I put myself thru economics and iknew i was gonna struggle and still did it cuz " its similar to the field i wanna go into", i ended up putting too much time into economics and ended up doing bad in there subjects, where i actually found other subjects more enjoyable and easier.

I am currently finishing my Level 2 AAT apprenticeship. I am going to be moving on to level 3 AAT. However, I don’t have any a levels and I wanted to do an apprenticeship at one of the big 4 firms. What would you suggest as the requirements are 3 a levels and level 3 AAT only awards 2.

For you I’d recommend doing an apprenticeship at level 3 as well you’ll gain experience and again progress another level.
Like you said you can’t apply with level 3 because it only gives you c. 55 UCAS points. You can attempt to qualify your ACA / ACCA elsewhere then join the Big 4 as part of say EY’s Elevate scheme I believe it’s called.
If your heart is set on a big 4 apprentice then I’d recommend doing a 2 year BTEC or a levels to get the ucas points needed, as unfortunately they won’t accept you with level 2 and 3. Another benefit of doing btec / a levels is that it will open more opportunities for you in case you decide accounting isn’t for you.

Hi - I'd check out this video where i do a practice interview - czcams.com/video/BiN93I4zgIk/video.html - see from 09:12 onwards. Also in the first month, I'd speak about building relationships, getting to know your team and senior leaders. Understanding more about your role and deliverables - if there are any tasks which are periodic, i.e. have to be completed daily, weekly, and monthly. Seeking guidance from your peers on how to go the extra mile. Not sure if it's an apprentice / grad role but expect you to be attending college for your first exam. Some ideas to get you going!
Brother Fehzan, can you do a video on technology in the accounting sector, and programmes one is supposed to be skilled at before joining the job market. I know Excel is important, what other software would you recommend?
Yes I will do in the future but apart from excel skills I wouldn't say you need to be experienced in another software for apprentices and graduates.
Salam, I am doing my gcses right now and I feel as if I am going to get grade 4s in my gcses (including maths and eng lang). Would this impact my progression towards being an accountant very much?
Wa alaykum as salam ideally you should aim for 5s in maths and english language but it shouldn't impact you in the long term as there are many schemes which accept 4s.
Is accounting hard as im currently doing this in college and would like to know whether it very challenging or if you just put in work then you can pass also what do you need to specialise in for accountency atm im feeling good with this course but i hope i can handle its context in the future
Yes it’s challenging and probably the hardest period of study I’ve done however also extremely rewarding at the same time. Don’t be afraid of the challenge, so long as you’re motivated and resilient your efforts should get rewarded.
Hi Fehzan. I’be studied at PPL at Warwick (I’m in my last year), I got AAB at a level but the only C I got was English language at gcse.
I think I got A*3As5Bs and the one C in English language . Are they actually going to stop me getting in in my circumstances because of that?
Not all places some firms will have a requirement for B at English Language but you’ll still be able to apply to a lot of organisations with a pass grade in English
@@FehzanMehdi That would be incredibly frustrating not to get in because of a gcse after getting a 2:1 in a humanities subject.

Absolutely fine the main thing is that you want to do accounting and finance as you can get in with any subjects!
Can I use the same PS to apply for degree and degree apprenticeships? (Post A Levels)
If you have to apply via UCAS then yes obviously ensure it’s relevant to the firm and degree on offer.

I didn't do GCSEs,but I did something we refer to as wassce in my country which is sierra Leone and am currently studying ACCA...am in my second level.... can I be Able to apply for the apprenticeship in UK.
If those qualifications are recognised equivalents of uk qualifications and you have right to work in the UK then yes. I've found the biggest issue for many students from abroad is right to work.

I have a question sir. I have 80 ucas points however I can apply you to a foundation year in finance and accounting at unis then continue into the finance and accounting degree. If I’m able to get a 2:1 or 1:1 in the degree will my a levels be neglected?
In the future may be as right now there is less focus on A-level results than say 10 years ago, but most schemes currently require around 112 UCAS points, so there's no guarantee.

