miles! Still going strong!
Mines a Fabia VRS 1.9tdi and it’s only on 121k now but still runs like a dream, seen some with Nearly 300k on them and sit going, brilliant engines
Karolínka she is czech after all :D
Couldn't agree more
As a polish guy, please write some words so I can read them and improve my mood.
im not polish hahaha im from croatia
Siemasz Karolinko, czekam aż wrócisz z księżyca
Some other names: Elzbieta, Kunegunda, Kloc, Zuzanna, Martyna, Marcelina, Agata etc.
name it Paštika! xD
I had a 1.2 Skoda Fabia estate as my first car which I loved to bits - she was called 'Skye' (AKA 'The Phatmobile') and ran like a dream; I even took her 2,536 miles around Europe last summer which was unreal...
...Until the brakes failed on the A1 and I ended up in a bush. RIP Skye. Pls call your Skoda Skye in memory of her.
Pros: very cheap
Cons: can breakdown any minute
TheTouge - Gaming videos In which case, no longer cheap.
@@nimaforoughi7266 It is people fear high mileage cars so are not willing to pay much for them so the market value is low.
Not really. You can trust car like this so much more than half the age and quarter of the mileage Mercedes (not E, they are usually alright) of Range Rover.
Yes, something may break but car like this will still take you home. It's all of new technology and limp mode making cars not drive-able if nearly anything breaks down what makes newer cars so difficult and expensive to run when they get older.
I've known new cars breakdown before they leave the factory
I’m actually looking forward to this!
432k miles on a 1.9TDI? Literally, it's just over the brake-in period mate... That's a Nigel or Miles for sure. Or Apollo 19 since it's a 1.9.
Nigel? That's the name of the price that amazon grand tour gave to especially awful cars.
But Miles is a suitable name. It should be Miles
Do a power test. To see what lost.
It is not entirely possible, because the previous owner done chip-tuning to increase power and torque. Alex would have to swap stock ECU and it would be just a wild try because once people start to modify this kind of cars, they can change for example the fuel injectors from 110hp version and you could never be sure that is it in stock condition.
Martin Gold but you can always check if they're genuinely stock when purchasing a classic car
Probably the best car Skoda ever made. have a 02 Octavia Elegance myself since 2005, and apart from a few issues with the ignition (failed coil), and having to replace the rear brakes twice it has been quite reliable. And also almost no rust at all in a quite hostile climate, especially compared to other cars of the same age.
Call him "The Voyager" because its travelled 17.3 times around earth
call her The voyager
Call it the voyage. In English inanimate objects have no sex.
I mean, aside from the rockets we sent out into space in the 70s, Chrysler already makes a car called The Voyager in the United States
@@basilpunton5702 yeah but a lot of people like to name their cars boats and trucks

