Where have you bought the belt from? Do you have a link? I have a noise on my car and apparently it comes from underneath (I suspect its coming from the oil pump) and not sure if I need to change it or just the belt. Currently I have done 73.5k miles.

I changed my pump yesterday didn't bother marking the belt. Just put the new pump straight in. Seems to be working fine. I dont think belt position on the oil pump matters but dont quote me on that.lol
@@Clifford11998866 what was youre problem with the pump. I hear noises coming from the oil pan, and hope it is the pump. Did you replace the belt or is it a lot of work. How much time did it take to replace.

@@sara78130 Hello, why does the timing synchronization change from 1.2 on a cold engine to 0.4 on a warm 90 C? Is the timing correctly installed? 1.6 tdi cayc engine ....
@@Sensei948 help, think that i have actually the same problem on a golf 6 1.6 tdi cayc. oil pressure warning comes just at 90 degrees. We controlled the pressure its 1.4 as cold and 0.4 when its warm. Changed allready the oil, the pump and the pressure sensor. Don't know what to do next.. Could you please tell me if and how you solved the problem on your car?
hi, my 2019 1.6diesel DSG octavia died on me yesterday, lost all power, engine had cut out recovery driver spotted small metal debris an oil on the undertray under the engine where, he said, the oil pump is mounted cant see how anything would escape to the outside? Dealership have it liasing with Skoda Tech, hoping its not total engine failure at only 40,000 miles, 3 years and 10 days old so out of warranty by date
Thanks for reply, I just can't believe I replaced the oil pump and still saying oil pressure stop car on dash, customer had already replaced the oil pressure switch so dunno where to go from here

An oil pump runs in ideal conditions, assuming proper maintenance, using a belt drive is the obvious weak link, belt fragments plugging the pickup screen, this is an avoidable design flaw, gear drive, or direct crank drive is far superior,. what were the engineers thinking.

Why do you need to mark the belt like that does it matter when putting a replacement new pump in?

l dont see the logic in marking the belt drive, why did you do this as its not timing related?
