Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen performing "Big Noise From Winnetka" on Morcambe and Wise S3 E2. There are very few of their performances that I didn't enjoy.
Nice! You can pass a pleasant hour or more watching different versions of this on CZcams, each with the drummer playing the bass strings, including the original with Bob Haggart and Ray Bauduc, and a 1960s version with Gene Krupa.
about 15 years ago I heard for the first time Kenny Ball's Midnight in Moscow, and that turned me onto all of his music, as well as that of Chris Barber. I enjoy it quite much. My condolences on the loss of your dad. His drumming was inspiring, and the joy with which he played still affects me today. I just finished watching a string of youtube videos of the band and it's always a treat.
Beyond Kenny himself, the band in this particular video are: John Bennett on trombone Andy Cooper on clarinet Johnny Parker on piano Paddy Lightfoot on banjo And the highlight of the show, Ron Bowden on the drums and Vic Pitt on the bass.
Uste ednas nezaboravniot Kenny Ball so svojata ekipa. Toj ostavl golema traga vo tradivionalniot britanski jazz. Sekoja pocit kon negoviot golem umetnicki opus. Dusan Stojanovski

Oh lucky bloody you. Wow.
Great drummer, one of my early influences!
My condolences.

Dan SF thankyou
Saw this live many times in the 60s. Absolutely great when the full version is played.
I recall them playing it at a slower tempo in the 60s.
