Our world is in loss of a star today, and our universe will never be the same--for Tony Bennett truly made our world ever more wonderful. But thankfully, we can still listen to his golden voice and classy tunes, and watch him perform throughout the end of time. May his beautiful soul now rest in peace.

I may have seen this special when it originally aired. My late wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Tony after his Wolf trap performance in the summer of 1978. He was just so cordial and relaxed and even had a robe on and very graciously signed an autograph for me and my impression was just a total likable guy!

Whenever I read the news or see video clips about the 1960s, my heart cuddles in the nostalgia of when I was in grade school in Hyde Park in Chicago, living on the 3rd floor of an apartment building across from the YMCA, visiting my dad's workplace at Illinois Inst. of Technology, and going to Tad's Steak house on weekends.

1966---------I was 19, headed to 20 on 9/24. it was a difficult year ; I was filled with anger, disappointment, & more questions than answers. I'd dropped out of college, so unsure of my place in the world, & in a moment, took off for here : LA, SoCal. it always seemed to be where I'd go. -------As for Mr Bennett, he was in '66, exactly 6 years away from recording MY all-time #1 by him : " Here's That Rainy Day " ., from his '72 album, " Tony, Wil Love ", by far, IMO, Mr Bennett's very finest album, recorded in London at Abbey Road, with the Late Robert Farnon, arranging, orchestrating, & producing this entire Masterwork. The album has Tony at his very, very best, with gorgeous music like " Street Of Dreams " , " Harlem Butterfly " , " maybe This Time " , " Lazy Day ", & " Remind Me " --------it's an album any lover of Mr Bennett's music needs to have. --------RIP, Tony. We miss you, but your music lives on, Forever, & Ever. ----------------------MJL< 76 y/o

I was born in 1964, but I remember Tony very well from being a guest on other TV shows. This is just wonderful. You can't forget his permanent smile. My mother and I saw him in concert at a small-to-medium sized theater outside of Buffalo, NY. This was AFTER the award winning MTV unplugged album. It would have to be one of his last gigs that wasn't in a major venue. I am so glad I went. I'll never forget it.
