Thank's for the vids, see you in 10 years for part 3!
Perfect!
i hope part 3 comes out sooner than 8 years
You are the Bob Ross and mister Rogers of spoons. Your first video healed my inner child. A commenter, Anja, on your first vid put it beautifully. Kind and patient and not patronizing. Easy to learn from. As if you’re sitting next to me encouraging me and helping me. Help > criticism and there’s not enough of that in the world! Thank you so much
Wow, very glad to hear that!
This is my second lesson in an hour. Your are a wonderful teacher. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow . Thank you sir.
Glad it was helpful!
I just found you after watching videos of Abby the Spoon Lady. Glad to see a difference in techniques and ways of teaching. This has helped alot! Please put up lesson 3 soon!
Fantastic!
Wow I had no idea how easy this could be. Ty much love
This is great! I'm excited to learn these new techniques. Im a musician and im so used to reading music and being "told" the rhythm that i sort of struggle to be creative and go back and forth betwen techniques.
Any siggestions on good songs to practice with as well?
Many thanks for making this video!
Any song in 4/4 time with a moderate (not too fast) tempo should work fine for starters. You might also be interested in Part 1 of this video series: czcams.com/video/U0Tp8-NjsvM/video.html Best of luck!
Fantastic! I used the first tutorial during the pandemic as a little fun thing to pass the time. Still at it a couple years later.
Great to hear!
I thought the finger rake was just a gag Curly did in "Disorder in the Court"! 🤣 Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck!! Wooo wooo wooo wooo!😂

Found you! Glad for part 2.
Hey, great! It only took eight years!
@@DaveRuch you cannot believe how well timed. I am creating a take-home activity for our tiny population in Edna Bay, AK. and added playing spoons to the list this past Friday. I followed the DIY instructions I found and have you P1&P2 ready for back up. Blessed.
@@notsostray Perfect. Here's another one you might get some use out of - czcams.com/video/E5z1VVIwtYE/video.html
Thanks mate!, very helpful seen both videos. Going well, yes the trick is to keep the spoons level and not too floppy.
Glad it helped!
I watched another tutorial a while back but forgot what they taught, what you displayed was the same technique it came back quite quick. I'll keep practicing.
I am enjoying this learning. Thank you for sharing online with us. Any tips on managing the 'hurt' in my hand and fingers as I am learning. Thinking maybe gloves?
In my experience, your hands and fingers will adjust fairly quickly as long as you don't overdo it, and before long you won't feel any discomfort. But if gloves help, then sure!
I would love a video about RHYTHM and the spoons. I've been playing for a while now and I'm wondering about counting rhythm as I play. I think it would be enlightening. Not sure how to improve in this area. THANKS!
That's a great idea
Yes, a video teaching spoon rhythm in different timing…i.e, waltz, reel, and jig…would be great! I’m a fiddler! Thanks! 🎻
Which spoons do you recommend
The ones that are in your kitchen drawer!
When I wash this a release nine months ago
Lol part 1 was 8 years ago
