- Who are the best tanks in Hero Wars?
In Hero Wars FB/Web You have to have at least 3 complete teams.
I am a huge fan of building whatever heroes you want, but if you want to build the most efficient heroes (only), then you need to only focus on 2 tanks. And these 2 tanks should be good in EVERY aspect of the game!
There are several great off-tank options that can act as a tank, and are themselves 'mandatory' heroes to level (Isaac, Morrigan, Arachne, Etc.)
In my opinion there is ONLY 3 tank choices that TRULY excel in every activity in the game, but you only need 2.

This makes zero sense. Way too many people trying to optimize Osh when they can't even do something as basic as get Arena #1.
If you want to get Arena #1 regularly, Aurora remains the best tank in the game by some margin. And you'll get far more resources from that than you'll ever get from Osh.

You can get Arena #1 with any tank, with the right supports. Given the 15-18 mandatory heroes, Aurora/Rufus/Corvus are the top 3 clear choices for most efficient tanks.
The point of this video is discussing a world where Corvus + Rufus is the two choices for the *most activities,* but it could just as easily be Corvus + Aurora. I believe that Rufus is still a clear best choice for defense (right now), though, of the three.
And just to see about it, I just beat our server's rank #1 Arena team with Corvus/Morrigan/Isaac/Sebastian/Iris; I swapped Corvus/Morrigan for Aurora/Celeste and it also wins.
I think you'd agree Isaac/Seb/Iris are pretty important heroes everybody would have.
Was the rank 1 defense team a bad team? Arbitrary. Is my server harder or easier than the next? Also arbitrary.

It really doesn't matter which team is currently in #1 in your server, right now.
The #1 teams will change and, if you want to get #1 regularly, like I do in 80%+ of days, you'll want to be able to beat *any* of them, and ideally using as few heroes as possible.
I have a rooster of 8 heroes, 4 of which still have a good way to go to be maxed, and yet I can already beat nearly any maxed team possible.
And good luck pulling something similar with Corvus. He's not a bad tank, but he's way less versatible than Aurora.

Why would i care about getting #1 in Arena when those positions are taken by whales i can't defeat anyway??
I'd rather waste my resources on doing something that actually gives me the idea of achieving something.

My Corvus/Morrigan, ODH team does surprisingly well at Lvl 140, considering their lower levels of development (all Orange +3/596K team power). If they were all Red +2, they would be good enough.
Since COW, Grand Arena, and Guild War all require 3 tanks you need more than 2. And of course the tanks used on offense may differ from the ones you use on defense. So you may need even more than 3 just to cover those events.
You don't; There are plenty of non-tank heroes that can tank.
For CoW you don't use all three teams on defense (and usually when you do, it's some weird 5 tank or 5 control team).
For offense, just use Isaac to tank (or Arachne, Morrigan, your damage dealer, Etc.) your third attack.
Grand Arena only requires 2 *actual* teams, if you win twice you win the match.
Guild wars only requires one team.
I think that Advari can tank.
Qing Mao or Dante can tank in rare circumstances, I think. Almost any warrior can tank in some circumstances.
I don't know about the 150 Osh, but at 130 Keira is effective at clearing the spheres and can deal 10 million damage on her own. I expect she would have a much tougher time at 150, but she could help to clear the spheres and her artifact provides a physical damage boost that would help Corvus as well as Morrigan's skeletons. Keira would likely benefit from Morrigan's armor penetration artifact boost and Corvus' lowering of enemy defense stats.
Ive been hearing that alot today! I don't give her nearly enough credit.
@@HeroWarsCentral Keira does insane amounts of damage, but she has been one of my top Heroes for years. I currently have her at 166,800 power. She could really use a Health or Armor skin.
Amazing thing, people discussing groups of arguments and parameters interacting with other ones in algorithms, without using math speech.
I'm not at the 150 level but I like my Corvus and Rufus combo on my undead team. If Corvus can stay alive until Rufus alts it goes good.