Really looking forward to following your videos on this Octavia... My '99 is the identical colour, identical interior, and it has over 300,000 miles on it.. I bought it 9 yrs ago for £750 and it has never ever once let me down!!! I service it every 4 or 5 thousand miles, because its so old, but i knew the previous owner, and the engine has never been opened or touched.. Also, the best part abt it is...... It's still doing over 60mpg, and here in Ireland, its very rarely on motorways... I am definitley going to fully restore mine shortly
You've actually inspired me to buy a Honda civic 1.4 that I've been looking at for some time now and has 211 thousand miles! And I'm determined to keep it and fix it up to last as your as yours keep doing what you do best I watch all your videos 👌😊
Sigmund. Sigmund the Skoda.
Bob McFarland
Cheryl, a la MCM. A mature woman who's been around the block once or twice, and despite some exterior wear, has still got game.
I have absolutely no idea why I haven't subscribed in all this time that I've been watching this channel. But now I am finally subscribed.
I have no idea where you filmed that intro but I love that that have a Dalek standing there. Those are my people.
The car is male and called miles !
Robert Lloyd damn, beat me to it!
This needs more upvotes.
Robert Lloyd that's simply brilliant!
Actualy, Octavia is in czech language a femine, so its she ;)
Winner 👏🏼
Apollo or Apollo 18. It's been on the moon and is returning to earth, so to speak, right?
I don't know. Hoovie's Garage already has the Apollo 911. Might be just a tad unoriginal.
and Apollo is already a Volkswagen car
That's going to be interesting!
BTW, 90hp tdi is famous for its durability.
PS: I'm subscribed for like 2+ years, but rarely watch your videos and your filming style and quality improved a lot! Well done!
01. Much excited to see it's restored brand new!!! Wish it Millions then Billons!!!
02. I felt inspired to buy a old project car & do anything crazy that I would feel.
03. This is is a hero should never be scraped away but preserved.
Dory. Just because the doors don’t work.
Not because it's blue?
TraustiGeir that’s a side effect
And it just keeps swimming
KayPeaThree 3 haha. YES
I have same dark blue 285+ km 1.9 tdi 110 ps 81kw
346 mile commute? MOVE HOUSE!!!
Si Raff Why would you want to live in Liverpool
Fair point but why would you want to spend 6 hours a day in a skoda? Surely they could have just got a closer job and done extra hours for the difference in pay?
My Skoda Fabia (1.4L 16V 55KW/75HP) was born in 2003 and has 350k KM on its clock. For its bad engineered Pistons it still sounds good and behaves very well. And now i will restore the car back to a fresh and clean one by repairing all his little issues that has come within its way (clutch brakes shockabsorber almost all moving parts on the axle in front and some service stuff like filters and oil again) im very happy my mom purchased it and not only used it but kept it serviced all the time !
youre a far sighted man, wanting to restore it. not only does this car deserve it, but i am sure that these old Skodas are going to be Mercedes 124w's of the future; icons that noone right now notices. they are a marvel of modern car production and practically the only 2000s+ car i'd consider owning.
Miles
Call him miles because it's relevant and I've copied another guy in the comments.
Ali Gaming you piece a shit
At least ur honest lol
Tommy K what are you jelous or something you fucking wannabe keyboard worrior
this made me lol
Ali Gaming look okoo
alex you legend, that intro is epic :D
0:30 Oh hey I can see my office from here!
Also another vote for naming it "Miles"
Name it blue balls cause with over 400,000 miles it hasn't busted yet.
Upvote this,we've got a winner!
Yes!
Lol that's perfect!
Come on guys we got this
A 1.9 TDI is a bulletproof engine
Kasim Akhtar 1.9 TDi, 2.0 HDi, 1.9D Peugeot, 1.9 JTd are the best diesel engines!
Zabole Me you can also add hondas 2.2 dci (n22a and n22a1) engine to the list
engine yes....injectors, dsg gearbox and electronics NOT
The old 90 hp tdi is dog slow by today's standards though. They also had no DMF which meant they used to eat gearboxes. Shame he couldn't find a year later pd130 - great engine.
lie. I had a 2007 Passat that broke down twice a month Volvos edrive 1.6 is bulletproof
Hi Alex, yes this is gonna be a nice car restored, its cheap on fuel and has a cool mpg on it.cant wait for the next video.
Can't wait to see it restored
That car is a KEITH. Never have I seen something look so much like a Keith in my entire life. You should wear a wooly jumper every time you drive it 🤣🤣
Agreed
Billy RS whats wrong with woollen clothing....
That's exactly what I was thinking!! You beat me to it!
Yep that's a Keith alright
What about Buzz he's been to the moon and back
Thank you miles!! My first car is the 2009 facelift Octavia with the 1.9!! Although, a 1.9 PD
I love this show and channel. When will they get on a network?
You should try to make it work, like make the doors open and the windows work. Maybe clean it. Like if you agree
Nevermind
Should get it on the dyno and see how many horses have run away
5:00 I've had so many cars with problem lists like that - very honestly I love owning and regularly using them - it feels like you and the car know each other and have come to a mutual understanding to just keep driving together
I love those 1.9 engines, a guy stopped by our shop with just over 500,000 miles , and the interior and everything was phenomenal I don't live near where cars rust it just look amazing. The guy said he drives from Texas to California every week.
Call it Prince Philip because it will never die
Surely Queen Elizabeth II?
MegaBigByte Could be but he looks more like a Phillip to me

Music Man maybe leave that until they get something electric.
Geoff Tate \m/
"G off"? Because this is a stupid way to spell "Jeff" really. Anyone with this name spelling is probably a pretentious asshat.
Music Man unless it's a BlackPanthaa reference maybe?
I got one of these, mine is a wagon with 4x4 tho, love that turbo diesel, it's lovely to drive. Got a 2008 low milage honda as well but man I like my Skoda
My friends dad owned same Skoda Octavio, was a first owner and drove 1,000.000 km and went to the Skoda store and got a new one Octavia and store kept old one for a store museum. :D

Hello, Where is the car now? I have seen this amazing video two years ago. I have the same car more then 10 years for daily driving and I wanted to change it two years ago, thanks to you I didn't. I changed the shock absorbers for Bilstein as you did and it is really fantastic.

