    Love your show....how do you feel about contacting your congressman if your disability claim is taking a long time....over 10 months now....thank you

      Thank you Tammy. Some congressmen can be very helpful but it just depends on who it is. Usually they will put in a congressional inquiry to the VA regarding your case. The VA will then respond as to the status of your case but it doesn't mean it will change anything as far as the timeline. If your case is in an appeal status (i.e. supplemental claim, higher level review or appeal to the Board), the plus 10months is the norm these days. If its an initial claim that is a bit out of the box and you should definitely be following up. Let us know if we can be of some assistance.

    A veteran must have work credits to qualify for
    Social Security Disability.