Interesting. My undead team is my highest power team right now, but it has been fall behind in terms of damage vs. Osh. Its Corvus, Morrigan, Phobos, Dorian, and Peppy. It works well for defense, but has trouble on offense.
The team I showed in the video at about 4:25 is an example of a decent Undead team vs Osh!
I put Phobos in my secondary meta of magic for Osh (Alvanor, Thea, Phobos, Orion, Kai), with Corvus in his own tem designed to feed Albus lots of dmg (Maya, Qing Mao, Heidi, Lian, Corvus), I don't have or use Morrigan although she sounds nice! both of these do a 3rd as much as my Lol Osh meta with small investment :) --I even have the Fire Twins in another Osh tem and M&S in another: the M&S is up-and coming in dmg but already decent, while Aidan and Kayla arent as good but still getting there
The problem with Corvus not destroying spheres fast enough, and the team getting put to sleep. I got one lucky roll when only one nightmare was created and Corvus took a nap, as long as there are nightmares there will be no new spheres, and the rest of the team was all over Osh dealing decent damage and somewhat ignoring the nightmare and not caring about its attacks. Maybe there is a way to do it consistently.

I don't think Charlie meant "Corvus alone" as in solo'ing Osh, but as the only tank. Corvus hardly damages the spheres at all. his value is circumventing them to do direct pure damage to the dome. You definitely need someone else to clear the spheres. I use Heidi and will post a replay link above.
I have a fully maxed and ascended Corvus, and he fails miserably on the level 160 Osh. I'm not sure what it will take to make him useful at that level.
What about crit damage or crit chance characters in this game. Does this game miss out on that.

no need for another tank beside the main tank, if you have a good aidan. my team is (corvus-albus / keira-fenris / morrigan-axel / aidan-khorus / iris - biscuit or oliver ) with albus. and i always do 10-15 million damage on lvl 150. my team is almost maxed so i use a 55k power aidan and the team stay alive . the problem is not enough damage and corvus and keira always go too sleep. i would change iris if i have a better damage dealer.
aidan is really good on osh because on meteor shower you will have double armor buff . i didnt try him on lvl 160 because my aidan is weak but i think he will be helpful
If you are referring to heroes you already have levelled up, could Faceless be useful? Can Faceless copy Corvus' ult completely, striking for damage and lowering enemy armour and magic defense? Or, does most of Corvus' damage come from the altar of souls?
Would Faceless' extra 3K of magic defense matter against the 150 Osh? Is that extra 3K valuable when combined with Morrigan's healing and bone armour?
Does Phobos deal enough damage for Faceless' Magic Pen artifact to have an impact on the fight?
Hmm I'll be honest I haven't tried, though I can't see why not. Faceless copies almost all hero's ults.
The extra 3.3k M.Def is helpful for sure against any level but 160. Faceless was in my Undead team for awhile but now copies Cornelius in another team. When he was on my team, I used him to copy Heidi and clear the spheres with a double deathflower when they gather in front of Corvus.
Corvus, and Faceless for that matter, does not have any AP, so the strike of the damned is only useful for the artifact at higher levels. Defensive debuffs don't work against bosses like Osh either.
In all, Faceless is a good complement to this kind of team, just don't copy Corvus with him.
Faceless with Phobos is a very good option. Any magic defense penetration artifact is enough to boost Phobos, at least until around adventure level 11, if not the until all heroes are maxed.
I usually depend on Arachne for the magic defense penetration, since she ults more, but it doesn't have to be that way.
I'd like to make a Faceless team, 1 day, and then after reaching team level 130, upgrade all heroes to at least blue+2 or violet.

Corvus (option) only benefits the attacker, not the defender side.
1) Aurora is the best tank for dodging and reflecting physical damage to protect the team
2) Rufus is the best tank is magic resistance
I agree with your points 99%! Aurora doesn't reflect physical damage, but she does reflect magic damage. She's also incredibly easy to counter on Defense (so is Rufus).
Actually, defense doesn't really matter, since every team can be beaten!
Corvus is great in most activities. So are both Rufus and Aurora.

We saw some really interesting Chabba/Ishmael teams when we faced one of the top 3 COW teams, though I can't remember which it was now.

