The truly legendary American singer celebrates his 85th birthday in fine style, with a special concert at the historic London Palladium. Accompanied by his quartet, Tony Bennett moves effortlessly through a repertoire spanning 60 years, with songs such as Steppin' Out With My Baby, The Good Life, Smile and his favourite, I Left My Heart In San Francisco. He is joined for two unique duets, by stellar British singers Cleo Laine and Leona Lewis.

Mr Tony Bennett, the man is a class act, a truly fabulous singer, so much so that Frank Sinatra claimed he was the greatest singer out there, but above that a wonderful man, warm, sincere and genuine, to still be performing at this age is a testament not only to his longevity but also to his unique place in the pantheon of popular music.

My father was a professional pianist, he did popular music and was very successful and adored by his fans in Spain. But he made the bad decision to retire from performing and stayed home with no plans and no goals as a senior citizen. It was his slow death.
I admire Mr. Bennett. His determination to stay on in his trade, that he has perfected, has made him live a long life for the enjoyment of us all. He is alive because he wants to keep on singing and he will not stop as long as he can do it. He will not quit!!!

There is no American popular singer other than Tony Bennett who has retained such power, tone and vocal quality in his mid 80s. Vic Damone is the only other singer who comes to mind, however, apart from his concert in West Palm Beach Florida in 2011, Damone is effectively retired.
