Dallas Texas DP | Production Vlog Behind the Scenes
This was an exciting shoot covering two days in a studio. We were filming and photographing home goods for an online retailer. We used large light sources to replicate big windows. We carried the look through most of our setups. Lights used were the Aputure 1200D Pro, 600D Pro, 300D MKII and MC's. The Sony FX6 was used for video and the A7IV was used for photos. The slider made for smooth repeatable moves. No jitter, no shake and no inconsistency.

Love the breakdown, super insightful! Quick noob question haha, what is the main benefit of running timecode if it's a single cam setup with no location sound -- would an editor cross reference it with notes taken on set?
That is spot on! Also we did have two cameras at certain times.

1) Was this shoot before your Sandisk SSD failed? Because I saw it in this video, the workstation shot. I still have my 2tb working fine but I use it anxiously with all the hardware failure reports
2) Why use timecode here?
3) Which specific frame/t-bar is that? Was about to get a 6x6 chimera frame but was wondering if I should just get 8x t-handles from modern or something

1. Yes, we no longer use them.
2. We had another camera on sticks. So it helped match those shots.
3. You are right on the money, just a modern studio setup. Get the split frame for better travel.
I don't believe there were any problems with the older 2TB , I have a couple and no problems . But the newer 4TB had alot of problems . The way Sandisk / WD handled the fall out is why I wont be buying them again . Really bad PR moves there , text book how not to behave when you have screwed up.
@@robinprobyn1971 I had a 2TB fail on me a few months back. It puts both my Macs into boot loops when connected.

Can i ask why yoiu had your camera settings (1.33) set to high base, 1200Ei Index please? The scene looks pretty well lit to me. Or am i missing something!
Thanks alot for all this content Piotr. I've been in the industry a few years now, but i still get huge kicks out of watching these set up's, especially the ones produced by PDMokry. Although my girlfriend thinks i'm mad. (Tut! What does she know 😇)

We were jumping from bright scenes to darker ones and I wanted the noise to match for all. So I opted for high base 12,800iso. Also we were at 5.6 + on most of the shots.
Thank you for the support, I always watch any BTS I can. It is nice that more folks are doing it now. My wife has finally accepted me watching and pumping them out also.

Maybe you should mention how much you charge for a project like this. That's where I think many of us beginners/intermediate visual creators struggle.