How about adding aidan to a corvus tank team? Or is aidan too new to consider (no way to get his soulstone now if you don't have abs star already)
I think Aidan is a fantastic choice, and a hero I want to level to supplement against Iris
Aidan soulstones come up in the Hero chest if you already have him, and he'll eventually be "hero of the month," plus I look forward to seeing him again next Winterfest. [Fingers crossed!]

I just started 6 days ago, and theres definitely a huge learning learning curve of patience and progress in front of me. I pulled a 3 star corvus from the chest. I was hoping to get a suggestion from you in terms of what you mean by powering up 2 tanks for efficiency. I have made corvus my top tank and I was hoping to ask what you would suggest for my 2nd tank as of now? I have aurora, galhand, luther and astorath as well. I am completely cool with investing in corvus. My other tanks they dont seem to be effective at my level 39 almost 40. Thanks in advance.
Aurora is an incredible choice for a tank!
What I'm discussing in this video is a longer term strategy that is based on what the game looks like right now. Unfortunately the game changes quite frequently, and what's good right now might not be good in 6 months or a year.

It's vs 130 Osh - where my guild currently caps out - but on paper it can scale to 150 no problem. Been working on this team for awhile. 17M and there is plenty of headroom as our Guild Morale is only 5.75% and neither Corvus or Albus are near maxed.
It's manual play with very particular timings. Almost all of the damage comes from Corvus' altar and Albus regathering it when the hits are most rapid.
You let as many spheres hit the wormhole as possible and destroy the planet parade cohorts at the very last second with Heidi.
I make this attack first and buy the healing converter AFTER, as it would subtract from the retaliatory damage.
You hit Corvus' ult for the armor artifact right as the wormhole timer hits 0. You can rely on the Astral shield for the first one. The blasts will be well defended and trigger more retaliatory hits from the Altar, up to 55 with all heroes + 6 skeletons and 5 spheres entering the wormhole, but the skels often fall each round.
Flip Celeste into light mode so she heals Corvus and doesn't prematurely destroy spheres with her Zenith attacks
When the planet parade begins, double-flip Celeste for the healing and two M.Att buffs. Then trigger Morrigan, Maya, and Heidi. Morrigan's skeletons are tougher, Maya heals the team for more, and Heidi's deathflower is strong enough to wipe out the spheres very quickly.
As mentioned, Albus recaptures the pure damage from the altar anytime the spheres are swirling in front of Corvus, dealing many light hits.
Maya can be swapped out for Aidan, Andvari, Cornelius, or another defensive hero depending on whether you need M.Def or Armor. With two armor artifacts and some luck with healing, they may actually be able to survive a round with 160, but I'm lightyears away from testing that.

Letting the defense spheres hit the wormhole on purpose is an interesting strategy. I'd like to try it with my Peppy-Luther team.
So you said the two best heroes to invest in as begginer for all content are aurora and rufus. I dont have rufus, but I do have astaroth, corvus, mushy and luther and I have no idea in which one to focus. Same for other heroes, so what would be a good team comp for all content to focus? The game is overwhelming with information, heroes, game modes and no much resources to spend on everything.
The good news is that none of those are inherently wrong answers! The video should have focused more on the fact that you only need 2 tanks, and that these are some of the best tanks right now.
Mushy is not a good tank at all. She works better like mage/DPS

@Hero Wars Central what I meant was make sure you have a decent damage dealing hero with albus, then either another tank or double healer. Also celeste if used needs auto turned off until about 1 minutes in then get her into healing mode.

How do you get pets? I just started a couple months ago and at level 63.
Pets are a function of the FB/Web version of the game that unlocks at level 40

Hero Wars was one of the BIGGEST scams of a game! Was advertised as being something completely different than it actually is! Plus, without spending a fortune, you will have little chance of EVER being as good as players who joined before you, so you are pretty much WASTING your time! ALSO..... the same boring patterns of game play, mixed in with the technical difficulties that happen (quite often), trust me and don't waste your time!!!!