@@z-trip5457 it's been great! Not much has been done well except for the sway bar links and regular maintenance. Just did a 600km trip and it did well!
@@MTDfilms Sweet! Keep it up!
Octavia TDi is the go to tuner/teenage ricer car in Slovakia and Czech Republic, you see these everywhere, they are so stereotypical, high mileage, low fuel consumption, shaft play in the turbo that makes the turbo squeal a little, worn tires, busted suspension, leaked out shocks, warped discs (mainly pre-facelift, as yours because they had smaller discs that were not adequate for the heavy engine) and, of course, those atrocious seats, hard as hell and the rear has no leg room because it was sacrificed for the boot space, but its one of the most reliable cars you can have, just blank off the egr and its a forever car, we call them sheep here :D
asi tak no
1.9 tdi ta nikdy nesklame
No Bullshit Promotions
*nenadchne
Idea: take the economy to the extreme! Make it lighter, do maintaince and tune for mpg. See how far one tank can take you.
Colonel Camp no need,it's a 1.9 tdi. 5-6L/100km
Drive from UK to Czech Republic on a single tank of fuel.
Anton Peterson true,55-60 litres is good enough for about 1500km,even if you drive a little bit sporty
awesome guys!!
I am skeptical about buying a 2013 frs that has 400k miles on it, but this video helped me make a decision. I will get to try the car, inspect it and buy it if everything is working out fine
Actualy, one Škoda in Czech republic, made 1.300.000KM thats about 800.000miles, still runs.
Zelyzko CZ A FABIA, right?
Škoda is great :-)
Tip your hats to the Mighty Car Mods universe and name the car CHERYL
Patrick Andreou Skoda the Molly or Skoda the Sharon.
Got pretty much same car, Škoda Octavia LX1.6 MPI, 55 kw, 1997, no turbo, same color, no elecctiracal windows, tachometer stopped working around 240 000 km+, but i estimated it has around 300 000-400 000 km, bcs i got it for 2 years and previous owner which had it also for 2 years said that the tachometer wasn't working when she got it, but i must say it is in much better condition than yours on video, it has no fabric tearing apart, only few scratches on the front doors under the reproductos. From the outside it is also in great condition and i really enjoy driving with it. Long story short, it is a great car. And btw i didnt gave mine name, but its she. I jsut call her Octavia. Its a nice name and kinda real name.
Scotch and Skoda :)
A friend of mine has a Skoda Octavia, but i think his car is 1.6L, and i think it is normal, not diesel. It is running since 2006, and it is in great condition, too.
Love the Harry Hill intro
Robert Lloyd say Everyone ??
My dad has a Suzuki Vitara 1,6 with 408.000 km note it burns oil but still runs!!I agree if you take care of something it can last!
King Whispa okay dumb question but in America we would say 408,000 what would you guys do if a number was like 408,183.292
JeremyM I don't know man haha 😂 what do you mean?
JeremyM we 403.000,871
They use commas to separate numbers in the US. We don't in Europe, we only use comma to separate decimals. "408.000 km" is a bit misleading, should've been "408 000 km" or "408 tkm".
King Whispa bruh 400000km is like nothing i know Volvo that has over 1.5 million km
Well... I fell in love with this car xD
This video series convinced me theres nothing wrong with a high miler skoda ... so I went away and bought a 2013 superb with 197,000km (119,000 miles) so far so good... only had to change rear calipers as they were starting to seize and a new copper pipe
Blueberry
Chitty Chitty Bang
Octavius!!!!!!!
Fuck yeah !! Sounds Awesome !

I'm in the States. Just traded straight across a 100% reliable 95,000 mile 2012 Jeep Liberty (hated it after 5 years ownership) for a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with 217,000 miles. SAY WHAT?? Traverse has full dealership service records since new (a HUGE plus) and it shows it. Maintenance is EVERYTHING! This Traverse is so far ahead of the Liberty in terms of comfort and looks and features. I'm looking forward to 5 years with it and hopefully an additional 100,000 miles or more.
I just got a 2005 Toyota Corolla for $1,300 with only 156,000 miles! No mechanical issues whatsoever. Car with the most miles I've owned had 255k miles (2002 Toyota Echo 1.5 4 cylinder - US version). Also, I would love that diesel at nearly 70 MPG, that's amazing. I get about 36 MPG (gas) with my Corolla.
The Skoda octavia with a 1.9 diesel engine is basically a VW diesel bora, so i would call it "Boris".
Mr. Revling yeah Boris was also the first name I thought of.