I wanted to ask, even though im aware tis is 2 years after upload, but currently im doing my gcses and allahamdullilah it is going good, but I've been confused for so long as to what im actually meant to do after i actually complete the apprenticeship. Like do I stay with the company and continue to work there or do I have to complete another study? Also, which would be best to place my apprenticeship for, a private firm or one of the big 4?
Wa alaykum as salam after finishing the apprenticeship you will either be offered a permanent contract (unlikely they do not offer you one) or you go and find another job.
Best time to do apprenticeship is after a levels or BTECs and both big 4 of private can be good, it depends on your preferences.

Yes they can but important to remember firms won’t sponsor visas so you must have the ability work full time
Hi Brother, I have been looking for degree apprenticeships in accounting and finance but have been unable to find local firms/providers. I live in Leeds and have been wondering if you know any firms/companies that will offer me this apprenticeship.
It is quite late now to be looking - there a few non degree apprenticeships still hiring in London - best time to start looking and applying is September / October as they typically recruit a year in advance.
I got 4 at maths and eng lang is this too low or should I resit.
No you’ll still be eligible for some schemes I think EY accept a 4 so a pass grade in both should be fine
Brother Fahzan If I do APPRENTICESHIP in UK and later on I decide to move abroad would I be able to get Job abroad based on my accountancy apprenticeship-degree if not what subject should I choose in University for accountancy ?

If you do a degree apprenticeship the degree is like any other degree you’d get from university - so a degree gained through an apprenticeship will be fine.
What if you have a grade 6 in maths but 4 in English language which is still a pass does it cancel each other out
Thanks no you can’t take an average if a scheme requires level 5 then you must have level 5 in both subjects

Id also like to know where you went after college/sixth form because i feel apprenticeship are very difficult to get in but this is path i realy want to go
So after sixth form I took a year out and then joined the national audit office on a school leaver programme. Check out my video on Dealing with failure will give you a bit of an insight and hopefully some motivation

Hi i recently received my GCSES. I passed all my GCSEs(other than French got a 3 in that😏) I got a 6 in Maths and English Literature but a 4 in English Language. How big of a disadvantage am I in?
Some schemes will require a 5 but there are many which will accept a grade 4 in English language so don’t worry too much about it
@@FehzanMehdi ive looked at kpmg pwc quite a few and they ask for a 4 so u should be fine as long as i smash my A levels

Yes it’s possible not all apprenticeships require top a levels but it does depend on your definition of bad

Hi I hope your well your videos are so amazing please dont stop, anyway I recently got my offer from PwC to join their school leaver programme but the reuirement was 120 UCAS points but because of covid they said all the offer holders wont need to worry about them as they are guranteeing us all regardless of it because of how COVID affected us in school this year but im not sure if they are completely removing the UCAS points requirements for future years.

Out of interest is this as part of the flying start programme?
I don’t believe what you’ve experienced will be the norm going forward ie they will still consider grades as part of the application but may be a sign of a shift to putting less focus on grades!

What experience do employers look for
Internships, Placements, Insight days are relevant and look good in an application
WALIKUM salam bruv...................... sorry for asking something off topic.....I have done alot of research on google , sent messages to Professionals who went through the process ...................what i want to ask is that ....Is it possible to get an audit or tax role once some has become ACCA member? .....I know BIG4 hire many graduates and apply work permit for them but i am talking about experienced professional who are not based in UK .........let say if i complete my 3yrs ACCA training from BDO RSM GT which are not big4 but comes in top 10 firms (because as i from PAK most of the big 4 firm hire ACCAs in for their ERP department i dont know they dont why they do this) ......do u think big4 will consider me for hiring for experienced role ?

Wa alaykum as Salam they would rarely sponsor visas and would only do that if there is no local talent. Yes you can join a firm here but would need to have right to work in the U.K. it may be worth joining a top 10 firm in your home country then looking to transfer to the U.K. as an example when I was at BDO I know qualified accountants would come to the U.K. office from South Africa and spend a few years here
Is it hard to study plus work ???
Definitely not easy can get quite tough esp when at times it can feel like you’re only working and studying. However it’s manageable, planning in advance is the key if you do that you should be able to manage both fine.
Avoid EY’s digital apprenticeship. You’ll be treated like a slave. Kpmg’s 360 apprenticeship is better
